  1. selling my Zephyr kit now that I have upgraded. It has served me well for the past few years - a very capable lightweight rig with all these accessories. Happy to take more photos if needed.

Located in Baltimore, MD. No international offers please.

Kit includes everything standard from Tiffen plus:
    Low mode bracket
Walter Klassen hard mount with doughty clamp
Peter Abraham long plate (bottom is not anodized due to a rush order on my part)
2nd AB battery plate (12v only) by Jerry Holway
Universal monitor yoke also by Jerry, I used it with a 703
Camera power cables: Red 4-pin, 2x Arri (one straight, one right angle), 4 pin XLR
    Other cables: Hirose to 2-pin for a 703 monitor, 4x d-tap splitter

  2. Hey Matt, same thing happened to me a few years ago. I was able to separate the vest center plate and mail it in a small box to Tiffen for repair. They need to press it back into place, annoying but at least it was a free repair with no questions asked.

  3. My Zephyr vest is getting a little too worn-in and I'd like to replace or upgrade the pads. Would love some recommendations for manufacturers or even raw materials to make my own.

Just bought a brand new easyrig vario 5 and was blown away by how comfortable that vest is. Easylock waistband is also very familiar haha

I'd love to have that level of comfort and support on my trusty ol' Zephyr rig!

  4. I've asked around, and I believe the root of my problem is the power cable inside of the Zephyr sled is too small - can anyone confirm?

Here's the situation - occasionally I fly my Amira on my Zephyr, and I power camera solely through a 3-pin to 8-pin lemo cable to reduce weight. I have two battery plates on my sled (one made by the excellent Jerry Holway!), but when I run two brand new full batteries, Amira only sees about 16v. I get a 12.5v warning when batteries are around 50% capacity. From what I've gathered, the Zephyr sled wiring is probably too thin to deliver a constant 24v to camera.

I'm well aware on the limitations the Zephyr has and that I'm definitely pushing the limits with an Amira package, but I'm curious if anyone has a concrete answer (or workaround) for me

  5. Steadicam AERO 30 Stabilizer with A-30 Arm & V-Mount Battery Mount - Baltimore MD

This kit includes everything except a monitor - I always place my smallHD 703 on the sled. IMO the Aero stock monitors are almost useless when it comes to viewing angles and contrast. The sled, arm, and accessories fit nicely into a Pelican iM2950 case. I also have a Steadicam padded duffel bag for the vest and dock. It's possible to fit the everything in the iM2950, but I haven't needed to condense it all in one case yet. I will include both the Pelican case and Steadicam bag unless shipping becomes an outrageous cost.

I recently sent the bridge plate to Tiffen for repair - the spring loaded locking pin fell out of the arm block which apparently is a common issue on a lot of Zephyr vests. Now that everything is in working order, the kit is ready to be sold.
