  1. Looking for old gimble. Does not have to be in great shape- want to make a weighted post just for practicing.
  2. Jamie, the monitor sounds good. the price that you quoted does not include the frameline generator. with this additional cost does the monitor continue to be a good choice?
  3. Ben, Thank you for your comment. My post is not meant to attack Abel Cine. In fact, the LA office has been very helpful with rectifying the situation. Of course there was a refund and they are assisting me in purchasing some other equipment, including the Bartech. Still looking forward to seeing the Benz in the field.
  4. I had a similar situation as a previous poster. I was interested in a back up follow focus system and was impressed with the Benz. However the Benz is not actually available (despite my paying for it.) Any way- Rev. Jim Bartell showed me the error of my ways and I ordered a Bartech (maybe #500- do I get a bonus battery.) Jim showed me the M1 motor and I heard impressive feedback on this forum. I went to do a final check on the equipment before taking possession of it. The M1 is very strong and accurate. However it is very very loud. I can imagine getting complaints from the sound dept. if in a smaller room with a substantial focus pull. Any one out there notice this problem? Is there a fix? Has anyone received complaints? Thanks
  5. 3 Anton Bauer adapter plate/cables for PAG charger. These are Anton Bauer adapter plate to 4 pin XLR. I purchased a charger but do not need the adapters. They seem to be in perfect shape. $150.00 timmykane@mindspring.com
  6. I would like to second that. For someone new to the Steadi world it was nice to put a face to some names such as frank, Kyle, Jim Bartel, etc. It was fun watching everyone try out the "skate dolly." It was like watching kids in a toy store. Thanks again.
  7. Tom, I am not an operator, but I have been in the industry for a while as an assistant. First off- you have a reel. you took the time to gather your footage and compile it- that puts you ahead of some. that is the good part. However- in the opening shot you cut the guy's head off. First shot. in contrast, many of the following shots have too much head room. many of the moves are good and dynamic, but good composition is key. Also, the reel seems to long. better to have a short reel of stronger material than one that shows quantity. Thank you for inviting us to see the reel. it would be cool to see some others posted. I hope that the comments are helpful.
  8. Mike OSHEA Steadicam operator has a website. His website offers practice cages (which are used at the workshops in the US). Here is a link to the page: http://www.e2etech-secure.com/cgi-bin/site...n=dbview&id=pc1 thank you Alec for correcting me. I thought that the fourm was associated with the SOA.
  9. Recently there has been mention of the video presented by Ted, Jerry(, and Garret?) It sounds like an excellant resource. Is there any one that owns the tape that would be willing to loan it or allow someone to purchase a copy?
  10. Stephen. Thank you for your assistance.
  11. Greetings all. New Member and New to the Steadi world. I realize that there are some issues with the naming of the "Garfield Mount.", but regardless of that - what is the best resource for picking one up? Is there a comparable mount that you suggest instead? Thank you for your help.
