  2. Hello guys, Do you know the easy way, in simple words, of matching 2 cameras in studio production using a OCP control panel, a Waveform monitor and a vectorscope? The main parameters, and how to do? Thanks Nacho Minguez Steadicam Owner/Operator SPAIN
  3. Hello, here´s a pic of the new sachtler arm Nacho Minguez Steadicam Owner/Operator SPAIN
  4. Guys, I found this topic in the gimbal section: http://www.steadicamforum.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=223 I think is a knowed problem in gimbals. Thanks Nacho
  5. Is the gimbal centring due to a wrong design or could be easily repaired? Thanks Nacho
  6. Hello, I purchased I new gimbal and I have problem to static balance. While at first time, is easy to balance in one sled direction respect the horizon, if I rotate the sled 180 degrees, the sled is not balanced respect the horizon. This is, is not balanced in the 360 degrees of the pan movement. For this reason, it´s impossible to make a good dynamic balance. What could be the problem? because the gimbal is brand new. Thanks Nacho Minguez Steadicam Owner/Operator
  7. Thanks guys. The wire diagram I posted yesterday is correct. I checked and all was perfect. My main worry was about the power wires (polarity). Thanks to Ant, Jason and the Tiffen guys Frank and Kyle for the fast help. B.R Nacho Minguez Steadicam Owner/Operator SPAIN
  8. Hello, do anybody know the correct distribution of the pins number in the Hirose connector of the ProVid monitor (year 1995)? Frank and Kyle from Tiffen, sent me yesterday the diagrams with the assignation pin: 1.- BLACK (GND) 2.- Video - 3.- Video + 4.- RED (V+) The problem is that I can´t see the numbers in the Hirose connector. Is correct the pin distribution in the image attached? Thanks a lot Nacho Minguez Steadicam Owner/Operator SPAIN
  9. Jason, you can download the operation manual from this link: http://www.paguk.com/Brochures/u4997%2030v%20ar.pdf Kind regards Nacho Minguez Steadicam Owner/Operator SPAIN
  10. Steadyrig will release a vest during 2006!! Looks great. Nacho Minguez Steadicam Owner/Operator SPAIN
  11. Gordon, if you need to upgrade your III arm, I´d go directly to Rig Engineering Australia. The gold springs are heavy duty but the Silver Springs support more weight and has a wider weight range. The work they do is excellent. Talk with Dean Merlo for details at: admin@steadyrig.com Best Nacho Minguez Steadicam Owner/Operator SPAIN
  12. SteadyRig is updating his website. S.R. vest will be release this year. Looks very very nice. :D Nacho Minguez Steadicam Owner/Operator SPAIN
  13. Hello, contact with Dean or Hugo from Steadyrig. Their email: admin@steadyrig.com. They have wonderful and very high quality products. They´re very nice people and they´ll answer to your questions quickly (as possible) and accurately. Best Nacho Minguez Steadicam Owner/Operator SPAIN
  14. Michael, you don´t lift all the sled weight with your arm. The Steadicam arm lift the most of the weight and you help to lift the rest up to the desired headroom position to avoid the "step" effect in the frame. Nacho
  15. Hello again, I think the problem it´s in the way you take the gimbal handle when you walk forward. Do you notice more walking forward than backward? Think, that when you walk back, you tend to pull from the gimbal with the position hand and when you walk forward, you push with this hand. The problem is to push the gimbal. Try the following. Rotate your body a little more frontal from the sled and with the position hand, try to pull the gimbal and not push, lifting a little your elbow. It isn´t a natural way for walking but it works. Think, that the way you walk is very important too. Yo must try to make soft steps with a foot on the other. I see that you tried the arm with the tension in the middle of the boom range. Try to loose the springs a little more (about 10 degrees under horizontal bones), lift the arm to the headroom with your position hand, and will work even better for slow steps. 16. Hi guys, for the Sachtler Artemis arm, that is a IIIA style arm, non-isoelastic, a simple and "logic" rule. Lower frequency steps, requires less tension spring and high frequency steps requires more tension spring. After that, you must adjust the height of the bones depend of the headroom, but always, you will need help the arm with a little force from your position hand, lifting the arm to the ideal tension springs. Hope this helps Nacho Minguez Steadicam Owner/Operator SPAIN
  17. Hello Dave, are you Mr. Chameides? How long time. It´s nice to hear from you again. I extract the following from my PAG MC-124 charger: The Recovery Charge Program: Batteries which have been over-discharged may be rejected by the charger and indicated as faulty: batteries in this condition are unsuitable for fastcharging. To overcome this the MC124 incorporates an ancillary Recovery Charge program. The selector switch for this program is located on the front panel. After a period of one hour the MC124 automatically enters the fast-charge program which will run until the battery is fully charged. If a battery is severely faulty, and has not responded to treatment by the Recovery Charge program, it will be indicated as faulty when the fast-charge program is entered and will not be charged. Rejected batteries should be further investigated, see Section 4.6. Hope this helps :P Kind regards Nacho Minguez Steadicam Owner/Operator SPAIN 0034 626 110 537 nachostd@terra.es
  18. Thank you Thomas for the answer. I finally get the operation manual and the menu has letterbox output mode if module HKDW-702 is installed. If not, if a miranda downconverter is installed, they have a selectable letterbox output :) Best Nacho Minguez Steadicam Owner/Operator SPAIN
  19. I´m impressed about the grade of professionalism of Rig Engineering Steadyrig from Australia. Instead release lots of products to the market, they are step by step releasing high quality products and asure the customer satisfaction. The last, was the beta test of the future Steadyrig Topstage (called IRTS) that was sent around the world for testing before release the final version. In my opinion, this is very good for Steady-cam comunity because will let us save time = money, having the best rigs ever made. Again A++ to Dean and Hugo. Nacho Minguez Steadicam Owner/Operator SPAIN
  20. Hi, I need to shoot with the Sony HDW-750 in 16:9 mode and my Steadicam monitor doesn´t support 16:9. Is possibe to send the video signal to the steadicam monitor in letterbox mode (with black bands) instead the real 16:9 signal? Kind regards Nacho Minguez Steadicam Owner/Operator B) SPAIN B)
  21. And of course, don´t forget the service you get after purchase your arm. Paddock is well known by the very good service and Steadyrig is not less. Dean and Hugo are very nice people and very professional. You will have a perfect arm and a exceptional service. Other brands can´t say the same and this is other very important point to have in mind before buy one of these equipments. Best Nacho Minguez Steadicam Owner/Operator SPAIN
  22. Yellow shark? What is your name? In concern of Steadyrig Silverspring arm. YES, it´s a real alternative to the PRO arm. I don´t say better because they´are different arm designs and the price range it´s different. The steadyrig arm cost about $12.000 (check with Dean or Hugo from Steadyrig for prices) vs around $20.000 for PRO arm. Definitively, if you´re looking a IIIA style arm, is the best arm you will find on the market. It´s perfect engineered, made with the best materials and modern CNC machines. In adition, has some updates from the IIIA arm like frictionless arm post, titanium pin block, new rubber stops and others. I attach pictures from Streadyrig in wich you can see the high quality.....and believe me that I don´t work for Steadyrig, I´m only a happy customer. Best Nacho Minguez Steadicam Owner/Operator SPAIN
  23. Thomas, my arm isn´t an upgrade to silverspring, it´s a refurfished arm and has the original EFP blue springs, not the silverspring springs. As I told you, contact with Dean or Hugo and they answer to your questions accurately. If you are in UK, perhaps you could try one. With regard to isoelasticity, as I know, depends of the pulleys distribution design, and the silverspring arm is a IIIA design non-isoelastic arm. Personally, I like much more the feel of these non-isoelastic arms than the isoelastics like Ultras. Nacho

  25. Hi Thomas, contact with Dean or Hugo from Rig Engineering. They will be happy to answer to your technical questions. My arm is a refurbished IIIA arm, not the SilverSpring Steadyrig arm but they made a great job and it looks, feels and sound like a brand new IIIa arm. Like you, I own a provid arm and you will see the big difference from the first time. Think that the Silverspring arm is a IIIA arm but, more precise, better made, stronger, great weight range (13 to 63lbs), friction free arm post and lots of improvements over the original arm, knowing that the original CP IIIA performed very well in the past and actually.
