  4. Greg, thx, looks very interesting. What about the extra stress to the arm section, mainly the first. Looks like the lever will introduce more stress for sure? Any thoughts?
  5. please change your name to your real first/last name, thx
  6. i forgot, if you like you can buy the Virtual Horizon 3 (wireless) module to place it anywhere on the sled/camera/crane/gimbal up to 30ft/10m away....
  7. Gents, I'm using the HD6 X-sbl now for about 6 moths daily, could not be happier. The level works as advertised, which i consider a lot. It is gyro-stabilized, meaning, interference due to fast pans and shocks are filtered out, amazingly well, in my opinion. The level has several resolution settings, I'm using 5 degrees, which matches my analog bubble level. there is also a 2 degrees and non-linear resolution available among others. The non-linear is hyper accurate in the center and less on the fringes. 1500 vs 2000, i think it's more a choice about size and weight, not brightness, both monitors are VERY bright and visible, especially if you start using different input profiles and contrast settings. other features: image flip/flop 3 framelines zoom REC flag indicator over HD-sdi build quality, second to none, a professional product throughout.
  8. Has anybody tried this product at the recent Stabilizer Expo? from the XCS website: "Imagine placing the camera higher or lower then you have ever been able to place it before while still using a standard post length. Keeping that 17"-23" post length "sweet spot" where you can throw around a sled and it reacts with the control and speed you are used to without having to go to a greatly extended or super post length. We all understand the effects of extending a sleds center post past a certain post length. The longer post and super post lengths create slow under responsiveness, increased hand and finger fatigue, and increased camera lag time. I wouldn't be the first operator to say at the end of a day while using extreme center post lengths "that will have to do". Well, now we have created a new product design that can eliminate the necessity for center post extension in most of the common high and low mode shots you will do. It allows most operators, in under a minute, to expand their high or low mode capabilities without changing the sleds center post length. It will not change the performance or feel of the mechanical arm, but you will now have the ability to achieve a higher or lower camera angle shot. The Extendable Mid-Arm Swivel now allows you to get the camera higher or lower without having to fully extend your mechanical arm, giving you greater overall range and flexibility. We supply three different interchangeable post lengths for the Mid-Arm Swivel. They are 2.8" (no extension), 9" & 14". This allows roughly a maximum 12.5" overall displacement camera range, higher or lower, while still not changing the center post length, balance or sled performance."
  9. Greg, this is officially the looooongest post, ever. :-) As always appreciated.
  10. Buy local and take an experienced operator with you....
  11. I would like the X-90 to be lighter than the current HC...any specs Paul?
  12. Lubricate the "canister draw bar (piston)" that is held in place by the single stainless steel screw under load, push the arm down, that makes it being exposed. White lithium grease is recommended by Jack. an inside look in the canister:
  13. everybody seems to be forgetting how "big" batteries used to be just a few years ago, pre-Lithium....just saying, Propac, Hytrons,....
  14. awesome, best hour you can spent on learning about steadicam
  15. Love the carbon, meaning it's a waste not to reuse it....
  16. To bad for the carbon housing....nice battery though.
  17. no, it's intended to work with the Artemis Rig to my knowledge
  18. there's a Transvideo StarlightHD mounted to the Gimbal handle, so that at all times you can see the image....
