  1. Well according to your profile, "Stabilizer Owner Yes - For big cameras" Looks like you are all set!
  2. Afton, I have the same problem with the gen1.. Last day I worked I had to tighten those 2 screws a few times. I now keep a large phillips head on my dock next to my allen. Loctite might do the trick.. but I pull these out when I break my sled down at the end of the day..so not really an option for me.
  3. I run a Pro rig, but I can always buy the docking ring and balancing studs to fit my rig if they dont match.
  4. Looking for a gorelock 2 with balance bracket. thanks!
  5. Victor, tape might help, but this is a design flaw.. Just plugging and unplugging the cable over and over will eventually loosen it up and cause it to come apart.
  6. Be aware of tension put on the connectors.. I have been using 2 hyperdecks a lot for the past 6 months or so, and I have had the connector come apart on both. Its really a crappy design..the outer shell of the connector is just pressed into a block, it should be made as one piece, or soldered in. If it happens, dont try and push it back in, you risk cracking the circuit board... take the unit apart, and pull the board out. Put the rear of the connector block on something to support it, then use a deep, small socket, or small pipe that fits on the lower lip, but clears the sides of the connector (you do not want to mar the sides) then press it back in. This allows you to avoid putting the pressure directly on the circuit board.
  7. Shawn... I'm sorry, but you are clueless about this... You should take your sales pitch to some other site where they may believe it... You gave your opinion about what you think.. good for you... How do you think that you are going to all of a sudden be a good operator because you now have a movi onboard? You are basically saying that you are going to be as good or better than many of the veteran, skilled operators here because of the movi.. and I am sure that is insulting to many... but the facts remain: A good op will not need roll or tilt correction and has "extremely fine tuned pan and tilt control" which really makes the movi pretty useless on a steadicam. A cheap production that cant afford a good op surely wont want to pay rental on a movi.... and a production with a good op wont need one.
  8. Shawn, please do post some of your footage using a movi on a steadicam. You make a lot of claims what a movi on a steadicam will do... now back it up with your footage. Also post some pictures of a movi mounted on a steadicam... With all the talk of mounting a movi on a steadicam, I still dont think I have seen it... A movi on a steadicam really wont allow the dp to control how the shot is framed... it will still be up to the operator to have the sled in the correct position and the correct height... it doesnt matter what is mounted, the steadi op still controlls where it is... controlling the tilt and pan is not framing. Maybe you need to take a film school class.
  9. The crossbow is terrible. It looks like a bad afterthought... Because of the size and no loop through, I probably wouldn't buy it if it was $100.00.
  10. It made me tired just thinking about trying to do that.. well done as always John.

  12. I doubt anyone here has one of these. You have the link to the manufactures web site... maybe contact them.
  13. I'd like to see it too, let me know when its out..
  14. I may be wrong, just going off old fuzzy conversations on these, but I seem to remember that the earlier model did not have the torque settings, while the later did. Can someone with an early model verify? Also, you can not upgrade the MDR1 to work with the HU3, while you can with the MDR-2.. thats why there are so many HU-2s for sale for next to nothing. If someone does call PCS, please post the info here.
  15. Dana, I was there yesterday as well with a few tech questions.. Jack always has time for his customers, the guys/girl over there are great!
  16. Looks great Chris, keep up the great work!
  17. You can ship it out of state to avoid paying taxes...however the item is suppose to be used out of state as well, and many companies will have you sign a statement that it is for out of state use.
  18. Alan, I hope you are getting some kind of cut from them.....
  19. Two local places I can think of that are in the valley are FilmTools and AbelCine. Not sure if they carry the bolt, but I just bought mine at teradeck.com
