Thanks Jerry. I called terry yesterday. Terry usually makes all my cables. I was wondering if anyone has made a cable for this converter. Someone told that there was a guy at clairmont camera that makes cables. Does anyone know that is?

I hope this is the right place to post this. Does anyone know who can make a power cable for the aja HA5 ? It needs to be 5 volts regulated from that funky black 2 pin connector to a male 4 pin xlr. Any suggestions? thanks, Rick

I don't think it's THE best, just told "one of the higher rates any TV show in LA is paying." Apparently in NY they pay on average $10-15 an hour higher than they do in LA due to cost of living and such. Hey Michael, I just got offered a pilot for HBO with Allen Ball directing( 6 Feet Under,TrueBlood ). They offered a pretty good combp rate for tv $75 /hr , but only wanted to pay $500. per day for the rig. It's only 4 days for the whole shoot broken into 2 different weeks. I have a hard time accepting a job that I want to do, But it's the principal that you should get a normal rental rate as a daily . This is what some producers try to do. If we all accept these "favors" ,this will drive all the rental rates down. As hard as it is to find tv work right now, we have to remain united.I had my agent decline to offer.

I understand that, but when the HU3 came out a few years ago, the 2.4 gig frequnecy was already extremely busy. Preston's answer was " did you read an article called " the wireless jungle " . So I'm trying to understand why the hu-2 works flawlessly, and the hu-3 gets lots of interference . I'm happy to hear people like Eric Fletcher have had no problems, lots of other people have not been as fortunate. I've had problems at Paramount studios on stages 19, 20, 21. I've had problems at Universal. Out on car shoots in the middle of nowhere, and now in an office building in Van Nuys. Maybe I'm just very unfortunate to have 2 bad units.

Personally I feel that Preston should do the upgrade for free if not a huge discount. I own 2 complete fiz3 packages. Yesterday I did both packages at the cost of $2000. I dont know about anyone else, but when I switched to the hu3 , I've had nothing but problems. My old hu2 NEVER had any issues. Now it's a complete crapshoot when my assistant pulls focus . I know that the preston on a whole is a great product,however knowing that the boards that come with it originally would be working an extremely busy frequency. So does this mean when the 4g band get really busy, we all will have to do this once again ? I feel this problem should have been thought about from the beginning.I just completely fustrated about the whole thing.

Hi All, Does anyone know anybody who repairs modulus 3000"s ? The small flux copasitor next to the whatchamacallit broke off the thingamagig .lol . Anyway, I used to go to a guy named hamlet, but he isn't always the fastest and very hard to get hold of. Any suggestions? thanks in advance. Rick

Hello all, Let me start off by saying if this is a repeat question, I'm sorry. I'm going to be starting a tv series with a genesis and production is trying to get an HD transmitter/receiver. If they don't, I'm sure they want me to fly with a hard unflexible hd cable. It's fy first time using the genesis and want to be prepared. Who sells the ultra thin triax cable? How long should it be? the cost? I've been in Cairo since april and we a lot of the time hard wire to a sony f900. I want to get away from that nasty stiff cable. Hi Jens, Thanks for the info. I'll call Noel at transvideo and buy one....I'll have him ship it thru their france office to save on export taxes. Hi Rick, the F900 has a delay on the SD output of around 5 frames, the modulus and receiver part can add one frame more. You should be able to get a PAL receiver from any rental house in Europe.....Try Arri Munich or contact Transvideo in France. Jens

Hello everyone, I'm currently working on a tv series in Cairo . Were shooting with sony 900's and using a marrel microwave transmitter. The picture quality is so-so. I was wondering if I used my modulus 3000 and a hermes pal receiver, would the picture be better? There isn't any pal tuners here that I have found. Seems like the 3 operators here only use microwave. How big would the frame delay be? If this has been disgussed before, please forgive me. All help is appreciated . thanks, Rick Drapkin P.S. I'm not sure, but it looks like the receiver comes from a company called " supercurcits.com " out of texas. Not quite sure on the spelling ,many years ago I had a receiver just like it. I hope this helps.
