  1. I dunno what happened the other day, but I think it was a mistake. If a moderator could please remove ALL of my posts in this thread that would be dearly appreciated. Hugs and High Fives all around. Those who know me personally know that I'm a very level headed person, but there is some stuff going on this thread that should not be going on anywhere. And I'm not just talking about the negative sentiments that I have relayed here. Hopefully someone out there sees fit to clean this thread up because: 1. I didn't start this thread as an Advertisement. I'm happy to become a Site Sponsor here though so I am able to make official product press release type posts here. 2. I don' think there should be any advertising in this thread - about my product - or ostensibly any other product that may or may not be for sale by anyone else, anywhere else in the world. I'm happy to keep my nose out of someone else's threads, but I want to say for the record what is being shown by some other party is NOT what we are already selling in limited supply to various users around the world, and will not in any way compare with what we are doing.
  2. It's going to be a sad day for you when you find out you have ZERO support. I only wish you the best of luck, and... PS I love haters. BTW - I have 100% confirmation on exactly what happened here, and I am pretty confident this has zero impact on what we are doing. Furthermore - if it's something "NEW AND DIFFERENT" and deserves my respect, then why didn't you create your own thread instead of advertising in a thread about someone else's product? Just seems suspicious to someone who has their finger on the pulse as much as I do. Also not surprised to see the Usual suspects Dogging me. Hey, Eric - remember when we used to work on "Everybody Hates Chris" together, and I was just a lowly Set Lighting Technician? I thought we were friends. I guess time changes a lot of things, right? We're all Hungry for Money and Power I suppose, and its just a sign of the times when people get vicious.
  3. I'm going to go ahead and call this out for what it is. So - someone went to the Amimon Booth at IBC and took photos with the reference design product being shown. Rest assured that this first time post here from some ally looking to drive traffic to the Rebotnix site is what I would call outright fraudulence from a group known for their less than scrupulous behavior. Also know that the Paralinx Tomahawk will be the first product of its kind in the marketplace and will not simply be a common reference design. There is much more to it. Also know that fraudulent and illegal activity especially in regards to RF devices is generally frowned upon by all national and international governing bodies, and none of us wants to face a crackdown by government agencies or entities do we?
  4. 09-21-2013 04:46 PM Abel Cine has another great Expo coming up next week in NYC - All About Wireless Video. My company Paralinx will be there to talk about our cost effective, high Performance wireless HD transmitter systems. When we started working on Paralinx about five years ago, there was literally nothing available that met OUR needs as camera people. We strove to make something that would make our lives easier when shooting, and that would be affordable enough for most people to carry in their kit and rent to productions as needed. We are constantly striving to innovate and provide the best possible solution for a wireless HD link with zero delay, and we are very excited to be presenting at this Abel Cine event. I look forward to seeing you in New York! many Thanks to Mitch Gross, Andy Shipsides, and the entire Abel Cine team for making this possible! The AbelCine EXPO: Wireless Video Transmitters is scheduled for 6pm-9pm, September 24th at Abel Cine NYC. Hopefully our friends in NYC can attend, and hopefully many more who don't know us yet, and if not they you can view the LiveStream afterwards. Sign up here -http://training.abelcine.com/event/a...ters-new-york/ Or view the LiveStream here on Tuesday night - http://new.livestream.com/abelcine/a...ransmitters-ny Yours Truly will be there to talk about our current, new and upcoming wireless hd solutions. I will also have my smallHD DP7 OLED monitor with me if anyone who hasn't had a chance to check it out yet would like to!
  5. @eric - I just have to take the bait on this one. I remember when Pizza Hut merged with Taco Bell. That just totally nuked Chipotle.
  6. Hey, it's cool. People asked us to provide a solution that would take 5vdc to 30v DC, provide 2 pin lemo or p tap as an option, easy to roll your own power cables or replace them with cheap ones you already have. You can put SDI in, and the crossbow cascades power to the arrow. Yes, it is an "afterthought" because its an accessory for people who already own an Arrow. For a whole now people could use their decimator 2 or blackmagic or atomos converter with our transmitter or receiver, what we have done is an "easy solution" for the transmitter. We pride ourselves on customer service and support, and we are continually innovating. I don't waste my time crapping on what other people want to cobble together if you have time and patience for 14 cables coming out of a bundle that's taped up. Anyway, Eric, by your argument should Audi stop producing cars because Lexus might have a faster car? My belief is that without competition, there is only monopoly and never innovation. Life in a vacuum "sucks" as they say ;) Kind Regards, Dan
  7. The Crossbow with the Arrow Sticking out of the top measures 7.5" long at the longest point. Why Did we make it stick out at all you may wonder. The pcb antennas are in the end that is elevated. If we encapsulated the antenna ports in metal that would harm transmission quality and range. Why did we start with PCB Antennas in the first place? You have to start somewhere, and to comply with FCC regulations and get these out we have PCB Antennas. Will future Transmitters and receivers have external Antennas? Yes, Tomahawk will have External Antennas. When Will Tomahawk be released en masse? Likely to be able to ship en masse early Q4 this year.
  8. I think you guys will be blown away with what I am going to show in a few weeks here. putting the finishing touches now.
  9. Just to set the record straight , Paralinx follows RF regulations by engaging DFS bands 60 seconds after boot time, we just don't EXCLUSIVELY use DFS bands, and so you can use the Arrow and Arrow+ almost immediately. Expanded DFS bands open after 60 seconds.
  10. Hi James - please shoot us an email - to info@paralinx.net - Tomahawk is not far away, it will be quite different than anything else that has come before, way different than Arrow and Arrow+ , same near-zero latency. Metric Tons of Range potential, and Razor Sharp. The unparalleled service and support of Paralinx is also a key ingredient. It's closer than anyone thinks, but I don't want to lock a date quite yet for you... Press release will be ready when it's time.
  11. Also, If a firmware requiring you to wait a full 60 seconds for a system to make a link on ANY professional Motion picture set is considered Innovation, then... I must be doing it Wrong...
  12. I have to interject here. If you want the First Best Original Transmitter of this type. The first to offer the Amimon Pro Chipset to the market, and the first to offer the Multi Receiver Pro Chipset. Also, the only system offered by a Los Angeles, CA based pair of IATSE local 600 film technicians, innovators, and brethren... Then there is no other choice to consider but Paralinx. Clones and imitators are simply uncivilized. Not sure what went wrong with Gaylen's test, however we consistently are able able to transmit to a maximum of 328' Who else would offer a full value trade in when we introduced a Multi receiver ARROW+ ? Not sure what's up with some of the bogus claims from others out there, however - I can tell you Paralinx doesn't sleep - we have been hitting it hard, our Crossbow HD-SDi module will be available soon, another innovation that offers unparalleled power at an unheard of original price. Why did I start working on the Paralinx project five years ago? Because other products available at the time were a complete failure on actual film sets, and what I would consider to be overpriced for what they accomplished. Not even sending 30 feet away in 90% of real world Hollywood film set conditions. The bane of camera people everywhere. We set out to provide an affordable, usable, professional product to the industry and succeeded at being the first. We will continue to stay first, and we will offer a competitive advantage to anyone who is considering a lame imitation. Paralinx, located in Burbank, CA - the friendly neighborhood affordable HD option from pros who work in the industry just like you.
  13. Hey Buddies - the connect actually uses Sony NPF style batteries (NPF970) - it's a pretty cool product, but if you can, try to make sure that it fits the back of your monitor if you plan on mounting it to a battery receiver plate. I will try talking to our friends at Atomos and see if I can get pictures to depict what I mean by that.
  14. Hyperbolism is one of my innate qualities ;)
  15. Please send me the info to become a sustaining member. We proudly assemble in the USA. Best, Dan
  16. We do this too. "This is why we have demo monitors, and why we invite operators to come to our office, and try our monitor out on their rig. "
  17. Hi All, I think this has gone waaay out of proportion. We are the first company to use the Amimon Pro chipset. What does that Mean? Tighter Tolerances in chip manufacturing Better Heat resistance so you can run it 24 hours a day 7 days a week Better Signal to Noise Ratio Higher image quality because of Better SNR/Baseband Optimization/RF optimization Ability to Send to four Receivers while retaining Encryption (not a function of broadcast mode) Ability to utilizes protected Dynamic Frequency Bands Ability to utilize Automatic Frequency Selection based on intelligent environmental Analysis More Antennas Custom Power Management Professional Grade custom Accessories Now, As far as photographs of the inside of my product you can come buy one from me in person, then take it apart and post photos. If you think a photo of a PCB will tell you anything about what is happening inside the IC's or the software that runs them then I believe you are sadly mistaken. Again, I will refer to the Intel Celeron and the Intel i7. They are socket compatible, They both crunch numbers, but they are wildly different. If you were an alien coming to earth and were handed one of each, would you be able to tell the difference? I don't think you would by just looking at the outside packaging. I don't jump in the forum and talk about how many other better, cheaper, "same" looking monitors there are when compared to your cinetronic monitors for one major reason: I don't need one, and I don't need to slam it. There are a million monitors that do a great job for my shoots already besides yours, and Yes, some of them are also made in the USA. Next year there will be a million more, and probably a million competitors to my product at NAB. Still, I think we are more alike then you reckon. You can come to my shop in Burbank and try one of my systems. We have the same exact level of customer service and support that you do. If you don't want to buy my product, then please don't bother slamming it. We have many satisfied customers. I'm not here to slam what you do - just to remind you that I am an American Entrepreneur just like you, I have values, I worked extremely hard to get where I am, and because there are knockoffs of my product does not mean that I am at fault for that, or that I have the money or force to fight it. Rather, I choose to focus on the positive impact of what I have done for this market. Do you think that IDX would have dropped the price for their systems if I hadn't come along? I am happy to make a case for just what I have done for this industry despite the presence of Haters, and people who would be so dismissive. In Conclusion: I don't have any need to share ANY of my knowledge or trade secrets with you. Figure it out on your own. By the way, I'm a bit surprised at how Angry some of the responses are here. Regarding the HiSense product - show me where you can buy that product? That's a proof of concept. I was working on my project LONG before that was announced, and I don't see that for purchase anywhere. Again, It took my five years to get this far, and I don't have to share ANY of my knowledge with you or anyone else. If you like my product, and you like my customers service and support, then please by my product. If not, then I am sure there are plenty of options for you out there. Please get back to me next year so that I can purchase one of your Wireless HD transmitters with 1200' range Line of sight for under $10,000. Peace be to you all, and one last snide joke for you "Who makes that LSI on your PCB?"
  18. I don't know what your questions are referring to, but I do know that Paralinx is not only FIRST to market - for more than half a year - and that we also offer features that others don't like the ability to send to four receivers at one time. I'm all about supporting MY product - which in my opinion is a great one, not trashing other people's. If you want to make some suggestions - you can join the BRAND AGNOSTIC forum: DirectorsMonitor.com Make a produt suggestion in the SURVEY section and you could win an ARROW from us.
  19. @Jens - just because the plastics are the same does not mean the internals are the same. The pro chipset and design we have features: Dynamic frequency selection More antennas for greater diversity and range Higher heat tolerance A wider range of frequency bands Multi receiver capability 128 bit encryption A wide number of custom in house software optimizations and designs Furthermore we were first to market by over 6 months. June 1 2012 was our launch. Once imitators like start copying you I guess you should be flattered. Maybe a trade dress suit is in order. Before we hit the scene I don't think there was an ultra light ultra affordable solution for professional wireless HD. As I see it, we are still ahead of the game despite knockoffs and imitators entering the market. Would you fly a fake Chinese steadicam? That same concept applies to the pos knockoff you linked to on amazon.
  20. @Matthew - we are tracking a 6 to 8 week lead time before Crossbow will be available en masse.
  21. Robert and Chris - you are welcome to speculate on your own, however if you knew the Paralinx story I doubt you would be so dismissive. To get where I am now I spent 5 years of blood, sweat, and tears focusing on affordable wireless HD for motion picture camera use. Why? Because I am a cinematographer, and I don't like directors touching me like I'm a human pan-tilt head. I doubt you hand-make the panel in the cine tronic monitor, and I also doubt you created the LSI used to run it. Maybe I'm wrong and you are some kind of super star electronics genius that accodentally got involved in motion pictures. If that's the case you should probably be designing stuff for Arri, Pace Cameron, or TV Logic. Or maybe you are more like me. The kind of person who cannot be tamed. See, No Man is my boss. I don't answer to anyone else. I'm the founder of Paralinx, and I do this because I care about the capabilities it gives people. A nice side effect would be money - but it happens I haven't even taken a dollar home from this. I do it because I love it. I hope you can say that you consistently love what you do. As you know, we have vendors, and a nice partner in the name of Amimon - who is the only company in the world offering latency free HD video modem chipsets worth the silicon they are made of. You have no idea what goes into my designs, nor the trouble I had to go through to be able to make them. So, I would respectfully ask you to apologize for your indiscretion. If not, get back to me after you have created your own affordable wireless HD solution for motion picture use. Maybe I'll quit doing this, focus on shooting, and buy yours instead. Respectfully, Dan Kanes Founder Paralinx, LLC DirectorsMonitor.com
  22. Wow Guys - thank you for all the kind words - we really appreciate it. We are very accessible if you ever have any questions or concerns - please don't hesitate to shoot me an email at Dan@paralinx.net - happy to help in any way. If anyone is going to NAB this year - please stop by and say Hello - we will be appended to the SmallHD Booth with a small booth section of our own!
  23. Hi Ramon, Sorry you are having trouble using the PARALINX Arrow. Please see my list of questions below that will help us understand your quandary. Many users get over 300' line of sight range around the world - one of the things we pride ourselves on is customer service. 1. How many transmitters and receivers are on set? 2. How is the transmitter being powered? 3. How is the receiver being powered? 4. Is there Velcro blocking any vents? 5. Is the transmitter elevated from the camera using a noga arm 6. Is the receiver elevated on for instance a c stand arm? 7. Is there metal or other material blocking the transmitter and receiver? 8. Are Dfs bands 2 and 3 activated in the menu? 9. If you are using two systems at the same time you must power the second system (transmitter and receiver) 60 seconds after the first one. ^important. 10. How close are the two receivers to each other ? Two receivers too close together can cross talk and limit your range. When you say the signal drops does it drop in and back out quickly? Or you lose sync? Or does it say connected... Check source? What frequency are you sending from the camera / decimator / etc? Are you getting these results using one system or two at a time Pictures of the rig will help. The antennas are on the ends opposite the hdmi ports. It helps if they point at each other. I typically put the receiver on an antenna stand and use the proper hdmi to Sdi converter like black magic battery converter to distribute signal via bnc from there. AC/bnc x 2 snake to antenna stand never fails to work great. Follow the procedure of booting up the second system 60 seconds later you will be much happier. Can't make any claims on the atomos device but others use it and seem happy. You can contact me directly via dan@paralinx.net
