  1. Looking to Demo steadyrig Arm in NYC area. ideally Silver Spring Arm but I open to even other arms in the same price range. Love to buy someone a beer/dinner and get to know more operators in the area.
  2. Looking to buy used 3A vest. I am located in Brooklyn. Thank you.
  3. Hey guys, I like to connect with other steadicam flyer owners in Bushwick, Brooklyn, or Manhattan. Contact me if interested. Fasanella@gmail.com Cell: 561-427-4033
  4. Amazon does not take back any water damage. Book is dropped to $20 OBO After the first two pages the water damage is less than an inch. like seen in one of the photos.
  5. I am sending the book to amazons trade in program. Although if your interested you should still send me a message because they may reject it even though I bought the book from them in the same condition.
  6. I am selling the paperback version of the Steadicam Operator's handbook by Jerry Holway & Laurie Hayball This book has taught me much and reminds me what might have been easy to forget. I purchased the ebook so I can carry it around everywhere. There is a bit of wear on the covers and water damage at the top which reduces near the end of the book. it does not cause any trouble for reading the pages. The pages do not stick together. I am asking $30 +S&H (local pickup) or OBO. Images show water damage. Email at Fasanella@gmail.com
  7. Ha, Yes sorry for the lack of descriptive diagrams. I would just buy one of the carts shown here but I really want to reduce the amount of stuff I carry around. So I really like to only have to carry around the handle part of the carriers. Rather than the handle and the bottom with wheels. Plus keeping my weight below 50LB for two bags can be challenging already. Often I need it for more than the airport. Many times I have to travel quite a while with my gear to the shoot location since it is not assessable by car.
  8. Hey guys, I am looking to build a modification to my travel skateboard so that I can attach a baggage carrier handle to it with Kipp adjustable handles or something else which is tools free. I like this attachment to not require any changes to the skateboard so it is still useable as a skateboard when I need it to get around. I have considered a few designs which require the skateboard to have slots or something which would hinder its abilities as a skateboard. I think it be best to attach vis the sides since the handles will be larger than the board itself. The skateboard has no tail so it could be positioned for a 45% tilt from the ground when making sharp turns. My main client requires me to travel a bit and this be a great way to get my gear and luggage around without requiring an entire baggage carrier and skateboard. This is far beyond any engineering I have ever done. I need help trying to figure out - what kind of Adjustable handles I would need - what kind of clam would grip the sides of the wood skateboard deck - How to get those clamps - anything else I am missing/might not get/. Here are some design drawings and pictures of baggage carriers to help clarify what I am trying to do. thanks for all your help guys!
  9. I bought the new steadistand and am looking to sell my old model which was much lighter and quicker to setup. Although it did not flatten as much as the new c-stand model The entire thing is tools free besides the lowest post joint. I am 6" and don't need tools to lift the top extension for the needed hight of the docking bracket. The lowest post can be extended with an allen wrench or replace with a Le kipp handle. The stand comes with two replacement joints for the smaller size of the two joints. This model is very beat up but works fine. Asking $50 Dollars or best offer.
  10. Looking for a system in SD that I can feed from HD SLR cameras split for my steadicam monitor and transmit to a receiver. Looking to spend 3k or less.
  11. I would love to see this video and your technique if possible. Is it posted elsewhere? Thank you.
  12. Will is awesome. So happy to see he is an an owner now !
  13. I have prices! Or taking best offers! $90 for the EFP to BFD and $130 for the EFP panavision start stop cable.
  14. A few of you know my story and current situation. And even I turned down the $100 a day gig. I even had to a tell a person friend shooting this Sat that I could shoot for $200 one day for 8 hours or less. (he wanted two days) but if a normal rate gig comes along on the same day, even the night before, I can't afford to not to take it. He sent an email saying he will not need me and he got a free steadicam rental. (found out from other friend that its just a glidecam) But he has not returned my phone calls since. Although I did take one $200 gig in early November and was able to stop eating nothing but pasta, eggs, and PB&J. :-) On top of that one of the companies that was screwing me sent me a check for work I did in April! Took some time and pro bono legal action (thank you Billy Green for the reference) They own me for about 7 more months and seemed to forget about the expenses work I did in march. Either way its been enough to look for getting my medical work done :-) Still not in an easy situation, and I might not see the majority of what they still owe me, it seems that the owner of this company so rich, the IRS puts him in a bracket that is cheaper for him to choose a company to bankrupt than it is to pay the taxes. I did some research and he used to have a production company in Vegas that went bankrupt...... with the same president... I really like the idea of self made unions for different levels of operators, Or some sort of level based citification. How can I help? Before I am on eggs and pasta again! :- )
  15. Hey guys, Been going through my stuff, looking for what I can sell. Not even sure what these things would be worth but taking best offers. love to hear from you guys on what they are worth. -Pro / EFP to Bartechpower cable 12V #6760 8.5 inches Pro/Seitz/BFD to Panavision Run/Start cable #6023 27" These cables are measured from the top to bottom of plugs Thanks for your continued support! also selling this in the brooklyn area if anyone is interested. $600 macbook pro 17" Anti Gloss screen, 2.16 ATI video card, 500GB hard drive.
  16. Thank you Brian, I honestly still wish I didn't have to post all that but the anxiety attack I got from reading this thread forced my hand. I could not ignore knowledge that I hurt so many people here on this forum alone, that have helped me so much over the years, despite my situation. I not only felt terrible but had no relief from the heart attack like symptoms until I started receiving supportive personal messages from Chris, Sam and Tom. After considering the options I have decided to try better ways to do this quick and not hurt myself and others in the the longrun. I sold my Marshal Monitor, and LED lights to get food, and a place till the end of the month. But I still have not made any movement in gigs here in NYC. Some of you may be happy to hear I turned down a gig last night that offered $175 total. I need it but just couldn't take it, after getting contact information to a possible future employer with decent rates from Ari Robbins. I have never in my life gotten such generosity from my "competition". I am now hoping other operators in NY or beyond can help me get even one day gig at a decent rate by the end of the month or beyond since I will surly still be paying off my dept. If someone doesn't do it solely to help me get closer to my operation I am hoping the prospect of a keeping one more low baller steadicam op off the streets will be enough. I am even willing to offer a 50% finders fee for decent rates. Although I might not make much, At least then I wont be hurting us all and myself in the long run. So for the best I have been able to do is get the web sever to take down the pages the video was displayed on. I have tried contacting nearly everyone from the company and no one will return my calls. I would spend more time in pursuit of it but I am not sure if its my best use of my time when I can still steadicam. I am thinking after the operation I will have around 2-3 weeks to pursue it since I wont be able to operate my steadicam. If anyone in NYC is willing to meet up. Please don't hesitate to call me 561-427-4033 thank you all
  17. This gives it away as bogus. No certified steadicam operator would live healthy, at least not for more than a few hours at a time. Its true. I used to pride myself on my health. That post was one of my last ditch efforts before I had to consider selling more of my equipment. I just sold my sony Z1U, Red rock adapter, Lens, and zacuto gear just to pay my previous bills that were collecting intrest. Recently the big company I worked for for the last 3 months decided not to pay me. It's 11 thousands dollars I was really counting on. Then thinking I was good with a 1k day rate shooting in Saks 5th ave for a company called dogmatic they disappear off the map. I made a thread about the main company a while ago. If it was not for them I would like myself a lot more right now. http://www.steadicamforum.com/index.php?showtopic=12363&st=0&p=57917entry57917 I am in desperate need of any kind of gigs. Its going to sound like a spam email.. I don't even want to admit most of this publicly but let me try to explain my situation. I was recently diagnosed with skin cancer again and I am hesitating to have the operation until I sell more gear or get a gig. Once I get the operation I wont be able to work again till it heals. Thus the urgency for gigs. I am still paying off the last operation. I am currently living on a couch in manhattan in exchange for maid services, cleaning dishes, vacuum, laundry, but I am only able to stay here till the 15th. So on top of that I am trying to get enough to get a place to live. I have been forcing myself to eat eggs and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Although occasionally the person I am staying with feels sorry for me and has bought me meals. I was planing on working with a company I have worked with here before but they just started working Red camera with attachments which is to heavy for my old flyer. The only work I have been able to pick up in the past 2 weeks was a gig I got monday for $300 dollars of spa certificates. I was hoping to sell them to put towards health insurance but they put my name on them and I am the only one who can use them. I owe my father thousands from previous bills plus a student loan. Now I am used to ruffing it out when I was in college, but watching my 50 year old parents struggle because of me, is something I can't live with. My father also has suspicious moles but refuses to get them checked out until he gets ahead. I only got check out for cancerous moles the first time because my sister was diagnosed and operated on. My father has had for the last 4 years a failing hurricane shutter business. People only buy them when there are recent hurricanes. The last big ones were in 04... I have been able to hold of for decent rates until I got the new lab results and started having anxiety attacks. All in all its been taking a heavy hit on my health. I hate myself for posting such a rate but I am not sure what else to do. I don't want hand outs, I owe some many generous people already. But I do need work quickly. If you have any kind of work in the NY area today or tomorrow, even basic crew postions please contact me. Thank you all. My apologies to everyone.
  18. Hey Guys, I want to warn you of a new company (Drive Digital Media) that has yet to pay me after 4 months. They will be looking for a new Steadicam Operator, Most likely they will contact people off the SOA site to shoot in NJ this weekendJuly 30th- 1st. They will have you shoot footage of the race and racecar driver Scott Tucker. You will most likely be contacted by Jin Kim jkim (at) drivedigitalmedia (DOT) com OR Steve Starr sstarr (at) drivedigitalmedia (dot) com An email may even come from (at) thisisamg.com Is there a blacklist of companies for steadicam Operators? If not is there someone who can make one? I am still trying to get them to pay me and stay within good standings with the company if possible.
  19. hey guys I own a Barteck Remote Focus Device with my steadicam flyer (not LE) I am looking for the best place to find a nice long one. maybe at least 12 inches with the best price? Love to get your opinions. Thanks guys. I already have a 2 pin 12v? cable thats about 2 inches. Not sure why its so short. can anyone explain? I often have to spend much time rearguing the camera just to get this able to work. until I made this one from a combination of a (2 pin 12v to 4 pin XLR male) to (female 4 pin XLR to 2 pin 12v) But this combo cable is heavy/thick and awkward for the flyer
