  1. Hey Alan, I believe it has something to do with Amimon's base firmware, though I dont know how far along they are. Our engineers are speaking with them again tomorrow so hopefully ill get a better idea. Again, this only affects our 1st gen Bolt 2000 and no other device.
  2. I just confirmed that the PSF issue is ONLY a problem on the 1st generation Bolt 2000. This is an Amimon quirk and is not something that we can fix in house at this time. We have been working with them to get this completed as quickly as possible. If you are experiencing this issue on any other of our Bolt models, please let me know ASAP. Lawrence, did you reach out to our Support team yet? What did they say?
  3. Hey Tim, Just landed at LAX and spoke with Blair at Teradek HQ. It looks like your device was shipped today and tracking was emailed to you. Let me know when you get the Bolt in hand. Again, very sorry for the delay in your repair. -Mike
  4. Tim, I am at IBC in Amsterdam so please give me a few days to get back and find out what happened here. I sincerely apologize on behalf of Teradek for the poor service you have experienced. No matter what happened, this is an unacceptable period of time to wait for a repair and there should never have been any delay in getting your unit back in house for a fix since you are covered under our warranty. Shoot me an email when you get a chance so I know how your Bolt broke. Mike Mike@teradek.com
  5. Hey Guys, I dont know if we'll be having a group buy again any time soon, but its not completely out of the question. The discount from the previous group buy ended up being 20% off any of our new Bolt systems. Quite a deal! Ill speak with the Sales guys about this to see what we can do. I imagine that if we do this again, it will likely be early next year. If you have any suggestions or ideas for a bundled group buy (i.e. Bolt + a gimbal), shoot me an email: mike@teradek.com
  6. What you describe happens when the unit is in Unicast Mode and loses connection with the RX for a significant period of time. The new firmware allows you to switch the unit into Broadcast Mode which not only significantly increases connection time, but it also avoids the power cycle issue (which only occurs in unicast mode). There is one drawback to Broadcast Mode: it cannot use DFS channels. On the other hand, Unicast Mode can use DFS, which gives you a couple more channels to transmit over in areas with a lot of interference. We're still working on the Unicast power cycle issue so we hope to have a fix some point soon.
  7. Lars / Brooks, If you update your units with the latest firmware, you can put it into Broadcast Mode which will speed up the connection time with the RX: http://www.teradek.com/pages/downloads#Bolt
  8. Everyone, If you have any problems with the order forms (or havent received them), please email me (mike@teradek.com) and copy Sales@teradek.com Thanks! Mike
  9. Alec, If you dont have the order form yet, shoot an email to sales@teradek.com and we'll send it off to you.
  10. Hey Guys, I wanted to give you a quick update about some of the new features coming out for the updated Bolt 300, 600, and 2000 models: 1. Manual frequency selection (just like Boxx) 2. LED signal strength indicator (no more guessing!) 3. Scaler on the RX (transmit at one resolution / manually choose what to output on each RX) -- this one will come out a little later 4. All units are multicast capable up to 4 receivers 5. 600 and 2000 models allow pairing of additional receivers in the field via the LCD screen 6. Battery plate mounts for all models. They will come in AB or V-mount or even Sony/Canon/Panasonic varieties. They can be single sided or dual sided. These are additional costs.
  11. Just send an email to Sales@teradek.com and express interest in the RED User Group Buy. However, I do recommend posting your interest on the RedUser thread or at least contacting Nick Fury who is running this offer (he is on this forum as well). I believe he is more or less the "list keeper" for all interested parties.
  12. Hi Evrim, Unfortunately, we do not. There will only be an upgrade program for the Bolt 2000.
  13. Hey Daniel, Sorry for the delay. The models have slightly changed since we announced them back at NAB. The 300, 600 and 2000 receivers all come with USB 3.0 outputs. The 600 and 2000 model TX come in HDMI only, 3G-SDI only, or dual input (HDMI and 3G-SDI). The new 300 model only comes in dual input. All dual input TX units come with dual output RX (HDMI and 3G-SDI + USB 3.0). If you get a single input model, you get a single output RX of the matching input you chose. Of course, you can mix and match if you like. Bolt Pro 300 (HDMI and 3G-SDI only units will still remain the same as the old model for now. There is only one new 300 model and thats the dual input / dual output) Dual Input: $2990 Bolt Pro 600 HDMI: $4990 3G-SDI: $5490 Dual Input: $5990 Bolt Pro 2000 HDMI: $7490 3G-SDI: $8490 Dual Input: $8990 *Note: The old Bolt 2000 receivers will work with the new Bolt 2000 system Bolt Pro 2000 Upgrade Program 1. Turn your old Bolt 2000 system in and add $500, you get a brand new Bolt Pro 2000 SDI input, SDI output + USB 3.0 2. Turn your old Bolt 2000 system in and add $1000, you get a brand new Bolt Pro 2000 Dual Input (SDI / HDMI) + Dual Out (SDI / HDMI) + USB 3.0

  15. Jamie, A response was sent to you this morning. The Sales team was out at a trade show in NYC this past week and so not every email was followed up on immediately. I hope a single late email doesn't ruin your entire opinion about our customer service. If you return your units for a refund, you can of course use your credit toward any Group Buy or regular purchase from our store (granted you're still within the 30 day window). Mike
  16. Jamie, Copy that. I have confirmation there indeed will be an upgrade program and as soon as I receive details, they will be posted. You must understand that NAB is literally a sprint to finalize our latest and greatest products. Fortunately, we managed to just about wrap up the new hardware in the nick of time, but we didn't have a chance to finalize the details on the upgrades (mostly because we don't even have pricing for the new 600 model or 300 model). We stand by our products and I regularly jump on here to make sure everyone's concerns and feedback are passed on to our management and engineering teams. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I want to be frank with you and I want you guys to trust that we have the best interest of our customers at the forefront of our decisions. Ill post as soon as I hear more.
  17. Mike, you've always been fair and helpful with me. But I have to disagree with you. The rx has been redesigned and includes HDMI output as well and an LCD display and is smaller. That looks to me like a significant change to a product that I bought only 5 weeks ago and I imagine the resale value of my already outdated 5 week old unit has been significantly reduced. No mention of these changes were mentioned at the demo I attended only 2 months ago! Lawrence, I completely understand where you're coming from and believe me, its happened to me before with audio equipment. While the performance should be just about the same, it is true the new chassis design offers a lot of bang for the buck. I've been told there will definitely be an upgrade program and we will do our absolute best to take care of the customers that bought just before these new updates. To be fair, the Sales team and I didn't even know about these devices until just 2 weeks ago! I will personally follow up with you as soon as I get more info about an upgrade process.
  18. I know you guys like zero delay systems, but Serv offers a whole new experience for on-set monitoring. The Teradek Serv is a groundbreaking camera-back and tabletop HD-SDI transmitter that allows your clients and production staff to view every shot in real-time on their smartphones and tablets. Serv supports up to 10 connections at a single time and transmits both HD and SD video & audio in perfect sync over dual band WiFi. Since Serv utilizes WiFi networks, you can easily extend its range by adding any standard dual band router to your setup. But what about latency on my phone or tablet? Don’t sweat it. Serv transmits at just 4 frames of delay and is compatible with Teradek’s TeraView application, which lets you view and record up to 4 live feeds simultaneously on your iPad or Samsung Galaxy Pro Tablet at the same 4 frame latency. But TeraView must cost something, right? Nope! Its absolutely free. The application also supports 3D LUT filetypes, allowing you to transform your live video feeds into a gorgeous post-production look. Even better, you can load any custom 3D LUT filetype by connecting your Serv and smartphone or tablet to the same IP network video village utilizes. Serv will be showcased along with our other products at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB), from April 7-10, 2014 at Booth C8218.
  19. Tom, Not right now. They're using different chipsets so compatibility is not easy right off the bat. We are still looking to find a way for cross-compatibility.
  20. Hey Jess, We actually already have a new fan-less RX for the existing Bolt Pro system. Its about the same size, has better mounting options , and is now half metal half plastic. I believe the upgrade price is $250, but ill have to double check on that for you. I don't have a picture on me at the moment, but I will post when I do get one. As for the latest RX units w/ GRAB and LCD, we're certainly looking to make them compatible with older Bolt Pro systems, but I haven't received word on if and when that will happen. Jamie, Thanks for the kind words! :) We are definitely looking into the best way to upgrade our existing customers. Will post an update as soon as I can.
  21. Lawrence, The Bolt 2000 is not out of date. The same chip/board in that unit is the same in the current unit - we just updated the chassis. In fact, the TX is almost identical, except it now has dual inputs (HDMI + 3G-SDI) instead of only 3G-SDI. We are evaluating trade in and upgrades programs and should have more info after next week. As a heads up, I'm going to be traveling to Vegas today for NAB so I apologize for any delayed responses.
  22. Performance-wise, the 2000 should operate similarly to the previous model. The boot up time is an issue with Amimon's chipset firmware and we've been doing our absolute best to get them to fix it. We'll be sure to bring it up with them again at NAB next week.
  23. Bolt Pro 2000 w/ dual input TX (HDMI and 3G-SDI) and new RX is the same cost as it is now: $7990 Bolt Pro 600 is TBA, though it will be priced between the Bolt Pro 300 and Bolt Pro 2000. Bolt Pro 300 w/ dual input (HDMI and 3G-SDI) and new RX is also TBA. Price is likely to be $2990. Ships this summer. The new GRAB Engine receiver is also TBA, though it should not be far from the standard 600 & 2000 model RX cost. We are evaluating upgrade paths. These will be announced shortly.
