Got in to the industry as a Camera PA for a big demanding project in my home town Tijuana, in that first encounter I felt I belong there but no sure where. Steadicam got my eye in my second project, with the movements, the way to tell that part of the story just got in to my head, then it was a done deal I had to become a Steadicam OP. I moved to Mexico City and start working at one of the most monstruous camera rental house in Latin America has a camera tech, that same year I went to a Camera Motion Workshop at Arri Academy in Burbank. With time, a lot of effort and mistakes I got myself a medium size rig and started operating. I´m not going to lie it was hard to learn all that comes with Steadicam operating, every single gig I did in that rig gave me skills that no other could, I’m now glad I started with something that give me a challenges and problems to solve hard ware wise. Now I can concentrate on what is the best way to narrate what is needed to express, because I own a Smart System Chimera sled with Steadicam® Volt, meaning that I can focus on what is really important, the story.
