  1. Thanks for the replies. I will just use the Gen 1. There is a signal from other monitors. I think an HDMI cable would be a bit cumbersome. I'm sure a decimator would work but the cameraman does not have on in his kit. cheers!
  2. Is the only way to get an image out from the Sony F5 or F55 to the Gen 2 by using a Decimator or AJA? Is there a setting in the camera to make it compatible? Anyone know when the next firmware upgrade will be? The Gen 1 works with this camera. Thank you for any help.
  3. Yes, they are. tamara@steaditam.com Message me here if you like.
  4. I've got two. One for a single channel preston handset, and one for a iris/focus control
  5. An earlier post stated that there was a new firmware update... What was this to fix? And when I checked for the update on the cinetronic site it said it was "on hold". Does anyone know why or till when? Chris, if you are reading: Is there a distribution list that I can be on to inform of new firmware updates? And a link to the site (It always take a while to find it... esp. when its not on my computer and therefore not bookmarked) thanks!
  6. Thanks for these posts. I went to Clairmont today to test both comp and sdi out with an Epic and various monitors and could not get it to work on SDI at all. It work on composite but the signal was wonky. The SDI worked on set in the past but very sketchy. On the last shoot, the DP blamed the monitor, and I refused to believe I had yet another issue with it. But, alas, I will accept fault next time... and wait for the firmware upgrade.
  7. Has anyone else had trouble getting an image from either composite out and/or SDI out?
  8. These cable are Hable made. I used them for a transmitter and a monitor that I used to own. 1 @ (2 pin Lemo) typically Panavision 18" long 1@ (3 pin Fischer) typically Arri 18" long 2@ (11pin Fischer) typically Arri 18" long 1@ 9 volt battery. I'd like to sell them all together. tamara@steaditam.com

  12. My first few days with the Gen 2: I bought the Gen 1 and was thrilled with the daylight viewing and angle viewing. No hood shade, no grip carrying a flag. It was the monitor we had all been waiting for! Chris has been great with keeping me updated when I have inquired about various issues. I was eager to receive the new monitor. It arrived 2 months after the estimated shipping date. Then I was too busy for several weeks to go pick it up across the border. I finally just finished 5 day calls scattered over 10 days with the monitor. No issues of over-heating, still bright, and now light weight. However, I am disappointed that the peaking and frame-lines settings don't hold between takes. It's unacceptable. I can't reset them in between takes when I power the monitor down. They are deep in the menus so not fast to access. As I came in as a day call with no prep, I tried to set the monitor up in the morning but I couldn't figure out how to get it to SDI (defaults as composite). So, I had to wait till lunch to use it. At first, it would also default back to composite when powered down/ up. That seemed to work itself out... somehow. Now it stays on SDI when powered back up. I was wondering if there is a "lock" button for these features that I am missing? The "enable" button doesn't lock the settings. I was under the impression that image flip would be in place with this version. I know they are working on it. I don't understand what all the other functions in the menus are used for and it might be more useful to include a waveform or inclinometer. The brightness buttons on the screen don't seem to work as well as adjusting them in the menu... or am I imagining this? I want to support a small hardworking business that is North American based. But I am a small business too and working in this expensive game of steadicam. Other monitor companies are catching up. And perhaps the Small HD has? Will I have to pay again for these upgrades that should be in place already?
  13. Hi Charles, I finally got paid after figuring it out for a while. It was good to get that set up. Easy enough and cheap if you say it is a transfer for friends or family. I hope you got the plate and are making good use of it. cheers.
