  1. Brand new Rickshaw for sale. Smooth Ride. Works great. Easy setup, very compact, almost tool free. Heavy duty construction and wheels. Easy to load handles. Use for Steadi in high and low modes, tracking shots, walk and talks, ins and outs, step-offs(may require a minor amount of additional rigging), hand-held gimbal, etc. It's a smooth and comfortable ride with great results. Asking $2500. PM me if interested. If you miss out on this one there are more in the works. Thanks.
  2. I thought I was watching one of those Southwest Airlines "Wanna get away?" spots.
  3. I got an email from them this morning. Yes the first batch is ready for delivery and there is a waiting list for the second run. I'm really excited to see this in person. Has anyone seen any video yet?

  5. Same thing happened to me on a job recently Tommy. I plugged in the Run/Stop into the r/s port on the Amira and saw a little spark. Lights stayed on but like you said, no one home. Apparently there was a recall on the board. I dropped mine off at Preston, they gave me a brand new loaner MDR3, and had it fixed in a couple days. Give them a call.
  6. I've got a business card here for a Dorian Backus, Dealer Sales Small HD. dorian@smallhd.com 919.267.3057
  7. I too play acoustic and am usually calloused. I don't think it has any affect but I'm no veteran. My dad told me that he had to take a break from playing when he was going to school to be a chiropractor. Said he needed every bit of sensitivity. Interesting thread, I'd like to hear what some of the vets have to say. Garret Brown plays guitar I know, never heard him mention anything about it affecting his operating. As far as operating with the fingertips I too can really only think of the pinky fingertip making occasional contact with the post. Only way to find out is to keep playing and get those fingertips all roughed up. Have fun!
  8. Daniel which model did you get? The "C"? Can you hard mount to it like a Steadiseg or are you in the vest?
  9. I bought a 15lb weight plate with a 6.5lb plate together with 4 connector rods to essentially make a weight practice cage. Dovetail attaches directly to the plate and I found out about it right here on the forums. Contact Janice Arthur. I also had mine powder coated since I live at the beach and rust prevails.
  10. I am also interested Jordan. PM me if you make more. Thanks and good luck.
  11. Yeah that's what I was slightly concerned about.
  12. Not sure if this is the right thread for this but speaking of Birdman..... http://soundandpicture.com/2014/11/birdman-interview-steadicam-operator-chris-haarhoff/
  13. I thought this thread was about getting in Dynamic Balance. Excuse my ignorance but isn't side to side balance just a component of Dynamic Balance? As is fore/aft? And drop time(minor adjustments can help achieve DB because it can easier with a little less drop time no?) I, having a telescoping post am probably not always perfectly in line with my post's relationship to monitor/batts and even being not absolutely perfect I can find static balance using my stage side/side and fore/aft adjustments. Once I am in static(with the camera's fore/aft cg in the suggested position on the stage,) the monitor is where I want it, and the drop time is acceptable, don't I just proceed to move two masses(camera and batts) until the sled is rotating flat on the docking pin? Can there be more than one way to skin a cat?
  14. I also bought mine from Janice. I have the 15lb. and 6 1/2lb. plates with the 12 or 14" posts. I have been occasionally flying very light cameras including an A7S recently and those plates really come in handy. I highly recommend them although I am not too familiar with any alternatives.
  15. You should be good as Libor says. You'll be cutting it close so you might want to further your accessories with one of these: http://www.amazon.com/EZ-Drinker-Guzzler-Helmet-Drinking/dp/B006CUJXMI
  16. You had me at beer. You can go up to 10 pounds which I'm sure you already know. From what I see on your pic you shouldn't have a problem. So what's up with that beer? Thirsty folks in here. If you pull the camera you might be able to fly the Miller but most definitely not the 28 pack of Bud. Good luck.
