  1. Purchased as backup, don't need it. Have all the original cables and packaging....$400
  2. yup, maybe that's why because I tend to max the capacity frequently
  3. Hi guys, My gimbal seems to prefer a specific orientation, which really becomes apparent in Low Mode or when I am flying on say a 45 degree tilt (this does not seem to be an issue for me when the post is vertical). So if I am balancing my rig with a 45 degree tilt the camera will slowly but surely drift to point a certain direction. This phenomenon forces me to adjust left/right balance on the stage to compensate for this drifting when I am rotated to a specific off-axis point. I think my gimbal may have been stressed with too heavy of a load. I am relatively new operator and I would really appreciate the advice from you guys on what to do or if you have had a similar issue? Should I have the gimbal re-serviced at Steadicam or tested somewhere else professionally? Is it something I can fix myself? Thanks, Pascal
  4. I tried to brace the crack using an 1/8" thick aluminum strip and "Guerilla Glue" epoxy resin but the glue did not bind to the aluminum nor the plastic vest very well at all. The brace actually worked great until it came off after two days of use. Any suggestions on an adhesive that would work well here, JB weld maybe? Should I instead find someone who can professionally repair this? Or maybe Tiffen has some sort of lifetime warranty? I appreciate the advice please let me know what you think! Thanks, Pascal
  5. Very informative posts thank you guys! Jjust bought 2 HL9s batteries.
  6. Trying to replace one my cracked Steadiam PowerCube batteries... Should I really spend the $500 premium to buy a new PowerCube or am I fine buying this IDX for $329, for example. Not really sure what the difference is. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/382101-REG/IDX_E_10S_E_10S_Endura_Lithium_Ion_V_Mount.html I have Flyer LE which can go 24Volts maybe it's better with higher voltage? As a side question for what cameras do I even need 24 volts? I've been flying a lot of RED and I've never had had to switch to 24. Thanks, Pascal
  7. My Flyer LE just received a power surge and subsequently, my 7" SD Composite monitor vertically compresses/squeezes the image, when I am in my desired "full" (16:9) mode. HOWEVER, when I I switch the monitor to "normal" (4:3) mode the compression disappears as it letter boxes the sides, showing my 16:9 image at a smaller than desired size. There is also a high pitch humming sound when powered on and additionally there is a subtle white pulse every second or two (only pulsing when there is no signal). Before the surge I could use all 7" of my screen to frame and now I have 4" or 5" since I have to use it in "full" mode. I'm guessing this monitor is beyond repair but i'm just very curious as to why it is acting this way. Thoughts? Does anyone have an extra Flyer monitor for sale? Lol Pascal
  8. Terry West is currently looking at my Decimator unit, but need one for a shoot tomorrow (3.8.13). Anyone have a spare one or know where I can rent today? I live in OC. Thanks, Pascal pcombesk@gmail.com
  9. OK I'm sold on the Paralinx cus my Decimator2 can do simultaneous Composite / HDMI out!
  10. Hey everyone, I'm just about happy with my Flyer LE (24lb) setup - I just need wireless video tap. I'm willing to spend as much as the Paralinx arrow...are there any other units I should consider (maybe with different pros and cons) or is the Paralinx the obvious choice? Thanks, Pascal
  11. Thanks for the advice everyone. FYI the components were haphazardly thrown on just to test weight, not to function for a shot. Questions answered - looks like ill go Red Epic!
  12. Well I just got out of camera prep and here is a photo, with no lift from my arm hand. Clearly, you can see how close the articulated arm is from snapping!
  13. my rig has the "manufactures defect" where it can actually go 24lbs
  14. I appreciate this advice. Assuming I can strip it down to under 24 lbs with compact primes and clip on matte box my only concern is the the thick cable tether....do you think that is manageable or do you actually think im asking for failure?
  15. Hey guys, I'm a fairly new operator and I have a 3 day shoot coming up with the F65 on my Flyer LE (24lb). As far as I know I can only power from a tethered brick is that true? If this is the case what is the best way to minimize the cord's influence? I had a different shoot where I wrapped the HDMI cable around my wrist then tucked into my vest but it was still difficult to compensate for its tug. Otherwise is there any way I can power the camera from my sled? I would love to hear feedback from you guys. Thanks, Pascal
  16. Hey guys, A production company found my website on a google and they want to rent my rig (their usual guy is out of town). Will asking for a deposit turn them away or should I not worry as long as we have a contract with insurance? What is most important that I include in the contract? I'm not sure what the standard practice is for rentals.. Let me know from your experience, Thanks guys! Pascal
  17. Looking for full follow focus setup for my Flyer LE rig. Please email pcombesk@gmail.com Thanks! -Pascal
  18. Please email me pcombesk@gmail.com thank you! This is for my Flyer LE rig
  19. I need follow focus for my new flyer LE. Considering im on a student budget should I still only consider bartech as an option? If I buy a used BFF what should I expect to pay? I found a Bartec handset and receiver and Heden M26P motor for $2500 I feel like thats a good deal but i dont have a n experienced perspective. Lastly, should I be worried about a used unit without warranty or are BFFs pretty invincible? Thanks in advance!
  20. Hey guys, I'm trying to run my Canon 7D on my new Flyer LE. Do I need to buy this stock cable and use an adaptor (http://www.amazon.com/Canon-AVC-DC400-Interface-PowerShot-Cameras/dp/B001L658L8) --or is there a more efficient/direct cable that if does not exist someone could make for me? thanks you!
  21. Thanks for the advice guys. I think I will buy the Decimator2 to transform the SDI to an analogue signal. But in the meantime is it possible to run a yellow RCA cable from the camera to the sled using female RCA to male BNC adaptors (if that exists) at each end?
  22. Hey guys I just bought the Flyer LE and am having problems getting the right signal to the monitor. I'm currently using the Panasonic HPX250p which has an SDI out and when I run a BNC from the camera to the sled I continue to see "no signal." I'm worried because I am flying the Sony FS700 for a shoot in three days and it has the same SDI out. Should't an SDI out feed to a standard def monitor through BNC? Is there a setting in the camera i need to change or will I need to run the signal thought a Decimator first to downres? Thank you in advance!
