    Steadicam Steadimate-S A-15
  1. Hello, I've got a Ronin-S with a Blackmagic Micro Cinema Camera (caged) on it. My camera has got a Metabones Nikon-F to MFT adapter and a wide angle Nikon 14-24 lens (APS-C) and a Tilta Nucleus-N follow focus. It's not really heavy, but it's not a real lightweight, for the Ronin-S, I think. I've balanced it on the Ronin-S then I added the Steadimate-S and balanced it. I think the weights I added are sufficient for the top load, but, after having set it all with my A-15 arm (and Aero vest), I cannot achieve really steady shots. Maybe it's also my fault, as I am not an experienced steadycam operator, but I think I'm moving quite well, without moving the camera too much (the shots are anyway steadier than the Ronin-S alone, but I still have some movements due to walking). I have contacted the Tiffen support and they told me that with my configuration I should add weight to the head of my rig to get steadier shots... In this case I don't know how I should do. I can add something to my camera (but how much weight?) so I will have to rebalance the Ronin-S, obviously, then I will have to rebalance the Steadimate-S system, is it right? And I think I will have to add weight to the bottom, or if I'll do it will it nullify the work done adding weight to the top? Sorry for all these questions, but I should set it for a work I have to do next week... Thanks in advance to all those who will spend a bit of their time to read my post.
