  1. where are you, I have one in UK Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. Selling steadicam flyer in UK Arm and vest are perfect. Sled has the Zalex handle fitted. The monitor is toast hence the low price. Might be ripe for upgrade to HD. £1400 + shipping
  3. Master Series for sale, currently in UK. Happy to sell all together or single items. Master Sled, upgraded to HD. needs a helicoil through the plate screw thread Master Arm, In really good shape. Master Vest, cracked plastic on shoulders, but functions. 4 AB Batteries and 2 chargers Cinetronic Gen2 Monitor All offers welcome.
  4. $12,000 could get you a used big rig (eg. master series). If you are likely to work on student films/low budget promos that use heavier cameras its worth it. I've discovered that you need to learn to nurse an older big rig though, whereas a Zephyr would need less attention I imagine.
  5. Thanks Jerry, will do. What are these machinists you talk of? The UK is an island of bankers and shop keepers. I cant find a machinist here. The dial was just spinning without tightening the wedge, I guess its thread has gone after 20 years. Paper tape and pliers got me back in action for now.
  6. My '95 Master top stage is not locking. Does anyone have a soluion or a spare for this? Much appreciated, Karl
  7. Cool, I guess its not designed for DSLR lenses but is going to get used with them so its worth mentioning to them a feature you think would be beneficial. The other important thing is to make sure the response is set to fast for the focus motor. The default has added smoothing which is nice for zoom and iris but adds latency you don't want for focus.
  8. 1st ACs that use mine love it and don't have any problems. Its the best £4000 I've spent. If you engage the motor before you power up it will auto calibrate no problem. Also you might have been holding the controller very near the transmitter when you first got it without being able to set the wireless power setting to low. Did the super speeds have stiffness near the infinity stop to cause that callibration issue?
  9. I am so looking forward to this. Time to play, practice and learn in great company on a floating Thirties palace. I'm arriving at LAX a day early on the Saturday to get my body clock sorted. I don't know L.A. apart from a teenage whistle tour of California. Planning to book an airbnb in Santa Monica/Venice Beach for the Saturday night. Can I buy anyone a beer?
  10. I've been using Zoho for invoices but now want to get to grips with my accounting so I'm trying to decide on either Xero or Quickbooks Online. Anyone using Xero?
  11. Eek, this exact product is $40 on Amazon UK.
  12. Update: I've been working with the RT Motion 3.1 a lot lately and am really very happy. It does everything I need. I have also used the thumbwheel as a handy run stop on the gimbal handle while practicing. RTMotion have apointed extra staff to cope with the demand and their support is now spot on.
  13. Hi, I'm hoping someone has upgraded their flyer monitor and no longer wants their original monitor.
  14. Hi Louis, RT motion FIZ receiver including antenna cap is 4" x 1.2" x 0.9" and weighs 4.2 oz
  15. Thanks for correction Jim. I'm no expert on radio and wireless. It seems to be about a 2-3 foot blind spot, I will check with different power range settings when I get a chance. Perhaps its a symptom of the one mile line of sight strength signal. Have you had a chance to play with the new mk3.1 Jim? It does offer a few different approaches that make it a fair rival to the BFD in my humble opinion. Strangely with a single motor it rents for upto 2.2x the rate of the BFD in London right now (£150 vs £70.) I guess it's all the Movi and drone guys wanting the lightest possible transmitter. I do love the no brainer auto calibration and the protected antennas, but imagine that US based Steadicam ops are still best served by the Holy Trinity of wireless follow focus you mentioned. Peace of mind and awesome customer support seem pretty high priorities!
  16. My wait time was 10 weeks, 2 weeks more than projected due to motor suppliers. Had no need for thumbwheel as yet, wouldn't want to have to pull focus myself, but would maybe use for funky zooms on a music promo!
  17. All good points. Impressed by Atomos then. I can't even claim it is a national difference as both are Australian it seems. Guess it is best to get a Ninja Star instead of Hyperdeck Shuttle.
  18. Seriously though, it wasn't that long ago when a HD Recording deck would cost $80,000. These things cost as much as a lemo cable. There is just no sense in paying an engineer to repair things that cost this little. Blackmagic products are student or hobbyist priced products that give amazing results for the price.
  19. It is silent except full speed rack focus, when it is still very quiet. I cant believe how quiet it is for the price.
  20. I'm now the happy owner of a very experienced master vest, and looking forward to our work together.
