  1. Hi there, Quick question. I have a job coming up that I'm a little unsure whether I should pass on or not. Has anyone ever flown a Dragon with Kowa Anamorphics (Prominar i think), LMB-15 clipon mattebox with one filter in, single motor LCS, Teradek plus an onboard v-lock battery on a Zephyr before? Unfortunately there is no time to test or measure the kit at the rental house, as its not available before the actual shoot, so I was wondering if anyone has used this setup before, or if you think it would be pushing the Zephyr too far. Sorry if this is the wrong category. Didn't really know where else to put it. Thanks, Tomas
  2. Thank you for your replies guys. I was actually told today that the Amira can be powered through 12V, so if that's correct I wouldn't necessarily need to modify the Zephyr to get it running it seems. However, we decided to go for the Epic instead, as the Amira seemed to really push 10kgs with all accessories attached. Would still love to hear if anyone ever tried rigging the Amira to a Zephyr, though!
  3. Anyone tried this setup? I have an upcoming shoot with an Amira setup with CP2's, C-motion running one motor and video link. With the Amira body being approx. 4.1kgs, the CP2's weighing about 1 kgs each, with batteries and accessories I would probably be pushing 10kgs. I can consider losing the mattebox to lower the weight, but I thought I'd check with you guys if any of you have experience with this setup, or if you think it's simply a bad idea to even try. I can alternatively access an Epic which I know for sure I can fly on the Zephyr, but would be interested in trying to rig up the Amira, if possible of course. Also I'm assuming I would have to run power off the camera battery unless I can power the Amira with 12V from the Zephyr. Any thoughts?
  4. Hello, I'm a 20 year old film student interested in meeting up with a professional London (or nearby) operator for some steadicam talk. I have been wanting to get into the industry as a steadicam op for about a year now, and I have come to learn that it is a several year-long process. I am a complete newbie and I have only been playing with a hand held Glidecam for a year now, something I know is not anything like the real deal, as I did the silver workshop last December. So I have an idea of how hard it is to get the good shots, because I haven't done a single one that I am happy with yet. I am also going to invest in a rig as soon as I can afford it. So, If there are any ops in the London area that would be interested in meeting for a coffee or beer/wasting some time, maybe even let me join them on a gig as an assistant or pure observer, I would appreciate it so much, as it would be an invaluable experience for me. To be honest, I don't really know if this is how things are done on this site, but I thought I'd just throw it out there and see what happens. This website is an amazing resource, and reading the posts that you guys write is more informative and useful than anything I have ever learnt from my tutors at film school. Thanks you for taking the time to read my post. Tom
