  1. Sony A7RII is a great DSLR right now since its sensor can be cropped to super 35 format (16x9). With a Wooden camera PL mount it can make a great director viewfinder/indie camera get a Paralinx Triton HDMI wireless and you've got a great wireless viewfinder that takes photos at the right format.
  2. Hi, the two knobs on one side are NOT to lock the monitor and battery post, the large knob on the other side will lock them both. The two knobs are actually the heads of pins holding the posts in place through the groove on each side of the two posts. To understand better, unscrew one of the small knobs completely you will be able to pull the knob away completely. You can then pull the two monitor and batt posts way further and reinsert the pin into the next groove. Hope that helps.
  3. Love my PRO Atlas arm! Smooth as butter and easy to use. Plus you have the upgrade program from GPI that allows you to exchange it for a Titan arm and only pay the difference when you are ready for more lift capacity.
  4. I won the Cine Live and I have not had any vibrations so far, even with a 3D rig and double F55. I have the Cam-Jam.de Quattro monitor bracket and this thing is super solid, no vibrations or flex on my DP7 even with a battery on it. Now the only potential source of vibrations I see is the battery hanger Gen 4 it flexes a bit if you press hard but has not bothered me yet. You can also upgrade to a Gen 3 which is more solid. I have no experience with the Betz stage, but I do like the design with rods vs PRO's diving board for the MDR. The only vibration issues I've had with this rig were form a crappy lens mound adapter on a heavy lens without support, completely independent form the sled model.
  5. I usually end the calibration right on the last mark and not on the hard stops. It usually pops off when the Ac reports the hand unit and the motor spins quickly to the position. I will have to look into a better dog bone. Good idea for the bongo across the other Rod.
  6. Hi, My M-One analog motor has this bad habit of slipping on the 15mm rod and getting disengaged from the lens now and then. Anyone has a good trick other than tightening the living hell out of the kipp handle?
  7. Hi, your issue is that your rig, while in static balance (camera horizontal while it's not moving), it is not in dynamic balance (it wobbles when you make it spin) Here is a great video explaining how to fix that: To eliminate the possiblity of a mechanical issue, check your gimbal centering: http://www.tiffen.com/images/content/U2_GimbalCentering.pdf I would also recommend if you haven't already, look into attending to a workshop to learn how to properly build your rig and operate it in a good posture to avoid injuring yourself. What rig are you using? Fly safe.
  8. Yes, the last firmware does have the option for high or low tally. However the firmware is marked beta because the HDMI inputs are having connection issues, which does not affect me at all when it is on my sled.
  9. Been wondering the same thing for a while, here is the answer form SmallHD's tech support. "The tally line has to be pulled to ground in order for the light to be activated. Many cameras will have a tally wire that can be attached to something like our 4 pin breakout cable. " Allan Rencher from Media Blackout is working on a tally system for the CineLive that will work with the DP7
  10. Love my bolt 300. The receiver it a bit large but the sidekick might be a nice second receiver.
  11. That's a great price for a Zephyr! I sold mine at that price last year. Amazing first rig, solid. For shipping, depending where you live a same day round trip might be cheaper and you get yo look at the rig at the sellers location before paying hand to hand.
  12. Now I just up Rez to HDSDI and use your standard monitoring system. My sled monitor works better in HD anyways so that how I go. Super cheap converter with little to no latency. Aja, Blackmagic or Decimator make them.
  13. Also try to find what other ops near you have. Google a brand/model and your city or region you may find some contacts to call.
  14. Great to hear Rey came to the rescue. Who planned a Zephyr for a film camera? It was obvious that this medium rig would not work at all.
  15. My monitor (DP7) does image flip and outputs it if needed, so I run the output back out to the transmitter via my second HD line when needed.
  16. Digital has the benefit of being auto calibrating, but they are more expensive. Analog can be used with a G-zoom to pull your own focus for live setups.
  17. Never tested any of these but this Letus looks similar to the Q branch Omega lite system http://www.omegalite.com
  18. The red rock is exclusively for their focus system. TheG-zoom is compatible with the analog Bartech and any eng style lens that have servos (Fujinon etc...) it also does focus, zoom and push to talk.
  19. Even with the Bartech analog, I would prefer to use the G-zoom rather than the one mad by Bartech. Much more ergonomic.
  20. For short screws, I love the Miller screws. Perfect for Steadicam dovetails. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/66747-REG And http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/66748-REG
  21. One important thing to remember when you shop for a wireless focus system. You will never use it, your 1ACs will. You need to make sure that they will know how to use it as fast and efficiently as possible. Bartech is straightforward, and everyone knows how to use it. DJI, not so much...
  22. Switronix Gold 98 are smaller and even work on Anton Bauer chargers. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1087366-REG
  23. My understanding is that the Dionic series batteries are not following the new regulations in place and they had to redesign them with a separator between each cell, hence the added weight and size.
  24. 4 years is really young for a sled, some ops are rocking 20 years old rigs, still rocking and flying great. Just thoroughly inspect your equipment, and even more so now that you ran int a failure. Keep flying and make great images, but above all, stay safe. PS: what kind of accident was it? when did it break? Did you get hurt? How can you avoid getting into this accident in the future?
