  1. It's not a music video but a live performance. Dave Eastwood shot Marc Anthony at Madison Square Gardens a few years ago for a HBO special. He started at the back up by the roof and they flew him down to the stage and he stepped off and shot the whole song by himself. The director had all the other cameras shooting Dave while he did this. I wish that I could see that video. Then at the end of the song they flew him back up and out again. I saw it once and it was pretty awesome considering it was at a live event and he couldn't go back to one if he screwed up. Jon Myers
  2. I'm still trying to sell my Walter Klassen Genisis back mounted vest. I've only used it on about 5 rehersals and that's it. It's like brand new. It's got the curved front door with a hinge on one side and the low profile arm. I'm asking 5800$. I'm 5'10" and about 240lbs. If you have any questions please feel free to give me a call. Thanks. 3. Hello everyone I just wanted to write and say that two of the rumors that Erwin was talking about was true (someone not being able to hold the horizon and a non-working AR). I had to replace an AR owner on a feature about two weeks ago. I'm not sure what all of the circumstances were, all I know is that I had to come in. I'm not sure how often Howard speaks with all of his AR owners but he might not have heard about this yet. The AC's on the show said that he never got his AR to work at all. So to all of you newbies out there don't think that just by buying an AR you're going to be able to do the next "Goodfellas" shot. Make sure that you can operate without it before you buy it (as a matter of fact make sure that you can operate a camera before you buy your Steadicam, just because you can walk around with it and hold a good horizon doesn't mean that you're ready to do a paying job). EVERYTHING and I do mean EVERYTHING breaks at some point in time and usually Mr. Murphy sticks his head out there right when you really need whatever it is that you're using be it a car or anything else. I know that the AR is still being worked on and improved whenever Howard can come up with a solution to the different problems that arise during use that cannot be foreseen in the shop. I won't mention any names but I also know from talking to someone that had bought an AR early on that he wanted to return it and couldn't. I hope that this post won't start another war out there, I just wanted to get some correct info out there. Jon Myers
  4. The vest is still for sale. Jon Myers 818-207-9900 Joncamop@aol.com
  5. If I know that I need to go up stairs quickly or do a fair amount of running I do one of two things. I either mount the camera backwards on the dovetail plate and reverse the image in the monitor (so that I can see the monitor and where I'm going like normal) or I just swing the monitor around (I use an LCD) over the batts (I use an XCS Ultimate). You can also buy one of Howards monitor brackets that you can mount 2 monitors on. Hope that this helps next time. Jon
  6. Are you still interested in buying a Modulus. If so please email dcprods@cs.com put Modulus 3000 in subject line. This is for a friend of mine that's an AC. Thanks. Jon Myers
  7. Give Tiffen a call. They should have the conversion in stock (they did when I needed it). I think that it cost about 250$ or so and that included the Gold Mount and the adapter plate and it took me about 5 minutes to install. I hope that this helps. Jon Myers
  8. The vest is still for sale for anyone interested. Thanks. Jon Myers 818-207-9900 Joncamop@aol.com
  9. Thanks for the responses everyone. I went to REI and bought some gloves that seem to work pretty well. It's not even that cold (30's F). I'm going to get the baby bottle warmer (great idea). Well thanks again and stay warm. Jon
  10. I don't know how you guys up in Canada or any other cold parts of this world do it. I'm in Albuquerque ,NM right now working on a movie and it's freezing at night. What kind of gloves do you have that you can still feel your gimbal and keep your hands warm? What about batteries? I'm going through batts pretty quick. I've been throwing those little hand warmers in with my batts to try to keep them a little warmer but once I put them on the sled they cool down pretty quick. Thanks in advance for any info. Jon Myers

  12. Well you don't have to write off 100% of it either. If you only use it 30% for work write off 30%. That's completely legal. You can buy anything, and as long as you use it for work then you can write off the percentage that you use it for work.
  13. I've been using the Cinemonitor 2 now a 3 for about 5 years. It works great and it can do anamorphic internally. Now with Transvideos Super Brite option it's even better. I know it's not cheap but you'll never have to worry about a video format not working with your monitor except HD. The other cool thing is that you don't need to use a monitor hood with it. I hope that this helps. Jon
  14. I'll shoot whatever you send me. If I have too I'll go out to the desert where you can shoot whatever you want too. This could get kinda interesting. If you want too send me anything email me and let me know that you're sending something. Jon
  15. Geoff is right it's an old EFP monitor. It doesn't do 16:9 unfortunately. It's actually an Ikegami stuio camera view finder, CP just put a green piece of glass in front of it. I'm not an engineer but if you need help with it let me know. If I was you as soon as financially possible I'd replace it. Jon Myers
  16. I know that I posted before on this topic but I wasn't sure if everyone understood that I would pay for them. If you have any lying around give me a call. Thanks, Jon Myers 818-2079900
  17. I'm looking for old Anton Bauer Proformers or Hytron 50's. If anybody has some of these give me a call 818-207-9900. Thanks, Jon Myers
  18. Well I just received my brand new Silver Spring arm last night (serial # 005). I'd have to say that it's quite nice. The first thing that you'll notice is different arm covers, they are nicely done in black and blue like the picture on thier website. The next thing that I noticed is that there is a bearing for the arm post. It's smoother than a 3a arm and gets you much closer to the PRO arm. I'd say that it bridges the gap there. If anyone has any specific questions write me here or offline. If anyone is interested in seeing it in the LA area give me a call.
