Buy buying modular you are buying that "one sled" buying into the Tiffen system and you need toy multiple sleds. That's their business model, it's their goal to sell you three plus rigs as you progress

None of those photos are a "Perfectly flyable" Alexa. to be perfectly flyable you HAVE to have a matte box, you HAVE to be able to carry two filters in it. You HAVE to have a follow focus, then there are things like Transmitters, Cinetapes and whatever else you are asked to fly. What if you are asked to fly a zoom? how about a codex? a ring light? You might be able to squeak by a time or two but you won't get called back if someone else has a more approiate rig and accessories. Rather extolling that you "Can" fly it, learn why you don't WANT to fly it. Never let your equipment limit you.

Brought to you buy the same people that built the Aladdin, the only follow focus I've seen that would blow the 10 amp supply fuse but not its internal 5 amp fuse.... Thanks but no thanks

Will, No matter what I'm doing, series, day play, commercial the SLED is ALWAYS built the same, that way it flys the same and feels the same. Train like you fight, Fight like you train
-
so you change your basic build from day to day? that's silly, so is putting a transmitter there, so is this stupid thread

Ding ding ding
-
Why? you made the monitor wider and add more failure points
-
All the more reason to not upgrade that sled and get something modular. This is a great example of the closed system that Tiffen promotes
-
Honestly you'd be better served getting a better sled. That was a bad sled when it was new

Inovativ Vs Backstage
Eric Fletcher S.O.C. replied to Stefano Ben's topic in Cases/Carts/Stands and Transport
I have the first cart inovativ sold and the first Steadi-Cart. Before that I had a Magliner. I use a "Coffin box" with three drawers on the bottom of my cart, with the magliner EVERY time you pushed the cart it would "Lozenge", squeek and generally feel like shit. This is a cart that is transporting hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of gear. And while this is petty when a producer sees that they wonder why they are paying you so much. Hate to say it. I couldn't be happier with my inovativ cart and honestly I'm buying my cart for two things, to move and protect my gear and to keep my AC happy. This cart does that. Rolls easy, very easy and has real brakes that actually hold the cart in place. Two Disc brakes off a tandem bike vs the dinky little foot lever brake on the magliner, you want to watch a AC panic and run faster than you've ever seen them run? set that brake on a hill.... Squeek, Squeek, Squeek "Holy crap!!!!!" run run run....... it' would be hilarious if it wasn't so tragic. The construction quality on the inovativ is second to none. It's the last car you will ever buy and it will look smart from day one till the day you retire. -

you realize that an Inovativ cart is about 10 times more expensive than a stand? -

The d tap is one of the worst connectors in the history of connectors. It's very easy to force it in the wrong way -
it's not exactly a picture that tells a story, as a thumbnail it looks like a reflection off the screen. To let us know the conditions all yo have to say is "A clear day in direct sun" and guess what? Most everyone here will understand what the test conditions were. and FYI the worst condition for a monitor is a layer of High Cirrus clouds and sun. it gives you a highly reflective white veil on the monitor and that's the best test. Clear and sunny doesn't really tell you that much

You and I have different ideas of what "absolutely usable" is

that's it? that's what you've been waiting for and is supposed to be the newest greatest thing? that's pretty poor. no way is that 1500 nits? maybe 1000 but not 1500 And what's the last photo?
