  1. One of the two is now on eBay, ending Thursday, 8:30PM CEST http://www.ebay.de/itm/351107038542?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1558.l2649 Happy Bidding :)
  2. Hi all, after a recent request for just the 3rd Axis that fell through last minute, I've reviewed our use of the weavers and decided to sell one of my Steadman Weaver Heads including the 3rd Axis. This is a great and very solid Mitchell-Mount Head that is incredibly flexible to setup, using different lengths of tubes. Google finds several versions of PDFs of the manual, for example, look here: http://djwoods.com/manuals/Weaver-Steadman%20Inc./weaver_steadman_man.pdf It's in good condition with a few signs of use of course, but working perfectly smooth. This one includes all the bells and whistles including the dutch angle bracket and the long base plate, to max out its versatility. 2-Axis Head including custom Flight Case: USD 4200.- (The new price for just the 2-Axis head was over $10,000.00) 3rd Axis Module: USD 1900.- Both as a package for USD 5700.- (good choice, as these parts have been together since new) Or make an offer! Pictures will follow shortly. If interested please answer, PM, or email to my gmx address: heliflight a-t gmx d-o-t net Will happily ship worldwide, please ask for costs. Thanks :)
  3. Hi ed, thanks for your interest, I got in touch via PM. For everybody else interested, please send me a PM with your details, and we'll figure out the details :)
  4. This has been SOLD. And doesn't even need to travel very far :) Thanks Thomas!
  5. Hey Thomas, 11Lbs. Thats 5Kgs. It's perfect for just about any rig with a DSLR setupor the like - not too heavy, which is good for midsized rigs and arms, and your back! on bigger rigs, and not too light to have only a limited effect. To my Zephyr it was a perfect match, but it's great for any bigger sized rig either.
  6. I have used the Nyrius with that very same HD-SDI converter and it works a treat! Awesome value for money! And here you get in in an all-you-need right there package with cables. Great deal.
  7. Thanks Dave, very glad you like it every day :) Sounds like a great idea, Sam! I'll get in touch with you.
  8. I recently got a Pilot to design the Gimbal Grip for it, now as design is finished, it's up for sale - including a new Grip of course. For details about the Wrap Grip, which makes the Pilot feel (and look :) ) much more like a "real" bigger rig look here: http://www.steadicamforum.com/index.php?showtopic=20614 Actually I ended up getting two full kits, both are like new and almost unused. It's tempting to keep one - I've missed mine since I upgraded, but it doesn't really make sense, I don't have enough work with cameras that lightweight, so both are ready to make a beginner happy for a long time, or make your back happy if you're looking for a lightweight rig for certain jobs. It comes complete with Vest, Arm, Sled, Docking Bracket, Tools, Original Bag, all original accessories. If you look at the photos you'll see there are pretty much no signs of use, the monitor on one even had it's original protection cover on it when it came. Gimbals are perfectly balanced and they will perform like brand new. Located in Munich, Germany - shipping worldwide is no problem. If you pick it up locally, coffee and an intro will be provided of course :) EUR 2300,- plus shipping (plus VAT, if you're in Germany) Offers welcome All the best -Frederic
  9. The design is now finished, the solution to make it perfect was a Kipp excenter lever, so it won't get in the way of your fingers ever. The first ones have shipped, looking forward to your feedback :)
  10. Hey Ramon, I have mounted my Samurai Blade using a custom Made Yoke. I can grab a pic for you when I get a chace. Its basically a U-Shaped mount connecting to both 1/4" threads, kind of like a monitor yoke, just 90° off connecting to top and bottom, making it very stable. That way I can mount it to my Zephyr monitor / battery rods and look at it from the top. Where exactly would you like it to connect to the sled? Depending on where, I guess I could easily modify my mount for you to make a nice custom solution ;)
  11. I thought it might be attached to an invisible hovercraft by default and you don't need screws to a vest anymore, but sadly, no... To be fair to Tiffen though, I just checked and those 6 screws, I think, were actually included. However, the 2 adjustment wing screws, which even are in the picture, were not. They set me back an additional EUR 12.50 + VAT per piece (not kidding!).
  12. Hi Nathan, I'm using my Zephyr with an Exo and it's an awesome package. This: http://www.tiffen.com/displayproduct.html?tablename=steadicam&itemnum=803-7801 is all you need. Why in the world they list that under Accessories -> vest when there is a "socket block" category... Who knows ;) Oh, and make sure you tell them to send the 6 screws to mount it, and the 2 adjustment screws. Mine arrived without them because, don't laugh, as I was told then, "I didn't order them".
  13. Hi, I am selling my 11lbs weight plate. For those who don't know, search the forums about the awesome quality and versatility of Janice's plates. Comes with 4 screws so can be upgraded to a cage with another plate and 4 rods anytime. I've used it on two jobs and it's like new, no signs of use, no different from a brand new one, really. I just don't do much of the light setups on steadicam anymore, so it's yours to grab. The plate is located in Germany, so if you're in Europe, that means a substantial savings on shipping and customs for you. Paid about EUR 300 for it (shipping from US, customs, VAT...) EUR 230 plus shipping. DHL Shipping: Germany - EUR 7 EU - EUR 20 Rest of Europe - EUR 35 US: A new one from Janice will make more sense I guess ;)
  14. Hi Herman, sure. At the lower end of the outer post is the clamp you use to extend or shorten the post (you see it at the very bottom of the first picture). This clamp, when opened allows the inner (lower) post to slide in and out of the outer (upper) post. It is fixed to the outer post by a friction-lock screw, and the orientation is locked by another little set screw, you'll easily see this when you look at your pilot. Remove those 2 screws and you can slide the clamp down from the outer post onto the inner post. You can now pull the inner post out of the outer post and see 2 cables in there. Slide the cables into the grip through it's opening slit along the front, and you can now easily slide the grip onto the upper post. Reassemble the clamp. Put in the friction-adjustment screws and the friction-clamp screw into the grip, adjust fit, aaaand done. It' really easy and takes no more than 5 Minutes if you've done it before and shouldn't take more than 10 the first time :)
  15. Hi, as already promised to a number of you guys, here are the first pictures and details of the new Pilot gimbal grip. After the Zephyr Gimbal Wrap Grip (see http://www.steadicamforum.com/index.php?showtopic=19778), it became clear that ops of some other models might like a bigger grip diameter, too. Now the nice little pilot, which I adored while I started Steadicam with it, doesn't have a gimbal grip at all. Now you can have one! It's got a 1.7" Diameter which fits the rig size of the pilot very well, and is also a perfect fit for the gimbal. It comes with an integrated friction lock, so unlike the gimbal itself moving it is tool-free. (Right now there's a kipp miniwing on it, and located so it doesn't get in the way, but still it may be changed for a clamp or..., currently testing options). The grip is made from one piece, so feels perfectly smooth, and has an opening down the front to make installation easy. (Seperate the posts in the middle -2screws-, route the cables through the opening of the grip, slide it on, put posts back together, adjust the grips fit with 2 screws that are hidden inside the grips diameter, insert friction lock screw, done.) It's been tested for a while now and is a great improvement over just grabbing the carbon post. The first ones will be ready in about two weeks. Pricing will be just like the Zephyr Grip, as it's pretty much the same material and effort: USD 120 / EUR 90 plus shipping (plus VAT if you're in Germany). USD 15 / EUR 10 gets your name printed on it (see the Zephyr thread for how that looks). DHL traceable shipping to US: USD 25,- Europe: EUR 15,- Germany: EUR 5,- Looking forward to your feedback :)
  16. Hi, I'm selling my Redrock Micro microTape rangefinder which works pretty much exactly like a Cinetape. http://store.redrockmicro.com/microTape Used it on two projects and it's awesome! Assistants loved it (me too!), its quite accurate and the displays on both sides are big and easy to read, and also very well visible even in bright sunlight. Also its very solid and well built. It's only three months old, has full warranty and still looks just like a new one, no signs of use. I just don't see myself using it in the next months, so it's up for sale. Comes with original 9V-block cable and an actually useful D-Tap cable that cost EUR 75 extra. Located in Munich, Germany, bought new from official German redrock dealer 3 months ago so it has full EU-Warranty. Paid EUR 699 plus 75 for the cable, so 775,- plus VAT, and would like to get 675 plus VAT (VAT will only apply to sales inside Germany). Photos just added as promised =)
  17. Hey Herman and Alan, a handle for the pilot is actually in the making. I got a pilot in specifically for that purpose last week and the second protorype exists now. Stay tuned, first infos should be released this week =)
  18. Hi Peter, Thanks for your assistance as one of the first ever users! I had the front pads all the way to center against their stops. I'm kind of Skinny, so they would touch at the sides otherwise, but as instructed by Chris and you and others, I'm moving them out to the sides now and will try. I will do this without raising the vest up higher and the other way around and report back. I have a feeling itsvthe pads being to close together in front rather thsn the vest sitting too low, as its sitting at the correct height, but results will show. My dock is actually close by all the time in this studio, but otherwise a second would be critical. I do dock as often as practicable and will try to do it more. I certainly agree with you and everybody that the kind of "steadiped" use, as ron names it, that this production asks for is not optimal. Next to trying to reduce those requests, I will also pursue the "steadiport" idea to make it easy, as first tests are promising. Thanks for the great advice everybody, I'll report back next time I work that show, so in a week or two.
  19. Hey Ariel, thanks! Standard version is ready to ship, can be on its way today. Version with your name can ship Monday. Let me know and I'll get it ready =)
  20. Glad our ideas could help you! I myself always enjoy and appreciate the awesome feedback of other ops here, this is what I really like about the forum. Have a great day shooting Mikko :)
  21. Cool Video Osvaldo! A clamp right next to he gimbal makes sure that the cable has the least pull on the rig, as its pulling as close to the CG as possible, whatever direction it pulls. Larry uses a bracket made from the stuff they make stop-motion puppets from, like this (just found it in a quick google search to better explain): http://www.pedri-animation.com/www/images/puppets/08-we-insert-a-skeleton-inside-every-puppet-gr.jpg But you could use any clamp above the gimbal with a short arm sticking out next to it much to the same effect. I use something like the Manfrotto nano clamp, but a plastic version which is more lightweight. Always glad to help Mikko, you have a great day, too and good luck with this, I'm sure you'll be fine =)
  22. Hey Frank, I have an alomst new (3months used) Pilot AA coming in, got it just to develop a custom wrap grip and hand it off to a new user soon after. (Wish I'd have thought of those when I still had my first Pilot) Custom made wrap grip will be included for free in any case then. Located in Munich, Germany, so no customs or shipping issues. With a pickup, I'm happy to provide some free intro and training of course! If you're interested, let me know :)
