  1. Dear friends, it's a long time since we were in touch the last time. I hope many of you do remember of me: I'm David Ballerini, the italian guy who wrote the first book on Steadicam ("STEADICAM: A Revolution in the Way Films are Shot") MAny of you gave big contributions to my book, however I could actually meet just few of you when I was writing (Garrett, Larry McC.) Now I'm going to come to the States, 'cause my first feature film as a film director is in competition at N.I.C.E. Festival in New York and S.Francisco (and then in Philadelphia) My movie is entitled "The Silence of the Skylark", and it's inspired by the cruel story of young irish martyr BOBBY SANDS, who died in 1981 after being on a hunger strike for 66 days. And, of course, there is some good Steadicam in my movie! (even if it's a very low budget action movie -but quite one of a kind!) Below, there is the screening schedule: - NEW YORK - Quad Cinema- 34 West 13 Street (5th/6th Av.) 212 726 8627 Nov. 13th 4:00pm Nov. 15th 9:00pm Nov. 17th 6:30pm - SAN FRANCISCO - AMC Kabuki 8 Theatres - 1881 Post Street 415 931 9800 Nov. 18th 9:30pm Nov. 19th 1:30pm - PHILADELPHIA - International House of Phil. - 3701 Chestnut street Dec. 9th 7:00pm I'll be in N.Y. from Nov. 14th till 17th, and in S.Fr. from Nov. 18th till 21st. So far I'm not supposed to be in Philadelphia. I hope to meet all of you, both the friends and whom I couldn't meet yet. Spread the news amidst the Steadicam people. All my best, David Ballerini
