  1. Thank you Steve to chime in. As I understand its not tool to adjust horizon like a one axis gimbal (which should completely lock it) more to smoothen the movement and to counteract against little mistakes in operating. Right? Or is it possible to adjust the degree of correction, until sudden harsh unwanted movements, for ex. with wind? Do you have any idea about the pricing yet? I guess in Europe it will be sold over Tiffen UK or Betz, Germany? Thank You, Marc
  2. I would like to know more about it too. Nobody had the chance to test it?
  3. Hi Ming, last year was a group buy of the actionproducts "Raptor". Now, some people sell their gear again. Have a look over at reducer.net here is one seller: http://reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?114376-Action-Product-Raptor&highlight=raptor This is a incredible great rig at a very low price. It´s modular and works until 35lbs. I work with it and I love it. Cheers, Marc
  4. Hi John, this is a robust, but cheaper solution: http://www.igus.eu/wpck/2359/drylin_sht?C=DE&L=en Just take two and mount the crosswise. It´s a big solution, finally not very low profile, but you said you don´t need it for steadycam reason. Cheers, Marc
  5. Thanks again to everybody for your advises! I will propose them all to my physiotherapist. Great members on this forum. Fly safe with fun, Marc
  6. Found this: I made exactly this exercise over one month before I went to the physiotherapist. I´ve got it from a yoga teacher. In my case it did not help a lot. Jamie you remind me about the trigger point release therapy I had years ago for my back pain. Helped a lot...I have to google your other toys now. Basically I see I have to become a bit more patient about it. It´s always hard to accept long during healing processes.
  7. Jens, I´ll say to my physiotherapist to put the current up! we will see...very interesting.
  8. Hello, the title says it all. Since a couple of months I suffer from a tendinitis (Achilles). It is very painful and I had to stop operating for more then a month. I have medical, physiotherapeutic treatment. I startet a diet too to get my weight a bit down, but also to get the uric acid lower. Now, what else could I do to support the healing process? I appreciate every advise very much. Thank you Marc
  9. They have the best customer support I ever experienced in France! Incredible fast, nice, 100% professional in every respect. I love my Cine HD6" SBL. Great to know I can Upgrade to the eSBL.
  10. Hi Craig, just want to second Lars Erik´s post. Buy the steadicam operators handbook. Studying it makes you want to take a workshop, which is a great thing: It saves you a lot of time and gives you the insides you´ll need to make a good decision. I never looked back to the the money I spent on the first workshop, and will for sure invest some more in the future. Cheers!
  11. Thank you Frederic for this feedback and your invitation! The next time I´m in Munich I will contact you with pleasure, will send you a e-mail in advance. BTW your 3D printing for the yoke looks very interesting. Is it strong enough? Cheers, Marc
  12. Hi Robin, is there a dealer in Munich where it would be possible to test it? (Betz?) Thank you and Happy New Year! Marc
  13. http://actionproducts.ch Their products are sold over: http://www.innocinema.com/eu/ one is located in Switzerland the other in US
  14. The orange bits are the center of gravity kit from Transvideo. http://www.transvideo.eu/Archer-Ultra-Center-Gravity-Kit
  15. No, I´m using the D-tap from the battery pack. I´m sorry, I can´t post a picture until next week.
  16. I just got the same a couple of weeks ago. I use them with a Transvideo HD 6". Love it too, so easy to adjust side to side balance... Merry Christmas.
  17. I love my action products arm too. After I took a Tiffen workshop I was looking for a quality rig min. comparable with a Archer 2 (G50X arm). Actionproducts was the one who was winning in my eyes if it comes to a comparison price-quality for my budget. Without compromising high-end quality (and service) they offer two super smooth arms. I startet with the raptor and could not be happier right now. I loved the high end Tiffen rigs at the workshop (from Archer upwards) and I´m sure Pro and Betz are great, but I can honestly say my Raptor arm is as smooth as a G50X (at a fraction of the price).
  18. Hi Tilman, you should try them all. That´s the best advice I can give you. Some of your questions will be immediately answered. Archer 2 is a great rig. The Raptor is much cheaper, more versatile if it comes to modularity, and a great rig. Compared to those rigs, the Zephyr is another class. I don´t want to say something bad about the Zephyr, because a lot of people like it and work well with it, but 100% sure you would like to change a Zephyr much earlier for a bigger rig then a raptor. I don´t have problems to obtain dynamic balance with the Raptor. My gimbal works fine, and yes there are for sure better gimbals, but they cost nearly as much as the whole raptor. So, this said, the Raptor is not for the one who looks for the highest end rig at any price, it´s just simply one of the best rigs IMHO if it comes to low end in price and high end in quality. BTW if I would not have the raptor I would go for Eric´s actioncam rig. You are so well located. Just make some appointments at Sachtler, Betz tools and actioncam. I strongly recommend you to visit a workshop and then to compare personally the rigs at a nearby dealer. Every cent you invest in a workshop is well invested, but you can throw a lot of money out of the window by buying a rig by it´s description.
  19. Hi Tilman, just my 2cents about the action cam: The Raptor is far better then a zephyr, it´s about the class of a archer. IMHO Max Volokh is not exaggerating, when he compares the elite with the top rigs out there. I know, action products is not as popular then others, but they produce some of the finest rigs. You don´t live far away from action products headquarter. You should just go there one day and test it yourself. From Stuttgart it should not be longer then a 3 hour drive.
  20. Like Eric said, modular is the key to the one sled! If you´re looking for a real modular rig beside Pro and XCS at a decent price, you should also have a look at actionproducts rigs. http://www.innocinema.com/eu/actioncam-rebelelite-sled.html I know their rigs are not so popular in the US, because it´s a swiss manufacturer. But they have now a shop and service in the USA. I just recently bought the new Raptor rig and I could not be more happy. At the price range of a Zephyr (Raptor plus Transvideo 6"sbl) I´ve got a grown up rig (until 38lbs). What I especially like about it- beside it´s smoothness- is the modularity. Just as a example: It´s possible to buy longer tubes to make a 2m sled, I wire different cables through the post within minutes, it´s possible to add breakout boxes wherever you need it, rod spacing from 15mm/ 60mm large until 19mm/100mm large, 12volt or 24 volt swap packs...and so on. Have a look on their website. It´s a small company with a great quality and service...and reasonable prices.
  21. Yeah, they call Ezequiel a "Farceur" means "Joker" and laugh about the joke...then they talk about the camera "worth at least 5000.-". All those comments are a joke and nothing less then discusting, like the whole attack. They all didn´t got how serious it can be to fall over like that with a rig attached to the body.
