  1. Wasn't there a test of the Bolt happening this week or last??? I can't remember who was going to do it... Tim Moynihan
  2. Daniel, that's exactly what prompted the search for this splitter...I was doing a commercial and tried to split the signal using a T and the BOXX just rejected the signal from the T. I didn't want any more power cables so looked for a passive splitter. This one seems to be perfect. And, actually, $112. is pretty inexpensive, I thought... Tim
  3. Just wanted to share a product that I received yesterday. As you are aware the Epic has only 1 HD-SDI output. This is an issue when you need to feed an onboard transmitter as well. I found this little passive splitter from ETS in California: http://www.markertek...ems/PV991.xhtml Small yet well built and solid. No power required. Made in USA. 7. Hi Charles, yes, I agree about the testing. I'd also love to get it on set to see how it performs. One of my initial concerns is that its output is only 10mw...not so much! Cheers, Tim
  8. I'm very interested to see what the "Bolt" can do. Has anyone had a chance to look at this TX/RX system at NAB or IBC and done a quick test on the range, signal quality, etc? Thanks, Tim Moynihan Rock Steadi Pictures Inc.

  14. Hi Ramon, yes, I separate the TX/RX from my Steadicam package. I don't think it's really an issue either way if you are happy what you are getting for it on a weekly basis. It's a numbers game with the PM and their budget. Often the PMs like to have it separated. BTW, just finished an episode with Tim Andrew. Great director, great guy! I believe he's heading back your way. Tim Moynihan Rock Steadi Pictures Inc.

  19. HI ALL... So, I'm wondering if you East coast and/or West coast guys could suggest used camera equipment shops in the LA, NYC or other regions. I'm looking for a good O'Connor 2575 (mitchell mount) head. I've done the google thing and have not come up with much. Maybe there just isn't any used 2575 heads out there?? Please send me an email if you know of any for sale or any place which may have them for sale...I know there is a WTB section here but this gets much more traffic. 20. I also use the Meridian and am extremely happy with it. More than that, my DP is extremely happy with it as well. I, like most of us, am always searching for the best wireless image I can get. The Meridian is really the only viable option we have. I've seen some good results from Hamlet's unit (HP Video) which was posted on the forum but haven't tested it myself. I will agree, also, the Customer Service I have received from both Mark and Scott and Marius at The Boxx has been excellent to say the least. Tim Moynihan Rock Steadi Pictures Inc. Vancouver, BC

  23. Hi all, I'm using 7- 150 watt hour Li-On batts from "Batteries 4 Broadcast" out of Hollywood, FL. I bought them over 3 years ago when our show left the film world and went digital. They've been fantastic! I use 2 on the sled to power the Alexa and still get huge run time. What's interesting to me is that I have never heard anyone on this forum talk about this company and/or their batteries and chargers. You guys down south have surely heard of them? I highly recommend them, both the batteries and the company!! I don't do a lot of traveling so the 150's work fine for me but I can understand what a hassle it could be if you were flying often... Again, my 2 cents... Cheers, and Happy Thanksgiving to all of you in the US of A!! Tim Moynihan Rock Steadi Pictures Inc.
