Hi all,

Recently I had a job with the Moviecam, but I ran in some troubles with using the steadimags.

I did tests without the bridgeplate and with shouldermags, and everything went fine. But on the shoot self they had only steadimags. When mounting directly on the body (so without bridgeplate), I didn't have enough clearance to put my plate where I wanted too (I tried balancing but was wayyyy too backheavy, light lenses - Summilux - didn't help).

Pic is with the build we used, bridgeplate gave me just enough clearance.

So do you guys use a riser of some kind? Or do you keep the bridgeplate on?

Hi Damian!

In the Volt manual there's some information about balancing the gimbal, I attached it (p57).

It's quite easy to do it by yourself, you do need some spacers I think.

Hi all,

so I recently did this videoclip, and I'm having a wicked amount of vibrations in my topstage (Masters Series), especially in low mode. I've had this before, but never this much. Are there any tips out there, is there something loose, stuff like that? It was a Alexa Mini, with Lomo's, but the DP did have a Beachtek Sound module on it.

Hi everyone,

I'm interested to hear some tips on low mode operating. It seems that I have to work a LOT harder than operating in high mode, almost like I have to fight it all the time, altough it is properly balanced. Are there things I'm overlooking? 

I fly a Masters Series.

I'm a beginning operator and just bought a Master Series (also the arm). The HDSDI was fairly easy to do, the guys at my local camera rental did it. I find it perfect to get started. It's sturdy and heavy enough to fly nice. They also replaced the old battery plate for a V-lock. I just think if you can geg it fairly cheap, it's worth the hassle with the upgrade stuff.

Thank you for your reply, and indeed, my post was fully extended, so that seems the problem most likely.

Hopefully Tiffen wil make a hot swap plate, or extra plate for the Aero, but for now, the bongotie-method seems ok (or I'll make a plate myself).

I have an vibration issue wit my Aero 30, and I don't know what it causes it.

Here's some example footage with a Sony F35, the set up weighed about 9 kilos.

Can someone give some more info, is it because of wind, or my arm, or maybe the dovetail from the F35?

Hi gus,

so when I use my a6300, with a blackmagic mini converter for my aero 30 sled, the monitor crops the image for some reason.

I'm fairly shure it's not a setting in camera, and the monitor is very limited in the amount of settings I can choose.

Can someone help me?

Can you fit the Aero 30 arm on the socket block from the LX Vest (just bought one from the market), or does it need a smaller size socket block?
