M-one motor repair - concerned at getting its return.
Victor Lazaro replied to Kyle Fasanella's topic in Follow Focus
I wanted to have my motor sent to Peter Hoare, but because my motor deeded a pot replacement AND had a broken screw, I had to send it to Don for new parts. The trick is to pay him only when you get your motor back, then make sure to call him every other day. When you speak on the phone with him, make sure to ask him for a deadline of the next step and tell him you will call back to check up on it. Got my motor back after one month now everything works. -

I'm confused, 1. Is this your real name or the company you work for? This forum is a Real Name only. Please check with an admin to change your name. 2. You are advertising a brand without being a supporting member. Click Upgrade in the top menu to do so. 3. There are no links or descriptions, only the same picture, twice. What's going on? Did I win? I want free money, I like money. -
What case to use with the CineLive?
Victor Lazaro replied to Victor Lazaro's topic in Cases/Carts/Stands and Transport
Nice Hajin. One tip, get yourself a can of plastidip Performix 11203 Plasti Dip Black Multi-Purpose Rubber Coating Aerosol - 11 oz. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0006SU3QW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_61twxbXZ8P2T6 and spray your foam with it. It will reinforce it and make the pick and pluck more durable. http://youtu.be/krPqyF1qqy8 -
Hi MadSiss Productions. If you read the rules of the forum, we have a Real Name policy. You need to use your real name as your username. Please contact an admin to change that. It is hard to figure out what you are doing wrong without us seeing it. Make a video of yourself and maybe we can help.

Victor Lazaro replied to Zhongju Tan's topic in Steadicam Marketplace - Wanted
Tiffen now sells the Zephyr arm and vest separated (you even get a Ronin mount, Steadimate for free) great deal. -
Easy Steady arm and Proline Arm - how do they perform ?
Victor Lazaro replied to Vahe Abrahamyan's topic in Arms
The issue with tying to go cheaper with those expensive things is that you will find yourself with something that has potentially less efficiency, close to no re-sell value, no/limited customer service and maintenance. For the back mount only, this arm will limit you in your choice of vest. I know a few people who are unhappy with that and now have to sell everything and buy it all again just to change their vest.- 6 replies

WTB Zephyr Arm and Vest
Victor Lazaro replied to Zhongju Tan's topic in Steadicam Marketplace - Wanted
The Zephyr comes as a package. Arm vest and sled together. Doubt that someone will be willing to split. -
My first wireless video sytem
Victor Lazaro replied to Nelson reis 81's topic in Video Assist and Video Accessories
My first kit was a Paralinx Arrow HDMI transmitter, they are cheap and you can connect to the HDMI out on red cameras. Cheaper not is the Nyrius Pro: http://smile.amazon.com/dp/B0092T3E3A Also HDMI I would stay away from SD since it might deter some clients (they don't want to watch the image from their 6K camera in glorious SD. The AC will be pissed as well. I now have upgraded to a Teradek Bolt 300 since SDI is the way to go but still have my HDMI as a backup. Wireless Follow focus, get a used Bartech, I have an analog one, this this is built like a Panzer tank, will never break. Yea it's heavy and big but it will. never. break. (apart form motor maintenance now and then) -
Hi Greg, Welcome to the Steadicam Forum. This has been discussed so many times without a final universal answer. They are both good arms with pros and cons on each side. Please have a look at the archived posts prior to posting. Thank you. See if you can test them if some operators have them in your area. Personally I have a Pro Atlas and love it.

Atmos and Blackmagic have new 4K recorders/7in monitors. I still have my eyes on the Starlite for my rig ,but pricey though and 720p -
Hmmm. Are you keeping the fans on? Also you can reach out to SmallHD, they are super responsive and great people.

Can you elaborate on the "signal dropouts"? On SDI or HDMI? What kind of signal...?

Yoko Steady Stabilizer Support. Useful or just gimmick?
Victor Lazaro replied to King Julien's topic in General Discussion
Hi King. There are no stupid questions as long as you made some research first (which you seemed to have) the biggest issue with stabilization (both Steadicam and Movi gimbal's) is lifting the thing. For that, nothing beats an arm and a vest, even with a small rig. Your muscles can work in finesse or strength, but not both at the same time. Get the lifting off your hands so you can work in finesse. -
My guess is you will have more answers tomorrow, after NAB starts.

Please advise on Steadicam Scout purchase
Victor Lazaro replied to Michael Holmes's topic in General Discussion
+1 on the comments above. I had a zephyr for 3 years before upgrading. Using anything smaller for something like a Red will give you troubles. You will be pushing the scout to its limits and frustration will come. The great thing with Steadicam is that they last forever, a used one works just as well as a new one. A used zephyr goes around $6500 - $8000 depending on wear and accessories. It will avoid you having to buy twice. -
Need Advise on Building a Handheld Director's Monitor
Victor Lazaro replied to Marcio Bodnariuc's topic in Monitors
I use the wooden camera director monitor cage that I use with an AC7 OLED (lighter and cheaper than DP7) I power it all from one Anton Bauer battery that lasts forever. -
complete newb requesting help with pilot hd system
Victor Lazaro replied to MarcusC's topic in Steadi-Newbies
Wow Janice, great explanations. I was also thinking, make sure your vest is properly fastened to you. It should be tight (without stopping you from breathing) and the socket block should not move too much from your body if grabbed and pulled around. Make sure your vest looks centered on your body. If all fails, have someone make a small video of your issue we might be able to troubleshoot it from here. -
Directors Finder
Victor Lazaro replied to James Baldanza SOC's topic in Video Assist and Video Accessories
The issue is that DSLRs have a different sensor size APS-C (7D...) or full frame (5D) or MFT (GH2). None of which are the same size as super 35. APS-C is close but no cigar. Only the A7rII and A7sII have a super 35 crop option (to my knowledge).
