  1. Frank Rush asked me to get an idea of how many people might be coming to the open house @ steadicam Thursday night. The invite is for everyone and directions are located in the Event section of forum. Thanks Tom
  2. Brian, Have fun, I think you made the best choice. -Tom
  3. My 2 cents worth is for the SOA workshop in Oct. We had plenty of rigs, an ATV, a crane w/walk off platform, and the Skyman. You train with Jerry Holway who designs most of the componets for Steadicam and you will most likely have a visit from Garrett Brown. The workshop is secluded and you get the chance to really eat, drink, and sleep steadicam. I have a buddy of my who attended the Maine workshop, he said it was great untill I told him about my workshop in PA. I hope this helps. email me if you need more info. Tom
  4. Just thought I might pass this on to the group. Hope to see everyone there. Tom Janetzke The Tiffen Company, STEADICAM Division, will host its annual CineGEAR preview Open House on Thursday evening, June 22, 2005. The event will be held in our factory location: 6933 San Fernando Road Glendale, California 91201 (P) +1.818.843.4600 We intend to start gathering around 6:30 Thursday evening. This event is open to all Operators, those interested in stabilizer systems and our dealers. No one is excluded. Garrett Brown and Jerry Holway, co-inventors of the Ultra and now the Ultra2, will be here to answer your questions and just hang for the evening. The Ultra2, new G-70 Arm, new Ultra2 Vest, exclusive new Power Cube battery system (makes a 435 sing), new HD UltraBRITE2, new Flyer SE and Archer SE will be featured. Everyone is invited to take advantage of the availability of all the gear in an environment mores conducive to flying a rig than during the exposition. A special guest, Chris Fawcett, STEADICAM Operator from The Netherlands will be with us that evening and will give a short presentation on STEADICAM Posture. A preview of his material may be found at http://www.steadicam.com/images/content/steadipos2.pdf. Chris has given this presentation at several workshops with great reception. The points he makes with good graphic representation will be of interest to all. We expect to start his program sometime after 7:00 PM. The rest of the evening will be devoted to just having fun and being together as operators. We will attempt to reach everyone and post this throughout the community. However, please feel free to forward this invitation on to anyone you feel may be interested. We look forward to seeing you on the 22nd. Frank Rush
  5. Your next best bet would be an Archer. Then you get the G-50 arm. WOW what a great arm and rig. It is a step up in funds though. Have you contacted Peter Abraham about the Flyer questions? He runs a ton of workshops all over the country. Contact: magiccarpetfilms@hotmail.com Take Care Tom
  6. Hey Mikko, It was a pleasure working with you and hangin out at NAB. Glad to hear you are in love with that Rig. You look good in it buddy. Fly Safe!!! Tom Janetzke
  7. 75% sure of attending. and I'm only an operator 75% of the time. I hope that's all right. -Tom Janetzke "People are like slinkys, not much use for them, but fun to watch fall down stairs."
  8. What a great picture. Thanks Mikko. It was great meeting you and I am sure you are going to have a blast with the new rig. I'm trying to figure out how I am going to afford the New Ultra2. Wish me luck. Take Care my friend and I look forward to seeing you again someday. Tom Janetzke -Tomzke
  9. How many operators here have a Steadicam Assistant that they bring along on jobs? How often do you use them? Do they have to be part of a union? Do they have to be a 1st AC? Just wanting to see who's doing what and how. It would also be nice to see what people are charging to have a steadicam assistant. -Tomzke "People are like Slinkies: Not much use for them, but fun to watch fall down stairs." ;)
