  1. Yup, going to Janice's workshop. Thanks for the pointers. I'll post results next week. Ben
  2. So after reading all of the comments on this forum I'm taking my steadicam workshop tomorrow. It's going to be a 2-day private workshop w/ a local steadicam operator (in Chicago). Does anyone have any last minute pointers that would benefit a total newbie before my class??? Thanks in advance. Ben
  3. I've been in contact w/ Janice and she's going to run a private workshop for me and one other guy in a few weeks. I gotta say I'm really jazzed about it. Thanks for the help. Ben
  4. Thanks for the responses. I checked out Janice Arthur's website and sent her an e-mail. One more question though... Her site only mentioned "Steadicam," and the rig I have is a "Glidecam." Would there be any benefit to taking a specific Glidecam workshop (I've seen a couple of these) or would taling a steadicam workshop teach the same things/have the same benefits???
  5. Hello, and thanks in advance, I'm a newbie to this. My company recently bough a Glidecam 4000 Pro with the Smooth Shooter vest. I've been practicing with it all week, and discovered this forum today. I looked through the form quite a bit, and everything points towards taking a workshop to learn how to correctly operate this new rig. My company is located in Chicago, and I was wondering if there are any workshops in the midwest, or if I will have to travel to one of the coasts to take a workshop. It's not that I have any problems travelling, but my company will be footing the bill... Also, I was wondering if there are any books on Steadicam operation, or is this forum the only resource I'll have for learning (outside of a workshop)? Again, thanks in advance for all who take the time to answer. Ben Houg
