  1. Onis i think you say it all with " I simply ignore reading posts that I can Immediately identify as not improving the quality of my life/work. OnDespite what some think, we are not saving lives!" If it doesn't help you , oh well screw it ... ")
  2. I thing this is a good attempt but a newbie is a newbie , You cant go on a field a operate a rig if you never a newbie by that matter, a newbie needs a start. and that start is not being a ops A.C because a A.c doesnt fly . He can learn and observe a op operating which if hes lucky he will get alot of info by just doing that . For newbie that dont have the luxury of being a a.c to a op . Or dont have workshops around them or ops around the option is to go online and enter the newbie level ... Like myself i belive most nrwbies post footage not with the intent of impressing one but for one to pin point a faulty operating and maybe a kind experience op would C the weakness of the footage and explain how to correct it ... Going by such mentality im seeing that this forum will have in the near future. Experience op level 1 Experience op level 2 Experience op level 3 Experience op level 4 Experience op level 5 The reason i say this its because ( most ) ops in here like to be categorized as experienced op.. So whats next ..levels ?
  3. Thanks Victor, and also thank you Alan for the link, will definally get that book .
  4. I was wondering what is exactly the function of the droptime so i can better ajust my rig to all my cameras , witch all have different weigths from dslr.5 lb to ENG 14 Lb . I know that the droptime for my setups are suppost to be from 3 to 4 actually 4 secs seems to work better for me ..just wondering whats the droptime function on a rig is ?
  5. Eric , I do not wish to keeping this back and forth especially if you going to bring your guns out ... Your experience to mines is like day and nite ...if you feel you need to bring your reel out to prove anything you just pr the word you use so and so often ( professional ) is not the same in my dictionary ...a profesional not only got skills on what they do but also finesse and work ethics ...on the field i do not know you so i cant tell in here you looking like a bullgog to a chiaua ... You have great skills as a op but anybody that post what u post ( not just in this tread ) have a problem with new steadicam ops to come . Its sad that a simple posts of asking a professional set of ops came to comparing footage from hollywood to a newbie flying a zephry with a 7d ... Again professional comes in all levels and now ill drop the subject and 5 years from now ill show my guns to a newbie and tell them oh god not again...keep the good work and the trolling in the newbie section ...cause i got pratice to do ;)
  6. Ok this will be my last post in this tread as it seems most of the guys ( misunderstood ) or not the point of uploading the footage ... The point was not not show my skills cause obiviosly there not there yet . Where i live its very hard to find a workshop so its getting professional opinion and how to start in the rigth path gets harder . So i turned to this forum since its go a newbie section. My definition of a newbie is anybody that gets into it ...either a camera op thast transition , a a.c or simple a very first timer ... I only started commenting on eric comment ...NOT because i cant accept my downfalls but because true my reading in here he seems to put anything or anybody down .... My problem with that is since hes got the time to troll true the newbie section he should make it worth while ... ( well thast what defines us as operators and ppl ) ... I DONT have a problem with negative criticism as i matter of fact i want that vs a pat in the back and a fake smile but again if you got the time to post anything make it positive even if its negative .....take your 20 or so years of experience and give it to who wants to learn .... ( again this is want defines us as ppl ) as a op i got along way to go and get the finesse that it requires one to call himself a op ....but i rest assure you that i will not change as a person ...and 20 y from now waist time in somebodys learning curve by trying to show to a forum that im a op with finesse ...and drop a post ...here we go again .... Instead if i have the time i would spot their weakness and tell some tricks of the trade of what im maybe doing wrong ..... I thank the ppl that have spoted those weakness in MY first set of fligths and gave me constructive criticism ....only with that i can better my work along with lots of pratique ... Fly safe
  7. Here we go , I was only trying to ask for a simple opinion this was my first time flying ...its not a reel its not to show to any dp ...and i do not intentent to playbin your league ....( well for now ) is shots out of focus i didnt cared ..i was only caring in the movement ........ I had more respect for you if you told me .... Your framing sucks you got eork on it ...vs a child litte comment like here we go again .... I think your first time flying sucked aswell no ¿? Or did you got born eith a steadicam on your hands ........ I have great deal of redpect for ops as im a camera op ...now steadicam its a new game to me so yes it sucks but ill get it ... Was just trying to c if you talented ops could c my mistakes snd tell me how to improve it ..... Again i postef in a newbie section ...and i think that they are no rules against showing your work as good or as bad .... If ypu dont want to deal with the newbies section dont even bother but i saw some of your posts to other ppl that you act the same way ...even ppl that can afford a steadicam and have a flycam or othetr you drag tgem down .... Consider yourself lucky to be able to afford one and let other fly eith whatever they have ...if they came to this forum wss to ( learn from ecperiencef ops like yourself and not be brougth down ...snd thadt y i say u a bullie i veen fillowing your post.... As for my work .... I suck as a newbie but it will get better ...no worries and maybe 40 from now i cand be a eric and when i c a post like mines...ill say here we go agsin.....
  8. Like i said Eric ...this is a forum ..you better check imabullie.com
  9. Thank you william ...thast all i was trying to get across im just trying to get feed back i can accept criticism with no problem as i feel i need lots of work flying but this is a newbie section ...afterall none of pro talented steadicam ops didnt got born with a steadicam as a twin ...ill definslly check my level for my next set of pratique run ..
  10. With all due respect Eric i've been seeing your comments on when newbies and others post stuff and your feed back its always negative ..im not even talking about skills on operating but you come across as a bullie on every subject... . This is a forum for steadicam users especially if there is a section of newbies ...and one post on it ...last thing i checked this is called steadicam forum and not eric forum .... Again with all due respect but this is a forum and i belive thast whatva forum its for exchange of info on a matter ...ill post a liter version sovits not a massive 500mb file ...and i thank to the ppl in advange that would take the time to check it out ....
  11. Hey Guys , if you got a minute to review my footage ..this is my first footage ever flying a rig and need some feed back from experienced ops .. http://db.tt/YdMzSkDm
  12. Yes thast the hirose im trying to figure it out ..in the manual they tell you the pin number and its correspendent however the info im after its what cable corresponds to what pin ..they are 6 cables Yellow , black, brown, 2x whites , 2x reds ..just trying to make my own breakout cable
  13. Hey Guys, Just wondering if any anybody knows the color code diagram wiring for the hr10-7r-6s hirose cable ?
  14. I had to re-watch the efp training video to check what i maybe doing wrong ...and i found my mistake ... I was holding the center post wrong i was trying to operate it rigth in the middle and not at the very top where the finger wraps around the bottom of the gimball giving way more control to the unit vs holding it in the middle ... This must be a common mistake that newbies without a workshop do ... Really enjoying learning this craft..;)
  15. Thanks Jerry ... Just finished one more day of training and its getting better..will definally experience with different drop times ...i notice what i tend NOT to anticipate the move and will work on the next set of fligths ... Practice makes perfect especially flying ..")
