  1. buy an iphone and put it beside your monitor and download the app "shot assistant" for 10 dollars USD. but to be honest i don't really use level these days. if its not level you can really feel in your hands and see it in the framing.....
  2. it is when u hit your actor with your steadicam and she is injuried. so she sues you asking for 100 million dollars.
  3. front row insurance is what i go with. for about 90k of coverage im paying like $850 CAD a year commercial liability is not included(production usually covers it), if u wanna buy it alone its like 500 bucks extra per year for 1m or something i forgot...
  4. so was mine. jiggling not under load... .. tho my arm has a sharp click sound sometimes on subtle movements.... still trying to figure out where it came from...
  5. Storm Im 2500 sorry dont know how to rotate it .......
  6. yeah im based in vancouver and i made to that atlanta workshop back in 2013 its just your determination and how much effort/money/time u wanna put into this career. cheers
  7. unfortunately Amimon is the company to blame. every 3 -4 years they come up with a new chip bolt 300 600 2000 is based on their 2012 chip bolt 1000/3000 is based on their 2016 chip. and takes em 6-10 month to develop housing / software etc, by the time it gets its name spreaded out in the industry the new one will be on its way less than a year or two sad fact.
  8. i have two dual chargers and 8 HCs. about 100 cycles on each so far no issues. and yes Alexa do eat em like candy. usually between setups (or longer wait between takes ) i let assistants put a battery on the camera then unplug the cable from sled and use the block battery to keep the camera on this means my HC only drains when rolling. so in general that shortens the time of consuming my HC A LOT.
  9. Anyone got one laying around ? PM plz
  10. i dont really know how to shoot following. as mounting in front of the cart is a big no no. Ive done 2 inch pipes and baby stick and hi hat mounts. go with hi hat if grips can't rig pipes offset the mount to left or right based on your operating side, if u go right at center you will find it hard to operate and see the monitor. go with neutral balance. and yes dynamic balance is a BIG MUST. other than that have fun lol. i find its easier to operate on hard mount. tho few minutes later your non operating hand will suffer loads of pain cuz u keep dragging the rig in position so it doesnt fly away. lol
  11. was on a beach with loads of grass and wood pieces, director wants me to don juan film running couple for 250 yards. capturing all dialogues. (i was assuming he was looking for at least 3 takes) was on a 50mm. i said no. cuz i wasnt physically ready. and there is no clear path. even jumping over logs and dodging grass bush on the go. thats why i said no and its a TV movie we have coverages anyhow.
  12. ive been flying 4 blues exclusively for the last 2 years of my career. almost all cranked up will be Alexa + battery on the back + MDR + arri clip on + teradek transmitter + ultra primes id bet you could throw something heavier than Ultra primes will still be ok. and if u are flying Mater primes then just take the battery off... thats like it. with the newest alexa mini i doubt u will ever need any Blacks at all. but thats just an assumption. and ive flown minimum at 4 blues for a fully build C500 with CP2 lens. btw i have transvideo HD6 as well as dionic HCs and gen 4 base if u are curious. having all that said, i always put 4 blacks in my case.. havent got a chance to pull em out yet
  13. i really want some confirmation too. looks like starlite is the only device that supports Arri cameras. am i so bloody wrong or not ?
  14. looking for mdr 2/3 brackets. either one is fine. or both together. shoot me inbox or steadipanda@gmail.com with pics and price thanks !
  15. so it prevents ur hand from controlling the post which means it embraces both short comings of electronic 1000 axis gimbals and the amazing steadicam (without the arm). so LOL.
  16. I am thinking maybe the vest isn't fitting right ? does the plastic part digs way into your tensor fascia area ? try adjust your socket block higher / lower and see if the pain shifts to a different area or not. the pain might be a build up. try readjusting or just simply try another vest like a pro vest / klassen / exo and see. but each vest spreads load differently on your body. so try em out
  17. omg omg its soooo good !!!! sled picture? drop time ?

  19. go buy the rubberband thing that goes on your knee. it spreads the load off your knee to the muscles around it. people who has knee surgery uses that to recover and relearn walking. maybe that may help you a little. dont put it on regularly, just for the job and have your knee fixed before taking on another job hope it helps
