J-7's are pre-wired for a Canon or Fuji Lens. Not both. There is a "JUMPER CABLE" to make it compatible with the other. The "JUMPER CABLE" changes the pin out. Much like the electronics to a Jib. If your J-7 is not smooth you should check out to see if you have the correct cable. Adam Keith
