  1. Ben, You should expect the same performance in regards to latency with the Sidekick as you do with the 300 RX. Not increased (or decreased) latency, all Bolt systems are <1ms. Cheers, Andrew
  2. ...the big one, Valet parking!!! Teradek will be hosting a special event that takes an in-depth look at our latest product, COLR. Saturday, March 5th 2pm-6pm at our newest location, Creative Solutions Los Angeles (CSLA) 5329 West San Fernando Road Los Angeles, CA 90039 Please RSVP here: shopcreativesolutions.com/RSVP Hope to see you there!
  3. We've been using these kind of batteries daily for our in-house testing and at our trade shows. So far they have been pretty solid and 3-4 of these can confidently carry us through a long tradeshow (702+sidekick combo). Also sometimes we power our C300/Sony cam's simultaneously with our devices attached too. We do sell these batteries on our site with an included barrel-2pin lemo cable. http://teradek.com/products/battery-with-barrel-adapter-to-2-pin-lemo?variant=1184516001
  4. Wanted to chime in with some Mini intel from the Teradek forefront. We've had a few of our new COLR units out in the field and on set. Immediately designed as a wireless LUT box which was envisioned to be living on a DIT cart or monitor. Turns out there's an application for it ON camera. We'll have some more documentation in the near future as it seems to be a popular workflow, but just want you all to be aware! In addition to its ability to apply and store LUTs, operators have been playing with the Gig-E port. With this, they're connecting directly to the Mini and taking advantage of the latest SUP 3.0 firmware and camera control functions. Here's a silly little hype video we were able to briefly capture during our last visit to Abel. https://vimeo.com/147792588 But as I mentioned, more info to come, if you have any specific questions or clarifications, please don't hesitate to shout!
  5. You are correct that the LUTs are loaded into the Rx's. Teradek is definitely interested in being a more integral part of the LUT workflow. I'm not sure how much this interests you, but we recently announced (to put it short) a LUT-box with wireless control which we've titled COLR (pronounced... color..... hah). You can find all the details here. http://teradek.com/pages/colr With COLR, your LUT/CDL's are controlled wirelessly via Pomfort LiveGrade over a WiFi connection that COLR generates (or can join). Natively integrated and adjustments are immediate. There's an SDI and HDMI input which can come from a video source whether it be directly from a camera or on the receiving end of a Bolt. Then shoots out the graded image over SDI and HDMI. An immediate use is for a DIT distributing to village and a variety of monitors that often times don't have integrated LUTs. Has a similar built-in up/down/cross convertor like we find in the Bolts so monitor compatibility is strong. The COLR boxes can be planted at the monitor with a Bolt Rx, ideally removing another cable with the whole on-set workflow from cart to village. Of course, by creating these LUTs and presets, they can be easily loaded onto the Bolt Rx's as well. Curiously enough, COLR is also being implemented as an on-camera device as well. It's no larger than a deck of cards. It also has a Gigabit ethernet port which can able used as a gateway for camera control. The most immediate application is with a RED and using the FoolControl app. But we're seeing more and more cameras being released with this as a protocol for camera control. I believe the Alexa Mini has one as well. Anyway, just a look into what Teradek is doing in the LUT world. And it's all a part of the "connected set" initiative as we aim to synchronize the on-set workflow. And yes, Bolt included!
  6. Domenico, I'm sure there's a lot to take in at the moment, but I definitely want to encourage you to reach out to the manufacturers you're planning to invest in. I know there are a few members here in this forum that work for many of the manufacturers that you mention. Please utilize me as a contact for Teradek and I can be a gateway for any Paralinx or SmallHD questions for now. I think one of the best parts of this Steadicam Forum is that we're surrounded by a wealth of knowledge and expertise, particularly from operators who use these tools everyday. In my opinion, it's extremely powerful and necessary to continuing the craft! So when you are ready, please do not hesitate to reach out. And again, I do encourage you to reach out to the other manufacturers you plan to have in your kit as it will give you the best opportunity for support and making the right investments. Andrew

  11. Hello Steadicam Forum, Over the past few years, Teradek has found an appreciation for the community and individuals here in the SteadicamForum. Whether it be excellent technical discussions regarding our technology or feedback to create new products like the Bolt Sidekick! The value of direct client and user interaction has become one of our top priorities and we look forward to creating more opportunities to continue this type of synergy. That being said, we're excited to announce the Grand Opening of the new Creative Solutions Los Angeles (CSLA) showroom. The event will be on October 16th, 2015 5pm-10pm at 5329 West San Fernando Road Los Angeles, CA. 12. Thanks all! Great question. Other than not having the option for multiple outputs (SDI,HDMI & USB 3.0), there will not be frame rate/resolution conversion and most likely no test patterns. Keep in mind, like the 300 receiver, you will still have an OSD using the toggle switch to allow for in-field pairing.
  13. The day has come! As promised, Steadicam Forum members will have the first opportunity to pre-order the new Bolt Sidekick - a lightweight universal companion receiver for all current generation Bolt 300/600/2000 systems. And, as an extra token of our appreciation, we’ve worked together with the SmallHD team to get you guys a sweet deal on a monitor to go-along. With a pre-order of any Bolt Sidekick (SDI or HDMI) and verification of a previously-owned Bolt transmitter, members will receive 20% off SmallHD’s AC7 OLED SDI monitor. No quantity limit. Discount also applies to the AC7’s Anton Bauer plate and monitor hood. You will receive a coupon code once your order is placed for your Bolt Sidekick. Please use the following link to pre-order your Bolt Sidekick: http://teradek.com/collections/special-pre-release-sidekick Also, note that AB/V Dual Battery adapters ARE available and you can find them under the Accessories/Power Options tab. Just select the Type as Sidekick Rx. Bolt Sidekick units will start shipping mid-October. As a courtesy, I would like to let you know that our next set of pre-orders will go to our entire client base of current gen. Bolt owners. While that might include many of you on this thread, you can go to the top of the fulfillment list by ordering before the next wave. The next pre-order wave will most likely occur October 6th while public availability will be around October 13th. Please feel free to follow-up with any questions here or directly. Thanks, Andrew
