  1. Thanks for the replies... seems like there might be a bit of a QC issue with these monitors. Well, at least I have another 10 months left on the Steadicam warranty to get a monitor that works consistently :-)
  2. I've had the Zephyr for a little over a month. I've had a Merlin 2 for about a year. I went to the 2 day workshop in October and had a chance to work with the Zephyr there before buying one. I really like it. I have had some monitor issues with the Steadicam version of the Marshall V-LCD70XHB-3G-SDI. Within a couple of weeks, the HD-SDI port stopped working. The analog video still worked. Steadicam sent me a replacement really fast. The new monitor (same model) is kind of strange. The HD-SDI syncs up very well in the beginning, but then after about 20 minutes when the monitor has warmed up, I have to power it off and on again to resync with the camera when I go between menu modes on the camera. Has anyone else had these issues? Other than the monitor, everything else is great! I'll get some pictures of setup soon.
  3. John & VIctor, thanks for your input. Will check into Jan's weight plates. Seems like folks are very satisfied with that solution.
  4. Hi, I've been working with the Pilot and the Merlin for a little while, and completed the 2 day workshop where I had the opportunity to work with the bigger rigs (and bigger cameras!) I have access to a Zephyr, and would like to get some experience on that rig too, but have smaller camera equipment. Are there any recommendations for weight plates? I figure that I'll need the option to add another 6 to 10 lbs, and the Merlin weights (while good for fine tuning) aren't going to cut it for that much extra weight. Thanks, Shawn
