Greetings All!
I created a versatile kit that allows you to fly a big rig at a low entry price point and quickly swap to gimble, hand-held or sticks with the SOS plate and Slingshot. I took a modular approach when creating the kit, so when you’re ready you can swap-in other sleds while keeping the arm, vest and support tools.
I bought this Steadicam in 2020 from the talented Lohengrin Zaplain (RIP). I’m the second owner and primarily used this for flying on my own indie productions.
The rig was made for heavier cameras, but the package includes a 15lb (6.8kg) weight plate that allows you to comfortably fly newer digital and lighter cameras up to a very comfortable operating weight. The 3A arm can be modified by Robert Luna to open up the bottom of its range.
This kit is great for anyone looking to upgrade into a commercially useable rig without the budget for a brand new one. While a little older, it still comes with quite a few nice features. Note that the Transmission, FF and batteries all work.

I had a helluva time sourcing a cage and weight plates. It seems the constellation of info, timing of upstarts vs veterans and so on, sometimes makes finding this info impossible. So, after fruitless searching, here it is again - from the source: Janice Arthur

I include camera screws and screws to make a cage. I even include extras.
Mix any plates together and any four posts
$380.00 any 2 plates and 4 rods
$175.00 any single plate about $30 for one box shipping
Roughly $44.00 shipping total for a whole cage in USA. (Even 2 boxes). Europe about $65 per box and some plates I can put in one box; heavy ones have to go in 2 boxes.

Where does the 3A designation derive from?
Are you familiar with the Silverspring arm?
Can an old Master Arm be resurrected with the help of someone like Luna for mid-range lifting capacity- up to 40lbs?
