  1. If you flip only one of the two batt plates on the back they should counter balance them when you fly two batteries. That's how the Archer 2 is built and it works pretty well.
  2. Here: http://www.steadicamforum.com/index.php?showtopic=11595 and here: http://www.tiffen.com/images/content/U2_GimbalCentering.pdf
  3. I haven't tried either of the two, but there is a nice promo jor July 4 on the Arrow X, free DP7 OLED monitor! http://www.paralinx.net/id4
  4. Hey I had the same issue buying a DP7 HB. All High Bright have some level of light leak I was told since the LEDs are much brighter than what the matrix can really hold. This is much more than usual. Here are 4 different monitors with light leaks. https://scontent-lga1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xaf1/t31.0-8/10980184_10152719554971099_4059988526620489837_o.jpg https://scontent-lga1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpt1/v/t1.0-9/11015941_10152893998950528_7872366288511085702_n.jpg?oh=cea63c44e4915369835142b79cde311f&oe=56345296 https://scontent-lga1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xat1/v/t1.0-9/1488081_10155271421210352_9162749677631312037_n.jpg?oh=88a3cba3aa35d6361eb3603aa8d642c1&oe=561160D6 https://scontent-lga1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpt1/v/l/t1.0-9/1907585_842159035849933_6056883952466311888_n.jpg?oh=122d8206b747075e518013d79e966348&oe=562C7398 If you just bought it, I would recommend you return it and get another one (I ended up testing the monitor in the store to make sure)
  5. Sorry Randy, Bo just bought my Zephyr last week. Bo, hope you're having fun with your new gear. Fly safe.
  6. Not sure if it helps, but the same thing was happening on my Zephyr and I fixed it by tightening 3 screws in the donkey box. http://www.steadicamforum.com/index.php?showtopic=18259&hl=
  7. The camera is actually a prototype from Microsoft for their Hololens project which includes a bunch of sensors which would explain the huge amount of cables.
  8. Ken, only the first version of the Blackmagic converters require a 12v regulated cable. The new one can accept a wider range of power (12 to 31 VDC) . In Bo's case it would be from a single Anton Bauer on a Zephyr. Bo: Also look at this cable that Alan makes: http://mediablackout.net/product/dslr-regulator-cable/It will power your GH4 camera from the steadicam batterie. You won't need to remove the camera and reload a new battery and rebalance anymore. The battery model for the GH4 is Panasonic DMW-BLF19 and make sure to get the 12v 3 pin Lemo (0B.303) for the Zephyr side. Also, Blackmagic uses 2.5 DC Barrel plugs. (Alan, you may want to specify that in the DC barrel dropdown)

  10. Hi Kurtis, The best place to demo one would be at the Tiffen Steadicam in Brubank. Tiffen Steadicam 2815 Winona Avenue Burbank, CA 91504 Tel: 818 843 4600 I would also strongly recommend to attend to a workshop (at least a 2 day class, or private with a professional operator) as it will teach you the proper use of a Steadicam and how to operate one without hurting yourself. http://www.tiffen.com/steadicamworkshops/schedule.shtml
  11. I use my DSLR with my HDMI to SDI converter.
  12. It is always a pain, but I also think it is the accessory manufacturer's responsability to prevent for Murphy's law situations and protect their gear from reverse polarity at the very least. Looks like those SafeTap are going to help http://mediablackout.net/safetap-now-available/
  13. Anyone knows a tally system that can be used on the Cine Live?
  14. Is it the Marshall (Rebranded Steadicam) monitor? They tend to be very sensitive to polarity. It sounds that the cable you got was no made for the BMCC. if it is a Marshall monitor, I would recommend to call them too (along with Tiffen) Tiffen simply sends their monitor to Marshall for maintenance so why not skip a step (that's what I did and they replaced it for free)
  15. Thanks Janice! I actually just made an appointment with a financial adviser yesterday to plan for the future.
  16. Done. Also received my order yesterday. As usual great quality!
  17. Hi Kurtis, Yes the AB battery will power your monitor and for a very long time, much longer than the AA version. With Steadicam you want more weight, it gives inertia to your sled. If your camera is too light to counter balance, simply add a few weights on the top stage. I am not familiar with the Glidecam but I can tell you that the Pilot is a great machine, precise and robust
  18. Oh it is far from old technology. You are getting an extremely precisely machined piece of gear that will last a very long time. Congratulations on your purchase and welcome to the Steadicam community! make sure to read the book, and attend to a workshop if you haven't already. There is a learning curve and it is important for you to learn the right posture to avoid hurting yourself. Fly safe. V.
  19. You can send an email to Tiffen Steadicam and see what their stock is looking like. SteadicamProfessional@tiffen.com
  20. Is this still for sale? If so would you sell just one motor separately?
  21. SOA shirts are here! Get yours before June 22 (end of the campaign) ! http://teespring.com/steadicam-SOA-front-patch Hoodie and V-neck options also available.
  22. I heard that they are waiting on new PCB boards since the first batch had issues. No dates as of now.
  23. Yep. Chicken wire burried under a thin layer of sand does the trick
