  1. Good post!

I would like to add (More fro sellers): Double check your PayPal account when you receive money!!! There is a lot of fraud with wrong messages about money sent to you. They make it look like they sent you money which is unlocked after you'll sent them the tracking number of the parcel. This kind of transactions is only to get access to your PayPal account. Normally by checking your Paypal account before answering them makes it clear they didn't send anything.

Hope you understood, my english is not the best.

  2. Ryan, try a Raptor and try the zephyr. As I told you before, the big advantage of the raptor is the ability to service it by yourself, and outfit it for your special needs. On the other hand, the zephyr is well serviced by Tiffen and you can resale it easier (as you can see).

The most expensive part of a good rig is the time for practice. All these hours of practicing should be done with a professional rig you like and feel comfortable and is able to go on set too.

So really, try and then buy! Take your time to make a good choice for you.

  3. Hi Janice, nice topic!

This reminds me about a very important moment in my professional life: I was frustrated because I did´t got what I expected to be paid .Normally I was sitting with my clients in a meeting room, discussing the job and then give a approx. quote before leaving the round table. Often I did´t asked enough because it was a interesting job and I was exited about it. I wanted to change my behavior, because I knew it´s me and not the clients wallet who was responsible for my "underpaid feeling" (I was often working as a freelancer in advertising for big companies). I spoke to a good friend about it. He is in psychology. He told me the next time I should leave the meeting room without giving a quote and tell them I' ll phone them the next day. It took me all my courage to do so, but I did. My client was a bit shocked, he said I should be professional enough to give him a quote straight away...I was tempted, had a budget in my head, but I kept myself back....before I left the meeting room my client turned too me and told me about the budget he thinks to spend for the job to be done . I still resisted to give him a answer. The next day I told him that I would gladly accept his offer....Well, I should add, the budget in my clients head was exact the double from mine!

Now, I always wait a bit before I give my quote.

  4. When I bought it I had to make the same decision. But now, I would rather compare the build quality from the raptor with the archer then the Zephyr. I´m using it with the normal springs (not the heavy weight ones) and my average setup is around 12 kg. I don´t think they have a office in Australia, but you can easily change a cable running through the post yourself. And they have such a great service and are very responsive and friendly, so the distance should not be a problem.

  5. Are Actioncam considered any good? There products look very interesting and the Raptor system looks very cool and almost affordable. (Or I have converted the currency totally wrong)

Actioncam are fantastic rigs! I have the Raptor rig with a slightly upgraded sled. I love it. IMHO the arm is as smooth like all the other professional arms (PRO, G-50, G-70...), the vest is very comfortable, the sled modular. You should try the actioncam Nathaniel. It is a topnotch rig. And as your skills get better you´ll be able to upgrade here and there. You can change the springs to adjust the weight range...
