  1. Hi there, looking for an American Stand, preferably in Europe / Germany thanks a lot in advance, Stefan
  2. Hei Chris, I have a peli storm case 3220 for sale if you are interested.
  3. similar topic here...Alexa SXT Plus with Master Anamorphics, motor for wireless focus, LMB and on board Battery since I have no cable. I think I have to pass on this one?? :-/
  4. Hei Chris, thanks for the hint. I dropped some machine oil on it and it seems to work quite fine now :)
  5. my gimbal clamp on the Zephyr seems to does not work correct anymore. It is very stiff and almost impossible to clamp the gimbal. I unscrewed it to see if there might be something between the screw and the clamp but nothing. It just seems that the thread which is inside the clamp does not rotate anymore, like it does f.e. with the other clamp for the post extension. does anyone had simmilar issues and knows advice how to handle it?? any help would be very appreciated, I have a shoot tomorrow, and I just discovered this :(
  6. hello, I'm looking for a flexible triax cable (Fisher 1051 connectors) or a video system, similar to HDLink (incl. a unit for camera control) to rent for a one day show beginning of december. Does anyone have this to rent, preferably in south germany?? Or some contacts to owners/companies?? thanks
  7. Was wondering about the same thing here in germany. First contact that comes to mind would be Betz. And does anyone have some infos where I can get those "hyperflex" Triax. The guys from the broadcast van told me, the easiest way would be to get this hyperflex triax with a fischer 1051 connector, so they can plug me with their triax on the back of my vest. Who makes them here in germany and how much is the price??
  8. looking for a way to hard mount a zephyr to a quad and/or dolly. something like the walter klassen universal mount or the one directly from tiffen. It should fit the zephyr socket block and mount on speed rails and/or Euro Zapfen on a dolly. anyone got one spare to rent from 16.09 to 25.09, preferably in south germany (otherwise maybe DHL-Versand :) ?? Or I could take it personally in Berlin until 14.09. it's for a student project, so unfortunately no big budget available for the rent :-/ thanks for any help in advance :)
  9. looking for a used, but in good condition sunbounce wind killer would prefer the 90x125cm or the 130x190cm, depending on the price :) would also prefer shipping from or near germany If anyone has a spare, please let me know thanks
  10. I own a zephyr and I'm still quite happy with it, but what bothers me most is the unmodularity of this thing. So I'm thinking about switching to an EFP/3A, which is for sale right now in the marketplace. But as I do not have much experience with bigger rigs, I am still not quite sure if this is a good idea. The package contains of an updated 3A sled, but not HD wired, which don't bother me much. The arm is a blue spring and the vest an EFP. Plus many extras and all for a reasonable price. The question that bothers me most is: if I buy this rig, is it all switchable in the future?? F.e. if I'd like to upgrade to a better arm, vest or even just a gimbal?? Is this EFP/3A compatible with all the pro, xcs, steadyrig etc. stuff out there?? How about the arm?? I know it carries more than the zephyr, but how is the performance?? Are those older blue springs arms very smooth. I know every op might have a different opinion to this but Id love to hear some thoughts about this. Same goes with the vest and sled/ gimbal. I'm also gonna go to test it out if it feels right for me, but it would be very nice to hear some pros/contras for this rig, ideally from people who also knows the zephyr. :) For me it feels right to switch, but like I said it would be nice to hear some thoughts from you experienced guys about this :)
  11. just had a phone talk with a reseller and they told me that AB is changing their prices from 1st of FEB, but she could not tell me if up - or downwards :/ anyone knows more about this?? Is it smart to wait or will they probably rise their prices??
  12. Is it possible to unscrew a lemo FGG.0B connector?? I've tried to, but it seems quite fixed and I don't want to use too much force on it. I'm pretty sure this is very simple with the Fischer connectors, but does it also work with the lemos??
  13. Thanks for your experience. Any more opinions??
  14. interesting topic...I'd love to hear more stories about that, esp. from german operators :) I just finished a low budget feature as 2.AC, where they told you the usual stuff before (relaxed crew, less working hours) but we ended up almost everday 2 or 3 hours more than planned on the call sheet. And there were also some horror days with around 17/18 hours!! And no extra-pay for the extra-hours!! Is this also regular in germany, even at "tarif-sets"?? The "Ruhezeiten" (rest period defined by law) were also undercut sometimes. I really love the job, but under these conditions???
  15. anyone has some experience with those Swit A/B batteries?? http://www.mbfshop.de/de/AB-Mount-Akkus/Swit-S-8080A-LiIon-Anton-Bauer-mount-144V-95Wh-Akku.html I considered getting some of those, they just half the price of a dionic, but I already have a A/B charger and as most manufactures states you should only load original AB batteries on the charger. any thoughts??
  16. please have a look at how many feature films are still shot on 16/35, before stating shooting film is something for the 0.01% old-fashioned perfectionists who deny the "glory future" of digital :/

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kPbDW_Y72Aw just a short and nice music video I stumbled upon and wanted to share with you. I really like the whole thing...song, camera movement, set design, actors :)
  18. exactly my thoughts...What annoys me most about the rig is the incompatibility, f.e. the different socket block size...
  19. would also love to hear some more thoughts about this issue, esp. from operators in germany :) I've seen some short films in vitas from well-established operators and not only at the beginning of their career. Does it depend if the production has budget or if the director/DOP are friends?? Do you always charge at least the rent for the gear or insurance?? any comments are welcome :)
  20. hi Pascal, have you actually attended a workshop by AF Marcotec?? Is it any good??
  21. hi, I'm also a very new to this but I think there are some shots which don't necessarily require steadicam or other said do not reflect your skillz in steadicam, f.e. the scene with the girl walking to her father is more a less just a pan from left to right. but it's just my humble opinion :)
