  1. My DP7 Pro HB just started doing that after it was sent in to be repaired Guess I'm sending it back
  2. Its the shims in the gimbal, at least I think thats what it was, it has happened to all of us who owned the efp gimbal. Tiffen went through mine and sorted it out . . . Hit up Dan Ikeda or Robert Orf and they can give you directions to fixing it up
  3. While in LA , swing by the Tiffen Steadicam factory and meet with Dan Ikeda , he'll hook you up to fly anything you want Try the M-1 rig you'll love it !
  4. Look up Self adhesive removable and washable Gun wrap You can adjust the diameter to your preference Similar to this stuff http://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/High-Guality-5m-5cm-Cohesive-Woodland_60092508987.html I get mine through the NRA store in all black JM2C
  5. I recently had a show where they wanted to use the camera on the steadicam for lock offs during the act and Steadi moves at the beginning and end of the acts. So getting the rig into an off the stand quickly and dialing in the shot was important. I machined a offset plate that mounted a spud to an existing tri pod allowing you to mount your dock to a fluid head. I was able to dock the rig , zoom and pan for on air moves and still undock quick enough to bump out of a live shot. Jm2c
  6. Jelle, This is the work around from Robert ----------- Hi Rob.. Yes.. Jelle is correct in that the DC-DC converter will be powered up as soon as he connects his 24V battery, and yes the DC-DC converter would most likely start to charge the 12V battery if so connected. Best work around would be to pull out the circuit breaker for the 12V on the battery mount. Jumper the 12V battery on the rear battery mount to the sled via a D-TAP cable off of the battery and into the common LEMO connector (common ground) that he will use to plug the 24V battery into the sled. Doing so he will now get the 24V from the battery down below and 12V from the battery on the rear. I would also pull the 24V circuit breaker to play it safe. Best regards Robert Orf Tiffen 818-567-7915
  7. This is a perfect question for Robert Orf W-(818) 567-7915 C-(805) 404-3290 rorf@tiffen.com USA
  8. Yup , I need Funny I currently carry mine in an old plastic gun case
  9. Al Silvereich 818-841-5775 He saved my bacon when I was on deadline for my extension a few years back and in between accountants, I gave him my stuff last minute and he got it all done for me. Understands the steadicam business well
  10. Ha, we can sell this stuff ?. . . . .LOL . . . .I was going to paint mine all white and make artwork out of it. Hmmmm, whoever buys yours, hit me up I'll sell you a second one =)
  11. Max , what is the part, maybe I can help?
  12. Save your money, stay away from the knock offs . . . . they look good on paper but theres issues you can't imagine that pop up. if 3K is your budget, wait and save twice as long and keep building your client base and practice with others who have rigs. Then imagine what kind of camera's you'll be flying in 10 years and invest in a used rig that will fly those. Maybe in the 10-12 K range I still own and fly the second rig I ever owned . . . . It has treated me well over the years and it was a second hand rig that I modified and repaired myself. Keep on keeping on ! Fly safe! JM2C
  13. Kevin, Lots if us are dealing with the same thing, not draining while turned off but the batteries not lasting longer than half a day . I haven't tried rechargeable yet but all the ACs I told about this all said the rechargeables are worse. Lithium seem to be the best bet so far for me
  14. Was at his house drinking the other day, .... Lol .... Got my cables made fixed my prompter and generally scared the crap out of his dog Gotta Love Terry!!
  15. Ryan I texted Dan and told him to hit you back =}
  16. Robert Luna 310-621-4763 can fix the spring in your arm As for updating the rig you can totally make it HD, I converted one a long time ago, but you also have to add power to the bottom of the sled You can add a 1/4x20 thread to the existing monitor bracket and just simply screw on a new HD monitor, run the HD lines down the post and your good to go Terry West 310-621-5063 can do it for you. Good Luck But for the record, you will grow out of it quick, the arm is wicked limiting, as is the adjustments. Your better off selling it and upgrading to a newer used model.
  17. Hi Tommy, Tommie Skinner is looking for a DBII top stage, hit him up. 312-479-4799
  18. Sweet Jesus Mike, Get a life . . . . LOL . . . . stop working so much and get out and play . . . . . Time to go skiing! =D Thanks for the Boland review, I'll be checking it out at NAB
  19. I'll be there on the 13th working in town for the rest of the week, so could possibly grab late night drinks Hope to say hey!
  20. I get called for a Movi or Ronin gig, I say yes, charge the same as steadicam and tell them I have one that goes out with me and the rental will depend on the accessories. Next call is to find the gear and cut a deal so I make partial rental as well as steadicam rate. JM2C and agreed, NAB is going to be 70% drones and Movi's
  21. Yes I' have been to Detroit . . . . Have you sold this rig yet? and since your selling your other pro rig 2 now, what's the price on that AND what is your new dream rig?
