  1. I use a lot of DJ, especially when I do TV shows. Sometimes, if I don't switch to DJ, it would take a ethernety to get of the stage, and if you walk backwards you need an assitent and sometimes, production don't want to pay for it, or somtimes is just inconvinient to have one more man in the midlle of the show (on the stage)! Of course if I have to walk backwards only a few meters, and there is no obstacls I walk backwards! I few yers ago, I was an asistent to a German operator, who was doing a show here in Croatia, and he NEVER, EVER switched to DJ!! He was doing the show with triax attached, and he looked so redicules always runnig backwards, and sometimes the hosts had to slow down becuase he wasn't fast enough. That is definetly no way to do that kind of shot!! A few weeks a ago I was doing a running shot in DJ with 85mm lens on. We didnt have a dolly or a rickshaw, and director wanted a runing shot on long lens of Special Police Force (I thnik that this are SWAT teams in US) through a narrow coridor in a hotel. OK the shot was a "litlle Bit" jerky, but that the way they wanted it! I'm telling this because there is no chance to make this kind of shot just walking (or runing??) backwards, so I think it's very important to be able to work comfortable in Don Juan!! You never know what kind of shot is wanted from you!! regards, igor
  2. Marc, The batteries are a big problem since this configuration is "sucking" cca. 6 ampers (the camera and link has cca. 50W). We are using Sony Li-Ion BP-GL95, on the camera back, so the camera is not powerd from the Rig. This batteries are very light and one battery is lasting around 1,5 hour. And the Sony charger is simultaneus, so theere is no chance to run out of batteries! The Camera with Link's back and batteries, weights around 13Kg!? (I think!? I didn't weight it!) It's not to heavy, I can fly it with no problems with my Glidecam V16. Only the first pic in the site is shot on V16, other two pics are with my other rig, Artemis Cine. igor
  3. Regarding the Link Digital Wireless System, mentioned above!!! If someone is interested to rent it in Europe, please feel free to contact me. Here you can find specifications and different packages of this wirless system! (unfortunatlly I didn't have time to list it in my equipment list on my web site, but I'll do it soon! :-) !!!) and of course, some pictures of me in action with the Link http://www.steadicam.orka.hr/link/ All I can say is, that this thing works like a dream..... If you need more info, contact me!! Kind regards, Igor
  4. Thanks Marcin, I will definetlly thnk about it! Can you send me your emil, contacts,... so I can contact you if I will need the batteries? igor.savatovic@zg.htnet.hr regards, igor
  5. Hi Marcin I also have Seitz FF, but my batteries are almost "dead". You said it's quite simple to make a custom made batteries!? Do you have some photos, bluprints, anything,.. so I can make few!? please be free to send me any kind of info. Kind Regards, igor
  6. Hi everybody It's been sometime since I posted my first post about Seitz problem, and FINALLY a month ago I solved it. The guy who serviced it before, acctully didn't made it!! I took it several times to service, after the last post, and when I almost bought a new FF system (sorry guys, I will wait a lillte bit more with new FF aquisiton, but thanks for all offers) I found a guy who is servicing radio controls for plane and car models, and he solved everything in one day!! The problem was, offcourse, with amplifier. I had some switch (I don't know what was for) near second chanell, that caused many problems, and he removed it. The system is much more precise now. There were some other problems, but I don' know how to explain it on english?? (sorry!!!!) Something with the transmiter, meanwhile, also gone wrong!! It automaticlly switched from RF to Cable, but there was no cable attached!!! He also repaired it, and he changed the potentoiometar, on the transmiter because it was causing "jerky" movements of the motor. Anyway, I'm posting this because if someone needs to repair his Seitz (or some other FF) in Eastern Europe or somwhere near Croatia, I think taht this guy can help??!! This are his contacts: Sanjin Svetlicic sanjin@koch.hr regards, Igor
  7. Hi everybody I manged to repair the amplifer in my Seitz system! First of all I want to thank everybody for your helping emails, especially Ben - Unitcine, Josh - Seitz and Magnus - Heden! The problem was in some "Consdensers" (I hope that this is the right word), and very old wires that need some welding!! The most anoying of all break downs. The engenier just need a lot of time to check every wire and old "condensers", and after a lot of time seems that he repaired it! Once more, thanks everybody, you helped me a lot!! Sincerelly, Igor :D
  8. Thanks Ian for your help, but seems that this email adress does not work any more! Any other suggsestions igor
  9. Hi Everyody I have a big problem and any kind of help will be very appriciated!! I bought a seitz FF and Heden m26p motor, few month ago from a operator based in LA! When I talk to him (through emails) he asured me that everything was OK with the system. The motor had a gaffer tape across the pot, but he assured me that everything is alright and I don't have nothing to worry about! So I ordered the packege! When system arrived, I tried it, but when I conected the motor, motor started to turn uncontrolable to one side! After some time I noticed that the problem is in loose potenitometer at the motor. When you move it a litlle the uncontrolable movment stoped. Anyway the motor was not usable without it's bracket. After few days I noticed that the motor is moving slower in one side! I contacted Heden in Sweden, and Magnus was so kind that he fixed the broken pot for free (Thank you Magnus ), even if the motor was almost 20 years old! So the motor is like new now, but it still roates slower to one side (the speed in other side is normal). When the system is conetcted for longer time to the power suplly, the speeds on both sides are almost the same! (when the amp worm's up!!!) I took it to the service, here in Zagreb, Craotia, and a service guy told me, that the problem is in amplifier (Seitz, Model 8725 dual channel), but all integrated circuits in it are without any label or code, so he doesn?t know what exactly should be changed in it!! So I would be very grateful if someone can help me with some blueprints or schemes of Seitz, Model 8725 dual channel amplifier, or some emails were I could contact someone for this blueprints or schemes!! There is no email address at the official Seitz web site. This would be much easier than send it to repair to Seitz since I?m located in Croatia (Eastern Europe) Any help would be very appreciated, Thanks, Igor
