  1. John, I looked at the 2000. What do you think of the Glidecam Smooth Shooter? For $1500 it seems like a good entry level system. Right now the type of stuff we are shooting I don't know if spending $7000 on a rig is going to "fly" past managment. We could buy a glidecam crane and the smooth shooter for what we'd spend on the v25. Duffin
  2. V25... Sounds like this is going to be my first choice. Since they are not listed on the GlideCam Site where do you order them in the US? Any reponse to this..? I have to offer a few choices for our dept to consider...
  3. Job, Thanks for the link... Very interesting. As I have been looking around the forum and followed many of the attached links to others web sites, I am impressed with what I see. The more I watch to more I am interested in this disicpline. I am a professional still photographer, who was thrown into the world of video or as I perfer "moving Pictures". My past work still has made on the front page of the NY Times twice and the USA Today to note a few publications. Even though I love being a still photographer I find the same passion for shooting video as I have making still pictures. WOW..!! From what I have learned so far am I to guess that rigs are better if used by only one person rather than a group of people. It seems like there are adjustments designed to suit the operator that you might not want to set up each time you put on the rig. Maybe I am wrong but I would like some feedback anyway. What do you all think about the lower end units? (i.e. hand held) Are they worth the money? Should I even consider them for use in a professional arena? Thank you once again for invaluable information...! Duffin McGee
  4. What is this unit selling for in USD? I did not take the time to create a user name on that site. So I could not view the review.
  5. Thanks for the imput...! Is the v25 a new or updated product from glidecam? I see the V-20 on their web site. Also are there any training semmiars in the southeast (USA) that you'd recommend or where is a good place to find out more information about them?
  6. I have a budget of $5000 to purchase a rig. We shot with JVC DVY5000, Canon XL1 and the new JVC HDV cameras (do not remember that model number right now.) Most of the stuff we shoot is live event, real time but we do productions for our training dept. There are times were we are in an area with Flight Hardware and have a limited range of movement. You all are Pro's in this field. I realize from reading posts of this forum it takes an experienced operator to make these things work well. What do you all suggest is the best buy for my equipment and experience level? Your support is greatly appericated..!
