  1. It has been over a month since Rathbone Energy sent out the email and six months they have had my batteries. The phone still gets picked up by a machine if at all. Email do not get returned and a letter sent registerd mail was sent back. The only good that has come out of this is all the people that have offerd me battery help. I want to thank Paul Dudeck for his offer unfortunately the new Anton Bauer ProPac 14 do not fit my EFP battery cage. Anywhere on the East Coast to have batteries re-celled? What other battery options do I have with a EFP? Regards, Adam Keith
  2. Any update on the upgrade to the G-50 arm post? Adam Keith
  3. Jon, Do you have a address in Cooke County, TN for Rathbone? I have the Jefferson county address. I want to try to get my 5 Anton Bauer ProPac Batteries back. Adam Keith
  4. I tried to call Rathbone Energy this week, they still are not picking up the phone. They did have my 5 Batteries since Jan. 2 long before they sent me info on the tree hitting the building. I 'll give it another week or two and let you know what happens. Adam Keith
  5. Rathbone Energy sent a email letting me know the building they work out of was hit by a tree a couple of weeks ago. They have also had trouble with the phone system since all phone calls needed to be forward to a cell phone. Not being able to contact them, I was getting a little nervous that they went out of buisness. They have had 5 of my batteries to be re-celled since January 2. I put a hold on a charge to my credit card but after the email and learning of Rathbone's troubles I took off the hold. It was good to get the update and to know they are working on getting into a new building and back to business. Regards, Adam Keith Q Video Services, Inc.

  7. Carsten, Drop Hugo a email or phone call. His info can be found on his website www.steadyrig.com Regards, Adam Keith
  8. Nikki, First I think you will get a warning from the Forum Moderators to use your full name. I think your best bet is to attend the NAB in Las Vegas. There you can get hands on with a number of Sleds, Vests, Arms and Steadicam Accessories. Adam Keith
  9. There is a great article in American Cinematographer December 2007 issue about Atonement and the "Steadicam Shot" It is titled Irretrievable Deeds. You might be able to read it online. The article explains how the shot was rehearsed and shot over 2 days. It goes into detail on how they handled the reflecton from the sand and 1000 extras, ect. The operator according to the article started out on a vehicle, walked the sand, up ramps into a rickshaw. Also why they staged a long Steadicam tracking shot was explained "Our concern became how to choreograph the move and make it evolve in a way that would be interesting for the audience while communicating the chaos and the waste of war. At the same time we wanted to stay with Robbie and maintain the sort of subjectivity and dreamscape atmosphere this section of the story had so far" A great read Regards, Adam Keith
  10. I still have the original manual that came with my EFP along with the VHS tape. I will check with Tiffen to see if they are selling the manual along with the newly re-mastered EFP DVD. If they are I think its best to go thru them and if not send me your mailing address and I will mail you a copy Regards, Adam Keith

  12. I was given a VHS copy of Visions of Light - The Art of Cinematography, from a stage manager I work with. It was worth digging out the VHS machine to watch. Steadicam is touch upon in scenes from Raging Bull and Goodfellas but it is more a story about light "seen through the lenses of the world's greatest filmakers." Call Netflixs and enjoy, Adam Keith
  13. Jerry, Thanks for the added info. I will give it a shot. Just want to add that at ABC-TV NYC Studios we have had some issues with fiber cables. Don't make the loops to tight and also keep them clean, always cap the cables after its disconnected. I added a picture.... thats about the tightest loop I make leaving the camera. Thanks again Jerry Regards, Adam Keith
  14. I run a thin fiber or triax down the center of the camera just in front of the gimbal. I keep the cable in front of me and attach it to the back of my vest. Adam Keith
  15. ( a jib operator, can you believe it?). I believe it..... 30' arm with no extra cables to worry about. Congrats Adam "BFD #36" Keith
  16. I have had the pleasure of operating Steadicam on the same set with Brant Fagan, Jason Cullum and Peter Abraham at diffrent times. It was a joy to watch and learn a little from each and we are all about the same height. But I don't think Peter would fit in my vest Adam Keith
  17. B & H Photo NYC Davis & Sanford Pro Steady Stick - for Professional Camcorders Mfr# SSPROSI2 ? B&H# DAPSS I think Tiffen also sells the Steadistick. Adam Keith
  18. I am having trouble running a AJA Downconverter off my EFP sled. The AJA powers up fine and there is no problem until I add a video line to the AJA off a camera and then the EFP Fuse pops. I have never had any power issues before, running my monitor/modules/Bartech or Camera off the sled. Also have no problem with video to the monitor or modules. I have tried 2 AJA and 2 Power Cables. Same results Any one have any thoughts? Regards Adam Keith
