  1. Hey Rob! amazing how long we have PM each other over this subject! I'm doing fine but am starting to think that I will retire before I see a HD/SDI Hi Brite monitor! I do know that Merell are looking into this but have no details at the moment. I have also seen a GPS/Navigation monitor for Private Pilots called a Flymap. It's 6inch and is extremely bright (1200nits approx). Unfortunately it's not made to accept video let alone HD/SDI but maybe I should make some enquiries with the company. all the best
  2. This is so frustrating, for over a year now Transvideo, Boland, Marshall have been talking about A Hi Brite HD/SDI LCD "coming soon", but still nothing is ready.
  3. Hi Geoff, Any news on those photo's? Would love to see this cart in color!! Cheers, Bo
  4. Hi there, over a year now and no news to the manufacture of this cart. Can anyone shed any lightplease? bo
  5. Hi Stephen, I also have an AB D 90 that's not performing as it used to. Having asked AB specialists they said that recelling is not an option on lithium batteries.
  6. "Does anyone in here have the pin-out for the two connectors at the base of the Archos 604 that mate to the DVR Station. I have usually been making the cable using the TV Docking Pod. Does the 604 have the inputs at the top like the older ones or have they gone away?" Hi Terry, I don't have the pin outs I'm afraid but the inputs are at the bottom of the unit.
  7. Looks good Imran, where did you go to get it this all machined?
  8. Sorry to bring the thread back on topic but I had an email from Boland last week saying that they have decided to discontinue their 6.5inch 2150 nit lcd. I have been waiting for this product since May and am therefore extremely annoyed to hear this anouncement. If any ops have a review of the Boland 8inch then please post it.
  9. Hi Brett, I'm sure Frank at Tiffen would be able to help you but I can also confirm that CP were able to make an EFP in Oct 1998 with the remaining parts they had in stock.
  10. Yes the steadicam is a great addition to football coverage especially in stadiums where there is no room to put a dolly and track. Steadicams on football have been in regular use in the UK since 1992 and now seems to be the norm on most games. The thin yellow triax cables were made by Mike Scott in the UK and can be used with the HD Thomson/G.V cameras. Will try to post a few photos later. Cheers Bo
  11. Hi Guys, Just got a few minutes spare before my usa v italy game and can enlighten you to some of your queries. 6 crews on the WC, 2 from germany, france and britain. The brits are using their normal sky/itv footy ops i.e. Jim Littlehales,Hugh Richards, Steve Mitchell and myself. roland katz is operating for the germans and will be doing the final with another german op. All crews apart from the german ones have focus pullers (normal UK setup) and cable bashers, our Genios and Aladins are working perfectly. Because of the uncertainty of HD radio cameras being available, a decision was made over a year ago to stay with cabled HD cameras. I don't think its a frequency issue. No transporter systems here either. Coverage consists of teams out, anthems, match coverage and end of game pitch shots. No interviews before or after game, break at half time and take it easy untill play comes down your end. Loving every minute even with a front mounted vest!! Four 35mm cameras have been with us on 2 games so far, they are filming "Goal 3". Cheers Bo
  12. Hi Denny, try sachtler USA, if they still exist! Sachtler Corporation of America 709 Executive Blvd. Valley Cottage, NY 10989 Ph: (516) 867-4900 Fax: (516) 623-6844 Mobile: (631) 300-8216 Good Luck
  13. Hi Guys, I've been the pit lane cameraman on this gig up untill a month ago when I had a run-in with that infamous Prod. Manager! Whats worse is that we used to be best mates! I was asked to operate the steadicam but refused to do it for health & safety reasons and because they were only offering a UK cameramans rate. I wasn't happy about using the company's heavy Ultra (wanted to use my EFP) in hot, humid conditions especially as there was lots of ground to cover, chaotic pit stops and nobody watching your back! There was no proper steadicam assistant. The operator on this job and the one in the photos is Machiel from Holland. He doesn't where a fire suit thank god and uses no zoom or focus. Unfortunately that lovely Sky reporter was working for one race only and not with the the A1 crew. btw Chris, I still have not been paid for the A1 test which was 3 weeks before yours!
