  1. I just got the news yesterday. Matt was a great guy. He was defienatly a unique individual. He always had a crazy story or a joke to tell. Although I hadn't spoken with him in a couple of years I was scrolling thru my phone address book and there was his number. It instantly brought back some fun memories. I am saddend by the news. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

  2. :) I've been off the forum for awhile since I'm not operating anymore but it sure is fun reading through the posts. It's funny how some things will never change. I wish I could have been at the last get together in LA. I'll try to catch the next one.

For those of you that don't know I've been working in real estate. I just started my third year and I can't believe how time flew. It seems like yesterday I was flying my rig. Some days I really miss it.

I work throughout LA but my concentration is the westside. I didn't ever picture myself in an office and yet here I sit. Things have really started to pick up for me and I really like what I'm doing!!

If any of you guys in LA are looking to buy or sell real estate or know of anyone you could refer to me, please give me a ring. Thats all for the self promotion.

I thought of a bunch of you guys the other day. I was looking through some old pictures on my computer and I ran across the one of us after one of the steadicam get togethers all flipping off our buddy Phil. Oh the good times!! I would love to hear how everyone is doing so shoot me an email.

  3. Well guys I sure do miss the old rig. I don't miss the 18 hour music videos or the constant attack of my daily rate. I do miss a good craft service table.

I'm finally getting used to office life and my little cubicle. I must say I got lucky and found something I like as much as I did steadicam. I still keep my own hours and I don't have to rely on anyone for work. My main area of coverage is the Westside although I have done business in the southbay and I have a couple of deals coming up in the valley. I've lived in both of those places so I'm quite familiar with them.

What I was hoping from the ops in LA is that they keep an eye out for me for business. If you or anyone you know is looking for real estate please give me a call. This can be friends, family, your doctor, hair person, you're kids friend's parents, really anyone. I will give them top notch service. I also take care of those that refer me the business.

I'll talk with you guys soon

  4. Hey everyone,

Haven't been here for awhile but I had to add mine.

I was running forward chasing two kids on a music video. I stepped off a brick patio on to what I thought would be grass. Turns out my first step was on a hidden rock that of coarse rolled under my foot at full speed. The rig shot out a bit and that was all she wrote. I was KO'd for about a minute. The rig hit the ground first and did a flip. My first AC picked up the rig and kind of made it more presentable for me when I woke up. Of coarse that's the first thing I asked about when I came to. When they said don't worry about that for now, I knew it couldn't be good. It happened so fast the spotter couldn't do a thing. Total damage to my rig $11,000. Camera $7,000. Me- a bruised head and ego. We had a behind the scenes crew, who of coarse caught the whole thing. If I have time I'll load it up.

  5. I have to agree with Jim. I looked up some parts of that trail and thought there was no way we would make it. Ron is a crazyman!

It was a fun day and we had a good group of people. I'm up for another trip!!

    Thanks Ron

  9. My folks have a summer home on Vancouver Island. It is beatiful there. I would hop on the ferry and check out the Island. If you have the time Whistler Mountain is amazing. Some of the best snowboarding I've ever done. Right now the mountain is open to Mountain bikes at the bottom and sking at the top.

Move Better, Feel Better, Live Better

Do you want to reduce pain, learn how move more efficiently, have more

energy and live more comfortably? What if you could learn to manage stress

before it becomes pain? Just as the nuances make the difference between a

good film and a great film, there are nuances in your movement that make the

difference between pain and comfort, from call time to wrap, and more

importantly in down time. Join Darcia Dexter Negrin for this course [class]

based on the teachings of Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais, who developed a system of

learning using subtle movement with attention and awareness that help you

decrease pain and stress while improving flexibility in your movement.

    Hey Everyone in LA

I Talked to David and Dan About this at Colin's house and I've decided to put together a

Class with Darcia. Her husband was my first AC on the last show I did. She came out to palm desert and worked on myself as well as the DP. What a difference she made. You must take this class to see for yourself.

The date for this class - June 26th ( Saturday) Let me know morning or afternoon and the majorty wins

Location- Either at Anthony's house or the park by my place in culver city

Any other ideas for location are accepted.

Cost - $120.00 for the group for 1 1/2 hrs.

  12. Hey everyone

My Modulus 3000 quit on me and I am borrowing a transmitter from Ari. The way it runs now is off AA batteries. I don't have time to make up a cable. I'm hoping that someone might have an extra Modulus 3000 lying around. I leave next Monday for 3 weeks. Please e-mail me if you can help me out. I would rather use a modulus if possible.
