  2. the Master sled has been sold, thanks for your interest guys.
  3. and more.. :) was rearranged to the side of the topstage by betz-tools, to have room in the front for the HD- BNC. the complete "package"
  4. ok folks, here are the promised pictures. I got a Pelicase for the sled, which is not for sale. The Master was lying in it all the time, if it wasn`t used. :) You also get a 12V 2 pin fischer to 4 pin XLR power cable on top. So the list reads like this: - Steadicam Master HD Sled (Serial number: 197315) - 12V Fischer power cable (4pin XLR) - short plate - docking bracket - master post to regular adaptor Like I mentioned in my other post, I used the sled with the CineHD 6" monitor mounted on a churchill monitorbracket. The hirose cable does power the monitor and also supplies it with a regular composite signal. The HD BNC is at the lower sled which connects via a BNC lightweight cable to the monitors BNC- HD video in. If you need any pictures of the monitor when it was sitting on the sled, let me know. please make an offer, this is an excellent sled for beginners as well as a backup sled, since it is capable of HD! fly safe, Peter
  5. Hi guys, selling my beloved Master sled, which was upgraded to a HD sled by Betz-Tools in Munich, Germany. Probably the only Master worldwide that is capable of having an HD monitor. I used it with a CineHD 6" Transvideo and it works great! This is a great chance for starters as well as advanced operators. The sled is 12V, comes with a short plate. It has a carbon post and comes with the Master docking bracket and a post adaptor. The monitor cable is made for the Transvideo CineHD 6", so it has an 8 pin hirose plug which transfers analogue video and power. The BNC jack at the lower base is meant for HD signals. Short: - Master HD sled 12V Anton Bauer mount - Docking bracket - adaptor (Master post to regular) - short plate I will post some more detailed photos within the next days. make me an offer. Thanks Peter
  6. Hey guys, I was actually about to work with a Canon 5D tomorrow for RED Bull, but we changed the setup to a SONY HDW 750. Anyways, I had to think about shooting with it as well, so I thought of my Sushi-Server Low-mode cage from Baer-Bel with a weight plate that I had made for the cage to act as a weightcage. But the antler idea is fantastic, to give it more stiffness. The only problem seems to be the one screw on the Canon that is not enough to stabilize the camera for torsion of the remote focus motor. But I was told there is also a solution for it. They`ve made a certain frame to make the camera rigid. Do you guys think there is a future for this kind of recording? I personally dont think so. Peter
  7. Hey guys, excellent stories... all I can contribute is that my DOP was running backwards at a gas station with me for about 300 feet and one of the gas pump terminals was torn down, cuz they were rebuilding it. So he was tripping over the left behind base terminal on the ground, he fell pretty bad an had his nice NIKON or Canon camera falling down on the lens as well. I was lucky to have missed the base terminal by about 1 foot. :) so I guess, take care, wherever you operate. :) Peter
  8. Hey Nick welcome to the community! Betz-Tools in Germany is selling Triax adaptors. Damar&Hagen and Fischer. The Fischer should be around 550.- EU and the Damar&Hagen around 900.- EU. Depends what you need the steadicam for? A great zoom is the Bebob -Zoe Zoom (http://www.bebob.de/). The focus depends on the version, 2 or 1 channel? If you only want to control the focus, there is the DigiFox from Betz-Tools.com again, that should be around 6.500,- EU (dont pin me down on the price though). There is also a Genio or a Bartech, they are both older and have analogue motors, but are cheaper as well. Hope I could help, all the best, Peter
  9. ...very sad to hear about the loss of Jeff, although I never got to meet him, he was and still is an inspiration to all of our kind. RIP Jeff sincerely with deep respect, Peter
  10. Hey guys, thanks for being so caring about me. :) I actually turned out fine and the shot as well. Although I will never be doing that again, it was ridiculously heavy and tough to balance. The viewfinder had to stay on in order to counterbalance the canatrans and so on (dont quite remember) on the other side. But I really do need a dovetail with built-in rods for sure, makes things alot easier, I guess. They didn`t have any clue that they were going to need a steadicam to begin with, so I got a call to come over and make one shot only. I get there and they told me, that they don`t have a Arri 435 available and neither have a vertical mag to go with the ST at least. Anyways, after all I didn`t think it was that hard to do, but certainly a "one timer"!!! Saying NO became my best friend since then. ;) Take care guys, Peter
  11. Hey folks, not sure if I should get a new arm or used, but if anyone has a used G70 or PRO arm, please let me know. Thanks Peter
  12. Even Kevin is choosing a WK. Made my point! ;) Hi Erwin, true that, but as you always say, it`s a preference thing. I like the WK very much and never had problems with running shots or other "so called" disadvantages of the WK. It always turns out to be the right vest for almost every type of situation. Proof me wrong. ;) just kiddin greets from munich, Peter
  13. Hi Jerry, thank you again, I liked the "ride control", very helpful! Especially if you need to hold the steadicam on a toplevel to get tall people eyelined. :) I didnt know that you got a G-40 by now, but I guess I would limit myself too much. I`d go with the G-70. talk to you soon, Peter No comment on the genius non-Steadicam ARRI camera and mag. :)
  14. Hey Jerry, sorry for not responding to your post for about 10 months. :) thanks for you thoughts and help, I really appreciate it! I had a G70 for testing reasons yesterday from Christian Betz (Betz-Tools) and like I remembered from the prototype that we used in the 2005 workshop, it was quite nice! I always had the feeling that my 3A arm really needs the load, it doesnt like to sit there with 35 pounds on top. So, what you were telling me about the 3A arm`s isoelasticity is absolutely what I was experiencing, but wasn`t able to pinpoint. :) I talked to Dave Luckenbach and he wished a 3A arm for running shots, which is great I guess, since it is very stiff with the regular load. Anyways, why were you carrying 90 pounds back in the days? And did it really help to add bungees? My maximum was a ARRI ST 35mm with approx. 57 pounds (camera weight), cuz they didnt have an ARRI 435 at that point, it was absolutely ridiculous. I got some pics as well. :) hope everything is okay with you and maybe we`ll meet in amsterdam or in the US again. Peter
  15. Hey Charles, thanks for your thoughts! I agree on most of what you have written. The stamina on the WK is much better than on frontmounts, due to the physical advantage. I talked to a couple of doctors, they have told me that a frontmount vest is the worst you can do to your back. Of course both of us know that if you are wearing a frontmount the right way, you shouldnt be in trouble. But since you are sometimes not in a perfect operating position, the WK is much more forgiving than a frontmount. At least thats what I think, so far. :) I might change my mind at some point. :) Pinching of the nerve between waist and upper thigh brings numbness to the latter. It happened to me a couple of times and I heard that it causes an irreparable damage to the nerve. This is why I always make sure that the vest sits correctly above the waist. This is my current knowledge of the topic WK. :)
  16. Hey Gus, thanks for your reply, actually the WK is about 1kg heavier than the frontmounts. Which isnt much, considering the great feeling. :) The adjustment to the operator size is a good point, but does it have to to get adjusted to someone else? I got a frontmount and a WK. I gotta say, that I hate the frontmount by now. :) Thanks for your thoughts Gus!! appreciate it Peter
  17. Hey folks, I got myself a Walter Klassen backmounted vest recently. I do have no idea why not everyone should work with this kind of vest, understanding that despite different sizes of the vest, human bodies are very different from each other and may experience problems with it. Please someone give me one advantage of a regular frontmounted vest, besides the fact that the WK might be a little wider when walking through doors. I`m not being sarcastic, I`m just interested in the opinion of all you guys. Thank you, Peter
  18. Hey Kyle, how have you been? Last time I saw you was at the Flamingo Hotel at the Tiffen Party (NAB 2008). I got a 3A arm that has Gold Springs, it carries up to 70 pounds. Maybe you are interested in trading it in. Just a thought though, I like my 3A arm. :) All the best, Peter
  19. Hey Brendan, are you considering to let the long dovetail go without the package? Let me know, thanks, Peter
  20. Okay guys, dropping the monitor including raincover, sunhood to 1,400 € 2 years old, absolute perfect condition!!!! Its like new! Frameliner instead of 500.- €, dropping to 400.- € Pete Email for pictures steadicam@peterschmehl.com
  21. Hey Rick, thanks, but unfortunately the baer-bel doesnt work, the side has a different angle. :( thanks alot though, Peter
  22. Hey guys, I own a Master and do have a short dovetail for it, but since you never know if it brakes or just gets lost, I need another one (preferably long). Thanks folks, Peter
