  1. Arm capacity is 30lbs, deduct the weight of the sled and any non camera accessories (extra batteries, weights etc.) to get your maximum camera weight. 30lbs CAMERA weight is definitely over. Lower spar has 1/4 20 screw holes in the ends for weights.

  2. Hi Marco

Many thanks for your reply, I have not seen your websales e-mail as it was handled by Danny Hallett who has now moved on from Tiffen, this is also why you have not seen a reply. As I mentioned, I would appreciate an email to robin.thwaites@tiffen.com and we can resolve whatever the problem is.

  3. Hi Marco

It is true I am currently in Dubai but only since this week, I have seen any e-mails from you. I am sure that you have my e-mail address from previous communications however if not please feel free to e-mail me at robin.thwaites@tiffen.com.

More than happy to sort out whatever issues you have.

    Best regards

    Robin

  4. Hi Matt

Not sure what you are referring to with the swaying, is it just the movement when it is on the stand? Looks like not waiting for the rig to settle down unless there was a draft moving it :-)

Just a little work on the dynamic to get it perfect and with that camera you could go a little more than 2 seconds.

  5. Hi Shane

Give Joe Wilbur a call at Burbank, I stand to be corrected but I think the part number is 252-7808. If you decide to fit it yourself you will need to change the fittings from the old one onto the new.

  7. Hi Alan

Your Shadow V should have the same 4 pin Lemo as the M-1, wiring can be found in the on-line manual

Please note that this is an active circuit designed to power the Tiffen tally sensor so is a little more complicated than just a through connection, if you are in the US a call to the factory would be a good idea. Also I suggest you change your identity to your full name, this forum is pretty hot on that :-)

  8. Hi Brian

You have a side to side adjustment on the Smoothee to allow for offset weights which will certainly give you a degree of compensation. If you run out of adjustment there is nothing wrong with weighing the lens and adding an equivalent on the opposite side of the phone as long as you remember that you will need to add more bottom weight. Aim for a drop time of about a second (time taken for the rig to return to vertical from the horizontal position).

Good luck and let us know how you get on.

  9. Hi Kelsey

Spoke to the guys at the factory and this was what they said.

This may be because the threads in the lift adjuster or the bearing in the carrier is a little worn. Alternatively the adjuster mechanism may be a bit loose causing the LIFT knob to rotate a bit as the adjuster flexes slightly when booming up or down. We would suggest that the arm come in for check over or service to tighten up the adjuster and/or replace the worn parts.

    Hope that helps.
