About Me

Raised and based in Bogotá, Colombia, I have a B.A. as a Professional Technician in Film and TV (2004). In my early years in the media industry, I worked as a filmmaker and camera man in City TV Channel and as a freelance cameraman for the public television channel Señal Colombia, gaining experience making documentaries, news, cultural magazines, music and live shows.

In 2007, I was part of “Expedición Yaguarundi: Colombia Caribe" A big environmental documentary series about endangered species and ecosystems threatened by the hand of man in the entire coast of the country. This project was funded by International Conservation, Word Wildlife Fund  and the Environment Ministry.

In 2008, I went to Buenos Aires, Argentina to go through studies in Documentary Cinema and Cinematography (2AC) at the Sindicato de Cine Argentino SICA. During this trip I worked as a cameraman in "Wanna Be" reality show produced by "Body Channel "(Colombia).

Back in Bogotá in 2009 I joined the Editorial Group "El Tiempo" team as a cameraman and videographer, where I had the opportunity to tell stories of the city and participate in different special journalistic reports such as "Abuse against women" directed by Gineth Bedoya who was awarded in 2012 in the “International Women of Courage award” or "Guerra contra el Microtráfico" winner of the journalism award  "Álvaro Gómez Hurtado" for best chronicle or multimedia report in 2010.

In 2012 I made a part of the "Especiales Pirry" work team in the national TV channel RCN, a political and social reporting documentary cut program that gave me the opportunity to tell stories through the lens of my camera in different parts of Colombia and the world (New York, California, Texas, Costa Rica, Peru, Germany, Morocco).

In 2014, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, I attended the TIFFEN GOLDEN WORKSHOP of the SOA (Steadicam Operators Association) to become a certified Steadicam Operator. A workshop led by Garret Brown, inventor of Steadicam in 1976 and winner of an Academy Award in 1978 for the invention of the same and the revolution in the cinematographic narrative in the world.

Since 2015 I´ve been working as a freelance cameraman and steadicam operator in different productions such as short films, documentaries, web series, commercials and TV series.
