  1. Afton, FYI "Cinetronic" is STILL my answer. it's a better monitor than anything out there as Jens said it has two (soon to be one) small issue, PsF and I can get around that. The level will be out very soon. The other issues in this thread (Ab plates, really?) are all a per person type of thing
  2. Good luck with the sale, small problem with that unit is that you can no longer get it repaired
  3. Justin, Hate to say it man but I see a failure on your part. have a problem with your primary, you pull out your backup and get your primary fixed, you don't sit on it and bitch that it doesn't work. Preston doesn't cover shipping, so again I'm not sure where the problem is. They will fix it at their cost, you just need to get it there AB Plates? they ALL have slop in them, they were designed to be used vertically mounted on the back of an ENG camera, 3 dots of velcro and you're good to go. we ALL do it. Cinetronic provides a tally connector on their monitor, nowhere do they say that they will provide the tally cable or interface. Transvideo does the same thing so I'm not understanding your issue. I get that you are just starting out and that you are trying to build up your kit, we have ALL been there, you're not special in this regard. Now step up and understand that you have responsibilities in these matters and that's part of doing business.
  4. What is that recipe cause I don't see it. You're number one fan boy, hows your monitor, surely you have it already.
  5. "Lemo similar". That's sales speak for knock off connector and I don't know of any Lemo or Fischer knockoff that actually works well. Yes you might save a few bucks buying the knockoff but is it REALLY worth it when it doesn't work when you are working? Buy it right the first time and save money in the long run
  6. How much do you have to spend? PRO Cinelive is my choice for the best bang for the buck Tiffen stuff can't be upgraded, their upgrade policy is buy a new sled...
  7. LOL Looks like I'm going to be back a few times in the near future. It's awesome that you are so booked up, Next trip we will hang out some more
  8. No the Arri adapter is very good. And will work with all eng lenses
  9. Great to meet you too! Actually Great to meet everyone that was at IBC. Damn I had fun, I don't wanna leave!!!!
  10. Nope, no s16 crop mode. Only the 1080 frame. Also this camera will not do arri's new open gate. The B4 adapter has an optic in it to enlarge the b4 lens image circle. It should not change the 35mm focal length (2/3" lens will have a 2.4x conversion factor ie a 10mm lens will be a 24mm)
  11. NOTHING in that shot requires dynamic balance. The pendulare motion is caused by The rig being too bottom heavy, and your technique needs to be improved. This is also a great example of why doing it all on STEADICAM doesn't work. Just sayin
  12. The b4 mount has an optical converter. Plus there is a sony style lens control hirose in the same position as you would find on a sony broadcast camera
  13. Not right now. The Alexa M is the 3d solution
  14. Weight is ~10lbs for the body (top handle and shoulder base included) The weight may change as the cameras they are showing are prototypes and they are works in progress. Price also isn't set but it will be significantly less than an Alexa
  15. Pretty ignorant comment there chris. this IS an Alexa, think of it as an LT and the Alexa the ST. Other than ArriRAW uncompressed you give up nothing with this camera other than weight and size.
  16. I had dinner with the project manager tonight and made my suggestions/request's. Power plugs are going to change, and the price hasn't been set.
  17. Played with it today, fantastic on the shoulder, the Arri guys are starting to realize that it's not just a camera for docs but it's the LT of the Alexa line. Boot is fast, power consumption is low, uses the standard Alexa plate. Has an innovative viewfinder that is both an OLED and a 3" (ircc) fold out VF/touchscreen The sliding shoulder mount and top handle is pure genius. Oh and the price they are talking about.... VERY affordable
  18. ummm I'm not aware of Chris being a doctor or a Physio, so careful with any claims of Health based designed etc etc. and like others are saying claims of a track record are premature.
  19. Jens it's going to be a while before they start to ship....
  20. LOL, nice try, we WERE trying to be helpful.... Odd same age and same attitude as Shawn Sutherland.....
  21. Dennis, the information you were seeking is on the glidecam site, and you answered it yourself. This site is for professional level rigs. The HD-2000 is not, as such few of us have any practical experience with it and frankly I doubt it's on many radar's here. We have plenty of experience of putting rigs together, we also understand their limitations, that's why the question of the lens choice was made so that we could give you a helpful answer, but hey you know better than a group of people that do this for a living.
  22. THAT's why Dexter has been hanging his head in shame..... Damnit tommy!
