Preston Hand Unit Mounted Monitor?
Jens Piotrowski SOC replied to A.J. Martin's topic in Video Assist and Video Accessories
Hi Erwin, I just bought the Cinewidgets monitor bracket for my HU III. It works just fine. The only difference is, that the monitor now sits above the handwheel. Best, Jens bracket -
Yet another monitor arm question...
Jens Piotrowski SOC replied to Mike McGowan SOC's topic in Monitors
Hi Mike, I have both the PRO and the XCS ($950) arm. Mainly because I switch from my green screen to my Hummingbird on occasion. The XCS has these nice telescoping rods, that make the viewing angle better for my LCD monitor. PRO just came out with an adapter that moves the monitor about 3 to 4 inches further away from the post. It's about $350. In my opinion the PRO is the stiffer arm and it switches from regular to low mode easier. Good Luck. Jens -

Canatrans Mounting
Jens Piotrowski SOC replied to Jens Piotrowski SOC's topic in Video Assist and Video Accessories
Good question, Doc. First, I did not want to add more weight above the gimbal and second, do we know for sure that there is no interference between the powerful canatrans and the MDR? Best, Jens -
Hello, Since the Canatrans is a little bit bigger and heavier then my previous Mod 3000. I had to come up with a place for it. Here are my two cents. - loose the Canatrans base plate, that exposes the already existing threads - drill holes in PRO recorder mount and make room for the screw heads (I used a Dremel tool) - mount the canatrans on the recorder mount plate - order a 6 inch video/power cable from Lentequip - done!

Hedén M26VE with Preston anybody?
Jens Piotrowski SOC replied to Peter Milanov's topic in Follow Focus
I'm using the DM1/DM2 and the M26VE with my MDR2. It works great. They very lightweight and they use the same base motor (made in Germany) as the DM2. This is my "I'm always ready for an Iris change motor". ;) Jens Heden -

Hi Nick, I just have it as a backup in case the wireless connection is compromised. I think you can also use it to "power" your handset thru the MDR in case you are out of batteries/chargers. I did this with my Handset I , should also work with the HU III. Jens

Hi Julian, How are you? Try Nebtek at www.nebtek.com. I've bought mine there. But IMP is out of business... The Blackbird version incorporates the PRO connector and a Frameline generator. Also, there is a MK-V Hummingbird for sale in the classified section. http://www.steadicamforum.com/forums/index...?showtopic=7305 Jens

Hytron 140 taming 435's (film cameras)
Jens Piotrowski SOC replied to Yuk Hoy Cheong's topic in Batteries/Power
here is what i use... anton bauer QR-HOTSWAP mounts directly to the camera (sled) for true perpetual, continuous battery operation. ... Used with two Dionic 90 batteries, the lightweight QR-Hotswap allows fro 180 watt hours of capacity and seamless, truly perpetual, power. QR-Hotswap can be used with any combination of Anton/Bauer Dionic 90 or HyTron 50 batteries ONLY. I'm using this adapter to power the camera with 3 instead of 2 batteries either 3 hytron 50 or 3 dionic 90. that should handle any 435. -
