  1. Just my two cents, but the rig FSPro looks like a toy and you should maybe look at getting a Used Flyer or maybe a used SK, you'll have a better life expectancy and growth potential from both of them . . . . Good Luck Fly Safe
  2. Lisagav is no joke...and if you are irritated, it may help (use liberally). rb LOL . . . .once again . . .honestly, laughing out loud . . . I just like the fact that Kareem knows what the West Hollywood joke meant
  3. Us New Englanders don't want to talk about the Superbowl, Thanks alot for bringing it back up Call James Lytel Football Steadicam-818-610-3437
  4. You guys all have great and valid points, but you missed that it's a HVX 200 . . . .My guess is that it's an ENG style multi camera and there most likely won't be return video. If the director is looking or even switching camera's it will be on BNC. So you may be tethered, God willing Not! . . .LOL . . .But 9 times out of ten I am via triax or Fiber sometimes just BNC. The other thing is we don't know what the concert is, what type of music and what type of venue and even more important what the director is expecting. Mr.Tyler do your best, wear all black, and remember , as already stated, weather your in the pit or on stage or just in the audience your a moving camera and the other cameras will see you, so when you are moving on a shot make it good because they will have to use your shot in the edit because your blowing the other cameras shots. Fly Safe an feel the music
  5. LOL . . . . .No literally I'm laughing out loud . . . I so have to Party with you Ron . . . LOL . . .hahahahahaha . . . . . .LOL . . .hahahahahaha . . . . . .LOL . . .hahahahahaha . . . . . .LOL . . .hahahahahaha . . . . . .LOL . . .hahahahahaha . . . . . .LOL . . .hahahahahaha . . . . . .!!!!
  6. This is insulting. As far as I'm concerned there is only one path to becoming a steadicam operator and that is by being a camera OPERATOR first. The art of framing does not come from carrying sand bags or setting flags. It does not come from setting lights or get ready for this: from pulling focus. It comes from looking through a viewfinder. Kris " I am not a piece of grip equipment" Wilson Your NOT a piece of grip equipment ? Damm, no wonder I was so confussed all these years . . . .LOL . . . Love You man . . . Mean it!
  7. We have a full line monitors, all our product has got the CE, FCC, Rohs conformity certificate, attached please review some of our products, just log on www.ruige.com for its Spec. and more details, for help or you like to order them, contact me directly. tks, james lee bjruige@sina.com 86-010-62191867 X 8017 Mr. Lee, As you have read, we are all looking for the ultimate monitor for our steadicams, Your monitors are interesting but I couldn't find pricing. Also are they modifiable? (ie: can contrast ratio and brightness be brought up to a level good enough to pull focus in daylight without a hood on the monitor ?) Thanks for posting.
  8. Yo Jimmy, The fact that you even considered asking says tons about who you are ! As Robert said, ask your operator if you can try the rig on it may give you some more needed understanding of the operator and rig. Best of luck on your shoot Let us know how it goes
  9. Hey David, Call Sharon Ruiz @ 818-406-2582 On air prompting, she may have a solution for you all the best
  10. I have a weight adapter you can use, But I'm in Manhattan Beach . . . Let me know 310-993-0667
  11. Hi Mike and Forum, I have a Flyer w/JVC HDV cam and wonder if its possible to pull focus on the fly with the Boland 8.4 Anyone tried this? My first post so hope I pushed all the right buttons! Great Forum btw! Thanks! Robert ------------- Yes, the few time I used one it is most definitely possable
  12. Yo Ant, Take some of Ericks footage and get him a demo reel . . .LOL . . . Say hey to the Bristol Gang . . . .
  13. On my last show I did exactly what you were talking about, I shot one show with the post all the way extended and a lighter battery set up and then all the way short with a heavier battery and I have to say, being that I am a vertically challenged guy, shorter alotted me more versatility in my moves. I didn't seem to affect for stability of the rig . . . just my two cents
  14. Sorry to jump in on your answer but I felt compelled, I personally think the 8.4 is too big, but since it's the smallest size Boland makes I hear it's a pretty awesome monitor. Mike still hasn't created the advertised 6.5" one yet . . .!? Has anyone else found any other LCDs other than the new Panasonic (BTW is still not daybright) , that does 16x9 NTSC, HD/SDI and is Daybright ? Uugh . . . Rob "Sick of changing out monitors" Vuona
  15. Boooooo . . . Robert Booooo . . . . .LOL . . . I thought you were going to have the models wear the vest this year. we are all adults here, indulge us . . . Oh and I may need you to come down and learn my show to fill in, call me !
  16. Ya Know that round of drinks cost me almost as much as my rig . . .LOL . . . That Starling can put away alot of booze ! If your interested a friend of mine is an Op in Boulder and may have some info for ya Chris Jones, cell:404-354-1205 chris@dakar101.com Fly Safe & ski more than most
  17. Just wanted to see if you've gotten anyfurther with the drifting issue w/canon yet? New Inqiries were made thanks to the reminder from you, and I have asked my tech manager and canon to address the forum post directly for a better explanation as to why the drift is occuring. Stand by for more updates hopefully All the best But BTW, I let it creep in for a more dramatic effect during the shot . . . .LOL . . . .
  18. In your video it looks like you are gripping your gimbal to tight as stated by Eric, Go back to the 2 second drop time and let go of the gimbal and take baby steps and practice that way until you can take steps keeping the horizon straight. Unfortunately for you this is extra touchy being that your rig is so light, so once you perfect it any heavier of a rig is going to be a dream to operate Fly Safe
  19. Nice Stuff Philip, The shear fact that you have a reel done never mind a second reel is great, I have been meaning to do one since 1991 . . . .LOL . . . .one day I'll get around to it. Until then all will have to just turn on the teli Keep up the nice work
  20. Yo Dave, Save yourself the trouble and just buy a new gimbal . . . .Just because of the writers strike, kids, family and general lack of funds has you being frugal with your money , that's no excuse as an American not to go over spend and overextend yourself . . . . .LOL . . . . . Just bustin your balls bro . . . .hope all is well with you and your fam Happy New Year!
  21. Good Lord, a University that offers Steadicam . . . . .f!@#$% awesome Greg . . . . Take that opportunity and use the hell out of it because todays technology is allowing you all kinds of advantages that all of us "older types" only dreamt about Get on the horn with the Universities Dean and tell them you need a Red Camera next . . . .LOL . . . All the best Fly Safe
  22. Hey Guys, I have this Canon XL-1 that originally had served the needs of all those travel videos around the world so many years ago, but now I never use it. It has all the bells and whistles with lots and lots of extras including a custom case, so, my question is sell it or donate it? Anyone . . .Bueller . . . .Bueller? Thanks . . . .let me know if anyone has an offer or idea . . . . Peace Out Rob Vuona 310-993-0667 Robvski@aol.com
  23. Not much interesting at the ARCHOS booth but I was working and didn't have a lot of time to chat. They did notice the AV500 on my sled. He was not interested in a swap. !@#$ On the other hand, I operated Steadicam on a shoot for the Free Speech Coalition at the Adult Entertainment Expo / AVN's last Thursday and that was VERY interesting! Photo's coming soon! Hey those photo's better have someone other than you wearing that vest . . .LOL . . . and they better not be wearing anything other than that vest , . . . . .LOL . . .
  24. ----------------- If your budget is close to nill, than save and find a used Flyer or a used SK and work from there, apparently, according to some of the threads we have read here on the forum, some people who own the Glidecam 2000 and 4000 aren't that happy with the performance but everyone I have talked to who has shot with the SK or the Flyer love them, so you be the judge . . . Call Peter Abraham regarding used Flyers for sale he's the man! All the best
