Hello All! The Steadicam factory will be closed on December 24 and 25. We will also be closed on January 1. We will be conducting our annual inventory from January 2-6. Our doors will be open, but we will not be able to take any parts from stock. We will also have limited staff these days. You are more than welcome to drop a repair off, but unfortunately we will not be able to start working on it until January 7. Thank you! The Steadicam Crew

Hi Philip, By all means, please have the rig sent to Tiffen and have us be the intermediate. We will of course need the details of the new buyer, so please write or call us before sending it. We hope to hear from you soon! best regards, Michael -
Tiffen/Steadicam affected by Superstorm Sandy
Michael_Craigs replied to Michael_Craigs's topic in News, Events, Workshops
The power is back on at our New York office, so we have email and the ability to ship product again. Our phone systems seem to be on the fritz, so some voicemails are not coming through. It also appears that any email that was sent on Tuesday, 30th, we will not receive. I believe this is being worked on though. Again, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact us. Best regards, Steadicam -
Hello All, The Tiffen Headquarters, located in Hauppauge, NY, is currently closed due to the storm. They are without power, which is affecting our Glendale, CA facility. Our email and system server is located in NY. We, Steadicam, do not currently have email access and our computer system is currently down. This means we are unable to ship product. However, our phones are working and our factory is open. We can still work on repairs and have those back in your hands. If you have any questions, please call our main number 1-800-593-3331. We hope all of your families and friends are safe. Thank you, Tiffen/Steadicam

How NOT to film a football game.
Michael_Craigs replied to David M. Aronson's topic in General Discussion
Hi David, Sorry to read about your spill. Glad you are doing ok, other than your shoulder. Please give me a call or write me an email to discuss your sled. 818-567-7945 mcraigs@tiffen.com Thanks, Michael Craigs -
Hi Donald, We notice this sometimes with the AA Pilots. 99% of the time it is one bad battery in the batch of 10. Usually one battery cannot hold a decent charge. If you have a way of measuring the battery's voltage, you can pick out the bad one. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks, Michael

Accidental reflections of steadicam operator?
Michael_Craigs replied to Peter Hoare's topic in General Discussion
Hi Richard, Nice Bad Brains picture! Best regards, -Michael -
Hi Paul, Thank you for posting this information. Just a word of warning though, the EFP gimbals, along with a handful of other Steadicam gimbals prior to 2007, are centered by placing shims on either side of yoke to balance out the gimbal. All of our units, from Pilot* to Ultra 2, are manufactured with the design described in the link above. Please let me know if you have any questions. Best regards, Michael Craigs *The first run of Pilot's were manufactured with the shim method.

Hi Niklas, We can help you out! If you are located in Southern California, please feel free to stop by our factory in Glendale. We can center the gimbal for you while you wait. If you are located elsewhere, please feel free to contact me and I will walk you through some some steps.
