  5. Hello Akiko and welcome to the Forum! First of all don't buy anything without trying it. Especially the Vest could be a problem considering your cup size. The most obvious way as suggested to every novice is to attend a workshop where you'd learn the basics and try different rigs. If time is an issue due to your project in October and there is no workshop in that timeframe you could ask for a Operator near you to show you the basics and help with selecting a rig based on your needs. Maybe the guys you cold find via google https://goo.gl/dfvc24are willing to help. Best, Ben
  6. Any news there? I'm in the market for a new HD RX/TX setup... can't decide really. This one may be the golden ticket?

  8. Hello guys, I need some advice. I am planning to buy some new (or used) batteries for my hopefully soon ariving new sled. (Most likely mid july, therefore I'll need the batteries around the same time) Seems like the Dionic HC are still the gold standard in the Steadicam world but im worried because its an a little bit dated product and (right now) way more expensive than the G90. The G90. It seems they don't get much love from the Steadicam world and paul promised an alternative which is finally here but most likely won't be available early enough for me. Hint: Trade-In for new G90s once the XCell are finally here? Also these weird looking new chargers called "Performance" gathered my interest. Long story short: What's the way to go for a 6 Battery setup with a deadline around mid july? Thank you guys.
  9. Just watched the Sense8 Trailer on Netflix. One of you guys made it in to the Trailer ;)

  16. What the hell? Is there a way to bring in serious complaints about this jerk like the FIS or whatever?
  17. That's great info about the workshop in Muinch. But the website you're linking says 14-17 May 2012 (a typo?) It's great to have an alternative so near but I'd ask whats the better choice? The price difference is pretty enormous...
  18. Thank you for the response. If there are places free I'll definitely take the workshop. Thank for for the offer Evrim. :D
  19. Hello, This is my first post after reading here for about 2 years and I'm overwhelmed by this community. So first of I am 20 years old and love framing the best shot I can imagine. My whole family is in the Film/Broadcast Business and so the infected me with the passion for moving images. I've been on sets since I can remember and I did my first short as I was 9. Meanwhile I work in a theater and my position is called "Multimedia" (If I tell that to someone who has no theater experience, they have no idea what I'm doing). Back to topic. Since I'm 16 I do little film projects. Music videos. Some corporate stuff and so on. I am facinated by Steadicam since I first saw a operator on set where my mother did the costumes. On the first project where the budget allowed it I rented a glidecam to try that "feel". I loved it from the first moment. Now to my question: I got the mail with the information about the next Gold Workshop in Istanbul and I was completely exited! In the registration form it says: "The requirement for students is simply that they have camera experience ...." Would you say that the amount of experience I have is enough after what I told you? I'm pretty sure that Steadicam is what I really want to do and need your help to decide my next steps. I also thought about buying a used Zephyr but after reading here for this time I think the workshop is the better use of money at this point. Thank you all for what I already learned from simply reading your correspondence. And thank you in advance for even thinking about my problems. Sincerely, Benedict Heinzl PS: I already read the Operators Handbook cover to cover.
